Go inside- plenty of tvs, under-cranked ceiling fans - it screams less "restaurant" and more "your friend with the great garage." Names are stated, not numbers..which is personal, but perhaps a little prone to misheard orders.. "SEAN/JOHN/DON!" I think there are places in which by the time your order hits..it feels like you're in the middle of trying to make a gallery of orgami napkins... But the Grille isn't that..it moves at a steady breeze, carrying a gallery of food that could feed a small boar. But enough about the ambiance, you're probably here for exactly two things, and I'll name fries to make the review more succinct. You know, the logo cartoon is a bit.. funny. I'm like, "there's no way I'd want to take my lower jaw to such extreme positions!" But then I bit into the burger. That was my first mistake. To eat a Grille burger here is like falling in love, only to realize that the person loves me more than I ever could her. Naturally, I dropped my engagement ring. But not the burger. Whoever flips these needs a raise. Burger King throws them into the microwave or whatever and then tries to add "char" effects, which has the taste of imitation crab being dropped in a ash-heap. But PT's. Words can't do it justice, but I'm going to try. The beef seemed fairly rotated, unlike my arm during bowling. Crisp. Sweet. Layered. Crunchy. My jaw was getting oddly closer to the surrealistic logo that I thought I was above. Naturally, I ate the fries before picking up my engagement ring. I asked her if she could be my wife...And she responded "No, I am just your food induced hallucination that comes from having the best Burger on Earth. " As the stars faded from my eyes, I realized... you can take back a vow, but you can never take back the sheer amazement of picking your jaw off the floor to keep the food from escaping the confines of the pain of love and loss. We absolutely loved our burgers and fries! This place is super friendly and it feels a little bit like walking back in time. Walk up to the counter, fill out your order on an individual sheet and have a seat. Refills are free and the burgers are tasty. The fries are absolutely delicious. Pay on your way out. We will definitely be back. In terms of seating, there are seats and tables around the outside of the room and high tops in the center of the room. Solid quick service spot in Leland. Order at the counter by marking off what you want on their menu pad and pay when you're done. Each sandwich comes with fries and a drink. Good burgers, big fan of their grilled cheese which is made on a burger bun and chicken tenders and fries for the little one. Their lemonade is fresh with real lemons. I wanted to love this place because they have an awesome concept & cool logo but it was just OK. Coolness - walk in, grab an order pad & mark what you want, then turn in at the counter. Prices are decent & all sandwiches come w/ fries & drink. $15 for 8oz Burger & Fries Now for the food - I know this is going to show my age but damn, everything was soooo greasy & salty. See the pic of the fires - not sure the fry guy even drained them before throwing them in the bag. The burger tasted like they rolled the ground beef in a sat mix before putting it on the grill. Definitely could have been better. Also it may have just been my choices & they do have other options like Grilled Chicken Sandwiches & a few different salads. Since the new owners, PT's in Leland is our go to burger place. They are very consistent with their food and the staff is always pleasant. I do, however, have a suggestion. With a big part of the customers being retirement age, can you replace the high top tables with more regular tables? My family and I have given up our tables multiple times to customers who cannot, or are not comfortable with, the high top tables. And although I am not retirement age, they are just not comfortable. My family and I will continue to go to PT's either way, just wanted to bring this to Managements attention. read more

P.T. Grille now under new mgt. The large burger is big,we always get the smaller one. They give you fries with a burger, two many in one order for one person (unless you totally love fries!!). An alternate is a small salad, and two can easily share one order of the fries. Drinks (unlimited refills) come with orders and they have quite an extensive menu now with other sandwiches. Travelled to Leland this weekend and stopped by PT's to grab a bite to eat. I got their 8 Oz burger and it was a pretty decent size but cooked down quite a bit. It tastes like a burger that was cooked at a backyard BBQ by your dad and I mean that in the best of ways. It had a nice char, was slightly over cooked but tasted great. The fries were also quite good, they were seasoned with what I believe was lemon pepper seasoning which gave them a great flavor. I was kinda scared to eat my food because the cooks wear makeup, fake eyelashes, fake nails (half of which were missing) and no hat. Then didn't use an ice scoop, just went in with a cup with nasty nails. I don't care that the wear open toe shoes, that's on them but I counted 6 health violations just from being rang up The food is good so I think I'll try a different location. The owner should be concerned however, that his cooks could cause the score to go down almost a whole letter just on hygienic and uniform violations. This is an easy fix. read more

First time at PT's and it won't be our last! The staff of guys are kind and know how to cook! This is real, tasty, seasoned food. You walk in and head to the counter to fill out an order slip (pictured), then hand it to an employee. They get it cooked up and bring it out to your table. You then take the ticket back up to the counter to pay. Super easy. The restaurant is clean and friendly. They hand squeeze their lemons for lemonade and again, it's real. They staff comes to you during your meal to check up on you. They also sell beer and packaged ice cream! read more

We tried PTs grill on Wed. Evening, in Leland. I walked into the place and I should have walked out. The place was filthy! The cashiers and servers were quite attentive, we ordered hamburgers. We sat down at a table, we wiped down. The place smelled like a urinal, I wondered why we stayed?? I can't say anything positive or negative about the burger except it was tasteless. The roll for my burger was stale, my husband's was not stale. Poor quality control. My expectations are not high when going for a burger, I wouldn't go back for the tasteless burger and NEVER go back because of the filthy environment. Upon leaving I told the cashiers that the place smells like a bathroom. They were going to tell their manager. While I was sharing my concerns, my husband threw out the garbage and told me that it looks like the garbage pail was never cleaned after being emptied, I suppose. My favorite hand cut fries. So good. Just the right amount of salt. Their burger buns are quicky grilled. You fill out a ticket with how you want to customize your burger. It's delicious. The burger has the perfect amount of seasoning. The toppings always taste fresh. I think the mushrooms are a canned product. This location has burgers, grilled chicken sandwich, roast beef sandwich, black bean or Veggie burger, turkey sandwich, blt, some salads and chicken tenders. For tonight's meal I chose to walk to PT's Grille. It was a nice cool evening and thought, Why Not? Well it was a very disappointing cheeseburger. I read all the reviews and they all sounded like it was worth my visit. I'm not a huge eater so I opted for the PT Burger which is a 4 oz patty. As the cashier explained to me, we cut the 8 oz in half and cook 4 oz. Well that's all fine and dandy but they need to mash it down so it will AT LEAST FILL UP THE BUN!!! The fries filled my basket for sure. I would suggest ordering the Old Fashioned Burger and eat what you can. I've attached the updated menu board with prices, considerable difference from previous photos. At least I got some exercise!!! read more

We stopped at PT's on the way back from Holden Beach. Service was extremely friendly and helpful, but the food was a "meh". My burger was cooked past well done and wasn't too far from burned. Likewise the bun had been "toasted" until about a quarter of the bun was black. The top half of my bun was also broken in half, which made eating the sandwich a bit difficult. My fries must have come from the bottom of the serving tray because I mostly had small, over-fried pieces of french fry less than an inch long. Regardless, they were just served warm, not hot, too greasy, over salted for my tastes and definitely lived up to this meal's "meh" rating. If my burger had not been cooked to death, had a lightly toasted bun that was not broken on the top half, and came with freshly cooked fries from the top of the serving tray, this would have been a 4-star review. Exercising more care over food preparation would let PT's serve better food more quickly at the same price. read more

The service was good, the people who work there are always friendly. I was a little disappointed and confused about a new policy they have. I received a coupon for a free birthday meal a few weeks ago with the Leland locations address on it and I was told that they no longer accept them. I was told that there was a new owner, but I'm not sure what difference that makes when the coupon was just sent out a few weeks ago with that locations address on it. I don't think I've ever posted a negative restaurant review here. We love the food, when we can get it? This place is sporadically closed- we've arrived no less than 4 occasions to find the doors locked with the hours posted as open. This is not including holidays or days when one might expect a potential closure. Once, there was a sign letting people know. Today, and on the other days, no explanation. I've driven out of my way to come here so it's just been an inconvenience and disappointment. Wish they could communicate their hours in a more organized fashion! read more

I have been here a few times and each experience has been fine but gosh have prices gone up! Two regular cheeseburgers, lemonade and a diet coke (fries included) was $35. Felt like I was visiting Five Guys again minus the milkshakes (see 5 guys review for reference). Everyone was working hard, hurrying as fast as they could and delivering food out to people. Everyone looked like happy customers eating. You get a great amount of fries that are seasoned perfectly. Not to sound picky but usually an attire in a work place is a little more professional, especially in a restaurant when you're the face of the establishment helping the customers and so on. I get that it's a fast pace restaurant, we aren't expecting a "professional" look but we also weren't expecting sweat pants pulled up to the calf with tie dye socks, crocks, shirt and messy hair thrown up. The rest of the staff was in regular shirts, shoes, shorts, pants, and so on, it just seemed off. Besides that, I love that the burgers are fresh but I have heard many people say they won't be going back for a while because of the cost of their meals. read more

Things have been a little rocky here lately. Not sure what's going on, but I'd hate to see them close their doors. While the food isn't great, it's good in a pinch and something I might want while at the nearby art center. The burgers are good as are the fries, but once I ordered a grill cheese and it came on a soft roll! I don't know if that's a southern thing, but it was gross. Can't say much about the ambiance because it's essentially a fast food place so the bar is set pretty low, but it suffices. Staff is typically pleasant enough, which one can't always attribute to fast food establishments, so good for them for keeping things pleasant. I hope they can iron out some of their issues (irregular hours and inconsistent food for starters), because as fast food places go, they're head and shoulders above most of the others in Leland. read more
