Andy was incredibly cooperative and reasonable. Great price, great work. I could not be happier.

Andy is a great guy, honest and won't sell you anything you don't need! I recommend his shop to everyone who needs exhaust work, be it repair or performance. I called Andy inquiring about increasing my car's performance and Andy talked to me about how to do that while staying in my budget and not ruining the stock tune. He will work hard to take care of your vehicle and he will politely explain anything you have questions about. Andy is the man!

Andy is great. He installed headers , O2 sensor and X-pipe on my 60's Mustang. I recommend his work. He paid a lot attention to details. He welds are super clean.

Andy is great! Super friendly and well priced. Quality work. Only gripe is that it is so hard to get an appointment since he is so popular, but that is a good issue to have, haha.

Andy is a cool dude, straight up answers and honest with his work, let me see all welds and work he did before he lowered the car, I tried to show up early and there were people waiting already before the shop even opened up so try to make an appointment

Great service! Price was reasonable to compared to others. I had him weld tips I bought from eBay. He even showed me how to clean the mufflers! Would do business with again!

My exhaust recently lost a battle with the rock. It was quite a mess! I showed up at Andy's doorstep at 9 AM on Thursday. He already had a busy day but found a way to squeeze me in first thing in the morning. He did amazing work, super fast, at a great price! He was transparent, honest, and professional. I highly recommend Andy to anybody in need of any type of muffler repair. He is the real deal! Not only did he fix the problem, but customized my exhaust to match my needs.

Best muffler/exhaust shop in San Diego hands down! Andy has worked on both of my new vehicles now and both jobs turned out perfect. Highly recommend his work!

What can I say about Andy...Very honest and upfront, BEST price that you will ever find, willing to work with you before he even starts work on your vehicle. Called Andy and he was all about providing what I wanted and even wanted to offer to try several options to see what I would like and if I didn't want one option he will keep going until I was satisfied. I would like to emphasize BEST PRICE...All I can say is that he saved me several hundreds of dollars for the same install at another shop. He charged honestly and did the most outstanding job! Overall, very friendly and honest highly recommended for your exhaust needs and/or wants!

I always appreciated how they treated me when I came in - very professional and never condescending. On another note, when my son's car finally gave up the ghost, they allowed him to keep it there for a short time. I had to go in the other day to meet with the Cash for Cars guy and I am so grateful to this sweet, young lady named Kayla at John's who deserves a big shout out. First of all, it was hot, and she welcomed us in to this wonderfully air conditioned room, offering sodas, water or coffee as though we actual customers. Then she offered to help get stuff out of the car, brought the dealer in to us and continued to be helpful and kind. A really nice man, Brian came out of his office and offered a form for those who don't have the actual Pink Slip, which I discovered we didn't. At one point, the dealer came in shaking his head saying "no deal" because he couldn't see the VIN # on the windshield alluding that it had been scraped off and didn't match thr door VIN. He then promptly left. Kayla, having heard that he couldn't see the VIN, promptly ran back out to the car and discovered it was covered up by a Soapy Joe's sticker. She then ran back out to where his truck was parked to let him know. In the end, we still didn't get it sold bc we couldn't find the actual Pink Slip (which I told him about when he first got there), and he apparently didn't want to bother with the form. I felt like a spectacle in their office but everyone was so friendly and positive and helpful toward us that it made me feel ok. I shouldn't have been surprised because they have always been this way. This is how the world should be! This is how we should treat one another. I felt so grateful and I will be taking in a plate of something special for them as a result. On a.side and final note of observation, I overheard one of the other girls answer the phone and was so impressed with her professionalism and kindness to the caller. I bring it up because it means a lot to know you are being spoken to with dignity and kindness. Anywho, thank you John's and thank you Kayla for making my day just a little more special!!

Surprise $$$$ John's Automotive Up-charged me once I arrived. I walked out. Shame on these guys…read more They'll take you over the coals with Upcharges and work you don't need unless you do what I did, and that is to walk out and bring my business to an honest shop. I had no idea this was the same people as I had got a [crazy, inaccurate] quote from in 2018. I was quoted over the phone that a complete diagnosis would be $109. They had the make and model, knew it was a truck so should be no surprises when I walk in. RIGHT? wrong. "We like to get paid for our time"; dude at the counter. Then don't misquote customers in the first place. His excuse was, "well, we have to check the back of the truck too". Lame. Posted: are the two quotes for a diagnosis, one from John's and the next from a shop that I won't share here, where my truck is currently being serviced. Further, let's go back a bit in history. In April of 2018 I visited John's location on Riverdale in Grantville. My truck had registered a check engine, which turned up regarding emissions. What did "Johns" say and quote me? " Well, Toyota Tundras have four catalytic converters so you are looking at $3,270. out the door, you need to replace these, then you'll pass smog, clear emissions ". Problem: they got it way wrong: the 2000 Toyota Tundras have TWO catalytic converters mister grifters. After that B.S. I left. [2007s - present have four converters, so ketchup Bubs!] Next, I left and went to "Cardiego" on Adams Avenue. The owner checked the emissions signal and said, " all you need is your drive cycle reset. One hour later and $90. dollars later the work was done, truck passed smog and no more emissions issue. It was my mistake that I had no idea that this same outfit had a second garage in La Mesa, had no idea I was walking into the same line of talk and walk. I expect that the owner Mr. Joan will comment here something like this, " I am sorry you seemed to have this experience, because we don't have a record of you in our system " hmmmm... My response [following my laughter] is this: on 4/27 your computer generated the quote that I have posted here. It generated the information you had on my vehicle back in 2018 because you have my old plate number of 6E71244. So Jon, don't try to tell me you never had me in the "system" because if you had not noticed, I now have personalized plates, I haven't had the 6E7... plates for a while now. To be clear: my Tundra is the best year that was produced, it has been cared for only with master techs, and runs perfectly. Word to the wise: My recommendation is to go elsewhere to take care of your auto. **My truck needed the lower front ball joint replacement in the front only. The shop I went to even took out the $57. diag charge since I had the work done with them. It is silent and smooth as usual. There was no noise in the back and a quote on a diagnosis means you quoted me on a diagnosis of the entire vehicle. Bogus, no: I never "authorized" more diagnosis work. Just a foolish response below.

His pricing is hands-down the best around, and the quality of his work is outstanding. He's extremely knowledgeable and clearly knows exactly what he's doing, even with more advanced, technical repairs. I drive a 2020 Mazda CX-30 that's had multiple mechanical issues, and the dealership was quoting me thousands of dollars for repairs. Lee took care of everything for a fraction of the price. One job included replacing the rear liftgate latch assembly, which required taking apart the entire interior of the trunk. Another repair involved replacing the AC compressor, which I've learned is a common issue with this model due to faulty clutches. He's also done my brakes and rotors, and every experience has been smooth and stress-free. I truly couldn't imagine going anywhere else for service on my Mazda. Highly recommend!
