During this current heat wave of 100 degrees our AC blew. I called Jesse's Air Systems as we have used him in the past for a another issue. I asked if he could come out and check the system. Even though he was extremely busy, as one would expect, he came out and gave us the bad news that the condenser was dead. We new it was going to happen at some point since it has been here before we bought house in 2010. It was a very old AC that was not efficient at all. When my AC unit broke down in 100 degree heat, I needed help immediately. Jesse was booked up but managed to squeeze in a service call same day and had my system up and running again in around 30 minutes. He was able to show me exactly what parts in my unit had gone bad and get the repairs done fast. He even took the time to clean out all the debris that had accumulated on the outside AC unit and gave my wife and I some great pointers on how to keep our AC in good shape. (UPDATE: 10/24/2015) The Capacitor he installed died in a year. Life span shorter than the original capacitor. I even paid for the extra "Hard Start Kit", that didn't help. Called Jesse again for help, left a voicemail. No response. My advise look elsewhere. ============================================= My AC stopped blowing cold. I diagnosed the compressor didn't kick-in as it should. Since it was a very hot week, the kids were suffering at night with the heat so I didn't want to try and fix it myself and prolong their agony... Called Jessie since all the Yelp reviews were favorable. Sure enough, he came to the same conclusion and said the compressor did not kick in. The running capacitor was blown. He replaced the capacitor for $250 and offered to install a "Hard Start kit" for another $200 which I agreed to. Google what a AC Hard Start kit can do for you and how it can save money on running costs and and maybe prolong the life of your AC compressor. He spent around 30 minutes and the total job came to $450. Overall he and his son were very nice and pleasant to talk to. *** FYI: If you are handy person and have basic knowledgable of home electrical circuits you can buy the parts yourself and replace the running capacitor and even add the hard start kit for around less than a $100. There are a lot of Youtube videos on the subject. If you are unfamiliar with electrical circuits dont even attempt this. *** read more

I am thrilled that yelp steered us correctly again and that's how we found Jesse. I called because our central heater downstairs stopped working. I called him Saturday night and he although he doesn't work Sunday's he said he would still come over and diagnose the problem. That way on Monday he would know what part to get and be able to fix our problem right away. Sunday afternoon he comes over right on time and climbs into the attic. Within ten minutes Jesse finds the problem and being the honest man that he is informed us that we didn't need anything and that all he needed to do was fix the hose that had gotten punctured. Since we had enough hose left to resolve the problem we didn't have to buy a replacement part. I really appreciated his honesty and was glad that we found someone trustworthy. He even went and checked our air filters and gave us recommendations on which ones to buy at Home Depot so we don't overpay on filters. Problem solved and it was a great experience. Working in the commercial HVAC field myself, I was hesitant to call anyone before I attempted to repair my condo's rooftop package unit first. After personally troubleshooting the unit myself, I replaced a bad indoor fan motor which I ordered from EBay. When my work failed to resolve the initial problem, my wife suggested I call someone more familiar with residential units. I reluctantly gave Jesse a call and rather then shame me for attempting the repair myself, he followed along patiently step by step what I already tried and then offered solutions based on my units particular issue. After sending him a few pictures of what I already did, he was able to send me a great quote by the end of the day. AC was blowing hot air today, so I called Jesse based on his positive yelp reviews and his location being local to me. He answered the call and I explained the problem. He asked me to check the AC unit to see if Edison had installed a device. Wasn't sure what he was referring to but he told me that I would see a blinking green light if it was installed. Sure enough I went to check and there it was....flashing and preventing me from turning on the AC. I forgot I had signed up for the Edison Summer Savings program which disables your AC during certain peak times. Called Jesse at 3pm and told him I thought my AC needed Freon. He arrived at the house at 4:30 pm and proceeded to check the AC unit. Sure enough it was 5 lbs low on Freon. He washed the AC unit and refilled it. Sure enough my AC was now pumping out nice cold air at 54 degrees instead of the 72 degrees before. Jesse never tried to up sell me or find anything else "wrong" with my system. He just did what was needed. Freon is crazy expensive at $40 a pound. But I noticed he was still charging less then another AC repair guy that was reviewed on yelp and his service call was a very reasonable $65. Around June 21st we contacted this company to come out and service our a/c unit...being that we were in the middle of a heat wave we were happy to get jessie to come out as quickly as he did. Upon inspection we were told the fan wasn't working and that we would be needing a new unit. We had an hour to decide if we wanted it installed and he would be gracious enough to get it done Friday two days later . Luckily we didn't make an impulse decision and decided to get a 2nd opinion. Our new a/c man looked at the unit and told us Thermostat was left unwired(jessie thinking we were going to purchase the new unit), Panel was loose, fuse box was put back properly and a button was pushed in turn saving us $4870.00.
