So pleased by the outstanding service I received from the Vonnie McDonald State Farm agency. They…read moreare knowledgeable and extremely customer service oriented. The team is friendly, warm and very responsive. The products they suggested were tailored to the needs of me and my family. I couldn't offer a higher recommendation for a company. I know I made the right decision to move my business to the Vonne McDonald agency.

Vonnie McDonald did not earn my business, she was given my account after it was passed from agent…read moreto agent around town, she is the fifth State Farm Agent to service my account. Well actually her office just accepts my payment. They are also the point of contact when State Farm says I need to replace garage doors, because they have mold growing on them from humidity moisture, to provide them with proof of estimates and replacement of garage doors. State Farm also demanded I replace a perfectly good roof that roofing replacement companies wrote estimates showing cost of replacing the roof, but indicated the roof did not need replacement. So I didn't waste the money to replace a functional roof. Vonnie McDonald insisted my policy would be cancelled despite providing the documentation. There was also 19 month waiting list at the time to have a roof replaced which would extend past the policy renewal date. I provided the documentation and thought we were good to go. We renew in April, I get the renewal letter in March, sometimes February and we did not get one. I went to Vonnie McDonalds office to inquire and just make the annual payment. The y refused the payment stating they needed the renewal letter to accept payment. Something that had never happened in the ten years I have been paying for State Farm insurance. It turns out the inspector has the power to cancel policies according to Vonnie anyway and despite the inspector cancelling my policy two months after the letter was sent, State Farm and Vonnie McDonald strung me along for ten months saying everything was good to go, so they didn't have to give me a refund. I believe I received $23 back once I figured out they were not renewing my renters policy. My renter is also a reservist, who served two back to back deployments and was not living in the rental property because of the deployments. Inspector not only decided I needed a new roof despite never inspecting the roof as security cameras do not show anyone performing and inspection of the roof until the roofers who came to provide estimates came out to look at the roof. The same inspector from State Farm decided he can determine a vacant home by looking at a house. Documentation was provided to Vonnie McDonald and to State Farm and we were ignored. They took our payment and intended to not provide coverage or renew our policy because we didn't need to replace the roof, but couldn't get a roof installed until four months after the policy renewal date. State Farm Vonnie McDonald dumped us and then a few months later had the audacity to cold call us to Insure our six cars and travel trailer with them. We can't trust we will be covered even if we pay the annual premium up front and I declined their offer to quote us an auto policy. The lady that called ended the call with a comment that I can keep my business elsewhere as we could afford the policy anyway. Never again will we use State Farm or Bonnie McDonald as an agent.

Therefore, I called around and had the best, most professional, and friendliest customer service from Amie Kim - State Farm insurance in Colombus. She picked up the phone herself as the owner of the agency and gave me by far the cheapest and most comprehensive quote. It was the only office where I got to speak to the actual agent, not their representative, and it was quick and easy. Amie is also an OSU graduate who has been helping students in the area for over ten years. She also has an expansive list of what most landlords and rental offices require, which was super quick. In less than ten minutes, I had what I needed. Highly recommended.

I probably only spent 15 minutes on the phone with her, and we were able to put together a plan that cut my car insurance costs in half, and she was very friendly and helpful with explaining how everything worked as far as payments go. She also provided sound advice on what she would include in her coverage, and it really only cost me a few bucks more a month. This will be the first time I've had a different car insurer, and I haven't had them long enough to say they are the best around, but Amie definitely started me off on the right foot, so for now, I'm very happy.

ews…read more Nanette Fabros in the last week Worst experience in my 40 + years. I have had STATE FARM INS since I was a teenager. That "should" count for something, mean something, not at this agen'ts agency, No. Erin takes no responsibility for her actions or staff, in fact she has enough assistants to not handle the work herself or even meet with a customer who requests it. This agent cancelled out - of my Saturday appointment the afternoon before, because: " I have a church meeting, sorry!" So I never met this woman, but her office messed up my insurance so badly, my rates have $$ gone UP thank you so much! In 30 years of car insurance my rates have never gone up because an agent cancelled out of a meeting to explain what exactly all the fees were for. No they gave me a stack of papers, I have dyslexia & disabilitie(s) and I made that very clear several times. Instead I get a lengthy email from her Office Manager about everything she did, in 3 pages worth of an email reststing everything I knew, like a spat with a nasty neighbor, on and on. Then I get another email from Miss Erin about how how great her agency is and she backs up her office manager 100 percent! Did I mention No CAR accident was involved with this hot mess? Just establishing a new agency because I moved to Ohio? I think any driver knows, that if this is what goes on before car issues occur, a time where you are already stressed out and maybe in shock and upset over an accident, is this how you want to be treated? The only good thing from this office was the young man, who was extremely polite when I walked into that office to sign documents. Was not the, I guess case worker, the manager, nor the agent heself. A kind office assistant, more assistants I ever seen or dealt with ever at an insurance agency. This young man said things like: No problem, yes I can help you with that, My Pleasure. Now when I think of car insurance I cringe & think of this terrible treatment, experience, the report I made to STATE FARM CORP. I also found out, a good thing to know, State Farm agents, not the corporation like I thought is where service begins and ends. That thing, unless you say "escalate," just you & that agent unless you switch agencies. State Farm 800 corrected the wrong address this office changed incorrectly after I personally corrected to my address, not my landlord's office, I changed all that online and they changed it back to an incorrect address. The State Farm 800 lady in 15 minutes explained nicely what that stack of papers & divided out what 6 months of combined payments were for me, what I asked for to begin with. Do you want to know what your MONTHLY bill is and what the fees are and what the payments are for? Do you have to tell agents that chunk sums are not really what you want to know, but the bottom line monthly bill is? Now you get in a car accident, a deer jumps in front of your car, you want to deal with telling an agent, sorry their assistants to explain in plain and simple terms? I had car issues, traffic bumps and you want a nice person to make things easier, don't you? And if you are older, maybe a baby boomer like my parents, you want them to have someone who understands them and help them not create stress for them. All this happened and got heated thank you, over Christmas. During that time I had another local agent, FARMERS INS close by gave me fruit for Christmas because she loves my dog and we chat, and I sat down in her office, no problem and went over car and renters insurance nicely, like a neighborly business does. Glad Yelp offers reviews because Car Insurance is no little matter and it costs a good portion of our income. Unbelievable
