Either way, you want an old coffee shop feel, a great baked good. And doughnuts that bring you back to sitting next to your gramps. No hipster jive here; just old time donuts with simple toppings and fillings. -- Honeydipped Donut: Similar to Dunkin but softer and fresher. Good fluffiness. Light in the glaze, but full coverage and tasty. Only negative was that it was just a bit chilled from the AC (no refrigerator condensation). Overall, a solid donut. -- Chocolate Jelly: Imagine a Boston Cream, hold the cream, add raspberry jelly. Good combo, good execution, good donut. -- Coffee: It's New England Coffee Company. Good, but nothing special. Excellent atmosphere, excellent service, and the owner is a delight. The donuts aren't quite in the elite category, but certainly above average not just compared to Dunkin, but compared to similar mom and pop shops.

You don't go here because you enjoy quality breakfast food. You go here because you spilled your Fancy Snob Coffee in your car on the way to work. You go here because you're having a midafternoon Fat Attack that can only be quelled by a duet of donuts (maple frosted, you are an evil temptress!). You go here because you want to support the Working Albanian-American Moms Association of America. You go here because... well, it's Dunkin Donuts in Webster - there are just so damn many of them. I guess my ~guilty pleasure~ would be a large iced coffee, black, with a pinch o' sugar, from the Dunks in the Gulf Station on Main Street, but only when the temp is 90+...and usually only when I'm buying gas at Gulf anyway. But then I bought a new car and I don't think the giant cup will fit in my subcompact-class cupholders. Conclusion: two shameful stars.
