I ordered the grilled portabella mushroom & Swiss with added tomatoes and mayo. My favorite sandwich! There is a small but pleasant patio for outdoor dining. I am a regular Subway customer and had heard that Jersey Mike's was better so I tried it. NOT IMPRESSED! Seems like it is a Subway with a guy who slows down the process by slicing the stuff to order, and charging you double for the sandwich. I saw no noticeable difference in quality, and Subway offers a wider array of vegies and sauces. I learned to appreciate Subway more from my visit to Jersey Mike's. I hate to offer bad reviews but Jersey Mike's cost more and in my opinion is not better. read more

I will be honest. I am rarely compelled to give a negative review. In fact, this is my first. However, I just had the strangest experience at Jersey Mike's. I had never been to Jersey Mike's and asked if cold subs could be made hot. They emphatically told me yes! I said "Great! May I please have a tuna melt?" The staff looked at me like I had two heads. I told them it was just tuna with cheese melted on top... so I giggled a little when it came out and the cheese was on the bottom. One guy said "look I just did the best I could" a bit accusingly. Another shouted across a few other customers that no one had ever asked for that before, no one wants hot tuna. My cheeks flushed, I was really embarrassed. I graciously said everything was fine but it is a standard menu option I didn't make it up. I tried to laugh. They made me feel dumb. I do not think I will return. Ordered carry out, asked for a receipt, cashier gave me a receipt, I immediately noticed it was NOT my receipt, when I explained that I was given the wrong receipt, the receipt she gave me was for a dine in order, a "duplicate", I requested she give me my receipt, the correct receipt, rather than accepting her error and printing my receipt, she advised me that there was a receipt stapled to me bag... after driving away, in heavy traffic, I realized that the receipt stapled to my order was marked "UNPAID", hence being worthless to me with regard to record keeping. I was blankly staring at the extensive menu when the manager asked me what I was thinking about ordering. I told him I wasn't sure and that I'd never been before. He made several recommendations and gave me pretty good descriptions on each. Once I chose my sub, Chipotle Chicken Cheese Steak, it took about 4 minutes to get my food. My sub was great, had really good flavor and the bread was perfect. I wish they had a smaller option but hey, can't be too picky. I've been into Philly cheesesteak sandwiches recently so I thought I would give Jersey Mike's a try. I ordered a regular sized Mike's Famous Philly. It was absolutely delicious! But I didn't really understand if I could customize my sandwich at all. I didn't see if there were any other bread options or if I would get charged for adding another vegetable or topping. I liked that the sandwich was pretty large and I left feeling full, but I still thought it was pricey. The best decision that I made was to purchase a David's chocolate chip cookie that was by the register. Probably the best cookie I've ever had! Pretty sure I now won't be able to leave this place without one. Overall Jersey Mike's is a little expensive for me to go here often but everything is delicious! read more

Decided to finally try Jersey Mike's after a co-worker suggested it was the best place to go for a sub. This place changed my life! I can no longer frequent other sub restaurants without feeling dissatisfaction. Jersey Mike's just does things different, from the actual grill where they cook their meats (not run them through a faux heater or sitting in plastic containers ready to pick up and separate slices), to the amount of meat/condiments that go on the sandwich. Bad experience. Young men making sandwiches seemed a bit inexperienced but pleasant the guy who took my order on the other hand was a real jerk. No pleasant greeting. I went in for a veggie sandwich and usually when I order the sandwich the staff changes their gloves however this location didn't change the gloves nor did they prep the cheese that was going to go on my veggie sandwich on a different slicer. It was going to be cut on the same slicer that the pork and other meats had already been processed on and it was not cleaned before hand. Hands down THE BEST SUB SHOP north of 465. Although their subs are a few dollars more than subway or jimmy johns they are well worth it! First you choose fresh baked white or wheat bread, then they hand slice cheese for you based on what sandwich you get, so fresh and delicious. I always get the veggie so no meat for me, but still so perfect in every way. Next they ask it you want it "Mikes way" I don't bc I'm particular about my topping but I get lettuce , onion, & xtra tomatoes. Then I get a few jalapeños and lots of mayo. Lastly they have oregano and a little vinegar&oil, help pull it all together. Try them out, everyone's always like it's just a sandwich but once you try theirs you will be hooked! Absolutely my favorite place to go for a sandwich. The bread is homemade and since they have come out with their rosemary Parm bread I just can't say no. The hot sandwich can be kind of hit or miss but are still good. Where they really get my vote is the roast beef, turkey, and bacon. To start, the back is always crispy and not flabby undercooked like some fast food places can be. The roast beef is made a perfect medium rare and is tender and so flavorful. If that's not quite your style I second recommend the Italian. 5 kinds of Italian meats make this one big sandwich. The sandwiches always come out tasting like they were made at an actual deli. Don't forget Mike's way either. That is lettuce onion tomato a special blend of spices, salt and pepper along with oil and vinegar. Went to this your shop in Carmel, undoubtedly the worst sandwich I've ever had. I got the original Italian and the guy there drowned it in vinegar and oil so badly it had completely soaked the bottom of my foot long where the bread was soggy and inedible by the time I got home in Whitestown. It was two younger black men working the counter that evening who were busier talking to each other than they were with making the sandwich correctly. I have been to other Jersey Mike's and not only had good service but an excellent sandwich, but not at your Carmel store. This was my first time to your shop and it will be my last unfortunately. I used to love Jersey Mikes. So much get a sandwich every week. Then ordered online and DoorDash mixed up the order. No problem. Called DoorDash they told me to contact JS. OK. Contacted them. They told me they forwarded my issue to the store owner, and he/she would be in contact with me. OK. Surprise surprise no contact. I give up. You can have my $30. Would have had more if you would have simply taken care of this. Not down voting the sandwiches, down voting the management. Long term customer is worth more than than $30. I've been frequenting this Jersey Mike's location since it opened. I ordered online for pickup today. The sandwiches are always consistently good - very typical of Jersey Mike's. Giving it only two stars today because of the customer service. The lady at the cashier (older lady with rough voice) needs basic good customer service training and needs to learn the business she is in. I arrived and stood in front of the register while she finished talking to another employee. I said hello but no response. I waiting a few awkward minutes before she looked up and asked how she could help. I told her I was there for a pickup. She said "for who?" in an unfriendly tone. I then told her tried to create a shore rewards account but kept getting kicked-out the Jersey Mike's website to get credit on this order, but that I'd since got it setup and wanted to add it now. She said she couldn't do it. And spent a considerable amount of time showing me on her register why she could not do that on online orders and that it was too bad because today is double points day. I took my purchase and figured I'd work on it later. Came to find out later that you CAN INDEED add a previous purchase with receipt to your online account. If she had only spent a few minutes on what could have been a relatively easy fix, I would probably not be writing this review. But the whole experience with this one employee was disappointing. Poorly managed and it shows because the manager himself gave me attitude. My wife and I were on a little 2 hour outing with our newborn and wanted to order something quick and online. We placed an order at 12:45 online with Jersey Mikes. At 1:00pm I went it to grab our order. There was about 5-6 people in line and 4 people working behind the line. They all seemed flustered and not happy at all. After 5 minutes or so one of the employees asked if I had an online order of which I replied that I did. He said "sorry, we have a line so it's going to be a while." If I knew that when I ordered online I would have just waited in the 5 person line. Around 1:20 I inquired about my online order. One of the employees said "we will make it in a bit, less than 5 min, less than 5 min". At 1:28 my order was complete. Almost 45 minutes! I let them know that I was disappointed for waiting so long but none of the employees seemed to care or offered an explanation or apology. In fact, Manager Matt looked up and said "we tried our best, man." If 4 employees get flustered by 5 people in line then some retraining is desperately needed. I did not appreciate the way I was treated and that my online order was such an inconvenience that they took 45 minutes to make it. I also wrote my frustration to corporate and have not heard anything either so I will not go back and don't advise that you do either. read more

When asking about the sandwich I wanted, one of the employees argued with me and said I should try something else instead of just adding regular yellow mustard. THEN when you go to pay, the employee is staring at you and you FEEL you have to give a tip even though in this case they certainly did not deserve it.
