I would give a ten plus to this service. My capacitor went out on my central air conditioning at 4:00 p.m. on the Saturday before Labor Day. The outside temperature had been running in the 117 degree range for a few days and was to continue for a few more days. I called a top air conditioning company in Upland, and was told by their answering service that they would call me back on Tuesday after the holiday. I have been collecting contractor referrals off of Nextdoor.com, so pulled out my listing of about a dozen air conditioning companies with high references. My heater was broken and I wasn't able to get a response from 4 other places over the course of several day. I called Jesse and he called me back within minutes. I was able to set up an appointment for the next morning. He gave me a two-hour window. 9-11am When that two hour window came and went plus another half hour I called him. He gave me another two hour window 12-2. I know he is the owner/operator and sometimes jobs run over but a simple call would have been appreciated. He was not apologetic about missing the time or the lack of calling. By this time I was sick of the cold and frustrated other places weren't even getting back to me, so I reluctantly decided to have him come out. If he was the first contact I would have called someone else right then, but alas... He came, checked my HVAC, and said he would be back on another day when he could get the part. Day scheduled arrived and I leave work early to rush home only to find that he wasn't coming that day. The part wasn't available. It would have been nice to know, especially since he did contact me with a quote. I scheduled for him to come another day. The day arrived and he was on time and really quick about fixing and replacing my broken thermostat. Unfortunately he didn't ask me what type I wanted ( I had a programmable one), and he ended up replacing it with a cheap non-programmable one. He charged me $100 for that cheap thermostat that probably cost $20. Now I need to get a programmable one. More money spent. So overall, he can get the job done, but don't expect to be treated like a valued costumer. Expect to wait around and spend way too much. I tried installing my new Nest thermostat, but it caused my AC to completely stop working. My house quickly became an oven it was so warm. Our air conditioning stopped working in the middle of a heat wave and Jesse was there to save the day. I called multiple companies and was told the earliest apt was in a week. There is never a good time to have to purchase a new A/C system, but when we did I am glad we used Jesse's. He had it up and running a couple days after we confirmed our order. It's hard to trust people out there and after having a rental property to manage for five years and getting burned I have learned some lessons. Let me start out by saying if I could give more than 5 stars I would. I have worked in a dental office in Chino for 5 years and that entire time dreaded summer. The air conditioner was never able to keep the front office cool. I see the one star review and don't get it. They have always been super responsive. The first time I called them was years ago. The unit I had was the original heating and air that came with the house built in 1975. We couldn't afford to get everything replaced and he helped us on the spot. If you live in Ontario, you know the summers are brutal and they were honest about the unit how long it would last and regulations on Freon (what we used back then is no longer available). So when it came time to replace it again, we knew we had to do the whole thing. We did what most people do, I used a website that sent me three to four referrals and we called Sears. It can be a daunting experience when dealing with these people. They want you and your husband home, give you 1 1/2 hour presentation and then Sears drop the bomb with a $13,036 price. Of course we didn't have that kind of money and we could have used their credit or even the HERO program (do you homework on that), which Jessie could too. But go in with the understanding that using the HERO program will be lower payments on paper and it's attached to your house taxes (so that's has to be your choice) However, Jessie came in with a doable quote and was able to the exact and I mean the exact same thing as Sears for a difference of -$4,000. He was kind enough to work on payments with us and did the complete install in 110 degree weather. Say what you want about the hang up. However, we are calling these guys when it's the hottest and they are usually on the job when you call. I don't believe they're being rude, when a conversation is over (as I do) I hang up. I had four total contractors come to my house and was relieved when I found their number. As far as itemization of what is installed. I was given a full receipt of everything done and he explained my warranty on top. Dont be fooled by bad reviews. I wish I would have taken a picture of before and after. But I did not expect to do a review. I was just looking up the number again to pay my balance. They do not B.S. They put in a 4 ton 16 seer unit by Goodman and research that also. In the middle of this crazy heat wave, my two year old unit stopped pumping "cooled air" so I panicked and started making calls. Jesse got back to me right away (even though I could tell he was on the job and busy). Jessie told me he would try to get to my house by the end of the following day. Jesse answers calls!!! My downstairs AC was broken and no air coming out... They troubleshooted the issue and came out with a sound diagnosis that needed a part..They didn't really messed around and took off to pickup the part before the part store close at 5pm (took off around 4:30pm)... I got several quotes for replacing our evaporator unit (thought it was all we could afford) and everyone except for Jesse, was pushing horrendously expensive systems which I could not afford. (They all kept pushing HERO and babbled on and on and a took a ton of my time trying to scare me about the condition of my present system and explaining why it was costing so much.) Jesse was my last quote. He came in, I spoke with him very briefly about what we were trying to do, and he spent about 10 minutes looking at what I had (all old and essentially not working or barely working) and gave me his price to replace my WHOLE hvac system. I was BLOWN AWAY! I could actually replace everything! He explained it was pretty simple and it would only take a day to do. I liked the fact that he did not try to scare me or make me feel dumb or try to talk me into a $12k system I could not afford. I appreciated his directness. The day of the installation went smooth as silk. His crew were friendly, courteous and very neat. And they worked fast. My AC was not blowing as cold anymore so I jumped on Yelp for ratings. I gave Jesse's a call and he came out promplty. In fact, he told me between the hours of 1PM and 3PM and was here at 1:30! Jesse and his son were very polite, prompt and corteous. When I advised Jesse that the last service I had was last year for freon charge he knew exactly what could be happening. A Leak! But he did say he can try a special solution that just might fix the leak but made no claims that it was 100% guaranteed. We talked about the least costly appoach was to replace the unit in the worst case scenario and it was a fair price. I just hope his little trick worked cause he said he's never heard that it didnt!
