A dozen donuts, not just any donuts thee BEST donuts i have found in Bakersfield thus far! They are airy, crispy and soft inside. The service is always sweet and kind. She always throws in a free donut or donut holes. I wish their coffee was stronger but i get it not everyone likes strong coffee. read more

Our 2nd time coming in. The service is impressive. The lady behind the counter offered to make me bacon maple bars when asked. For $19 got 6 donuts and a cold brew can does seem high but I did get speciality options. The blueberry cake 5**** perfect. Cronut-solid *** I dont know if the dough was under proofed or undercooked but the middle was not done. The maple bars again i dont know if the dough needed more proofing time or more time in the fryer. First few bites were sugar salty heaven and then the middle not done. Again maybe they had a bad day but it is worth stopping in for the service and that Blueberry cake donut. read more

I don't stop often stop at donut shops but I wanted a coffee. About noon on a Saturday order a small black coffee, well, order a donut just because. The donut tasted fresh and the coffee was fine. The couple at the counter were attentive and courteous. Older place with a few tables to eat in. Clean enough. Price wise? I buy donuts so infrequently I can't comment. The place is old and the neighborhood has seen better days but no problems. I wouldn't drive across town (I'm not a donut snob) but it's a perfectly serviceable shop[ if one is in the area. read more

I purchased a 1/2 Dozen of Donuts (Ole fashions) what ever they used to cook the Donuts with had left a fishy taste on the Donuts.i also got an Ham and cheese croissant and the ham had a foul taste and was mushy. Way overpriced. 24.00 for 5 doughnuts and one buttermilk, plus 2 coffees!!!Ridiculous!!! Selection is small. The doughnuts were not tasty at all. They charge extra for "specialty doughnuts" which are NOT made with quality ingredients. The buttermilk was definitely NOT made with buttermilk. Coffee was watered down. I'll stick with Foothill Doughnuts, they taste way better and are better priced with excellent service. read more

I love that they're open late and for a large chunk of the day, you never know when a donut craving is going to kick in! At then end of the day, there is a very limited selection, which is to be expected, but the donuts are always worth it. Jess's Donut Shop is better than average and located on the East side of town. Stopped in for a quick snack. The cases were loaded with many options. I chose a Maple Bar and a Custard Filled Chocolate Donut. Decided to eat my snacks at their shop. I chose the table that looked least dirty. It appeared that their little dining area had not been cleaned in awhile. 2 stars for cleanliness on this visit. I am guessing that they are normally looking much better most of the time. The Maple Bar was larger than most donut shops. It tasted better than maple bars made at large grocery stores. Compared to other donut shops in town, I would say they were average. The quality of the ingredients was not grade A. So 3 stars. Custard filled chocolate donuts are my favorite choices when I visit a donut shop for the first time. Theirs was above average. Good custard to donut ratio. Would buy this one again. So 3.5 stars. Next time I am in the area craving donuts, I would stop in again. This little mom and pop donut shop looks adorable from the outside. The red and white peaked storefront reminds me of something out in the country or the old West. There is a very small seating area; there are only four sets of tables seating 4 each. It's not very fancy, and little or no effort has been made to decorate the inside. They have quite a variety of donuts. Most of them appeared to be about 90 or 99 cents each, though the custard filled chocolate frosted donut I ordered was $1.35. It was fresh, even though it was almost noon when I purchased it. The custard was delicious, and just the proper texture. Sometimes custard filled donuts can be a little soggy when they've been sitting too long, but this one was pristine. The chocolate frosting was chocolatey without eing overpowering. It's not close to home, but if I' in the area, I'd definitely pick up donuts here again. read more

From cronuts to bacon maple bars, the donuts here are always fresh and yummy! Their dough is light, moist and the perfect balance to their frostings and glazes. My favorite is the classic maple bar but if you don't happen to see your favorite in the case, be sure to ask them if they have any in the back. Chances are they are making more or willing to make you one. If you're in the area, definitely give Jess's a try. They do not disappoint. read more

The donuts are good but the service is crappy, We came in this morning and stood in line for 4-5 minutes (not very long), but when we were paying for our purchase the cashier named Carina allowed some else in front of us to order and pay at the same time. This lady just walked threw the door! When confronting Carina she said, " well she is a regular customer" . It shouldn't matter who is and who isn't a regular, they should wait in line just like the rest of us. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
