Very grateful to have a donut shop so close to our home - even more that it's Donut Star! We've been coming here since 2016 and I absolutely love their donuts. They're always freshly made, and offer a large variety. Their maple bacon donut is really good! My vice? Their apple fritters! Oh my goodness, I could eat these everyday! My husband usually picks us up some on the weekends and he himself stops in some early mornings to get their ham, jalapeño and cheese stuffed bolillos. During the NOR parade, we'll catch a spot nearby and get ourselves half a dozen to enjoy with some hot coffee. The owners are super sweet and always so kind. Very pleasant service. I have passed this place dozens of time but today was my turn for iffice goddies so i stopped. Free Parking lot or a few on street spots. $23 for 6 speciality donuts -pricey. Bought cronut (solid 4*), sausage roll $4.25 (inside doughy 3*), ham and cheese $5.95 (again doughy 3*), blueberry croissant $3.25 (ok 3*), cheese croissant $3.25 (4*). Since I moved to Oildale I've been coming here the young lady in the front is so nice and sweet, the baker too all saying hi or good morning, the donuts are so good! My bf likes the Maple Bacon my kids like the donut holes and I am classic I like the glazed or sugar twist and still never disappoints. It's always clean when I walk in, never seen it dirty or them cleaning mid shift just picking up some here and there the usual. The young lady in the front is fast and sweet, super helpful when trying to decide on what you need left when filling a dozen who knew it could be so hard. read more

Classic donut shop with amazing donuts and friendly staff. I always see this place busy on my way to work downtown every morning and decided to finally see what all the fuss was about. The donuts are soft and tasty, and the vibe of the store is perfect. Old school menu board, cappuccino drinks, fountain sodas, and plenty of donuts and fresh hot coffee. Omg! Great donuts and croissants! Co-worker brought donuts and croissants to work meeting yesterday. I tried half a jalapeño, ham and cheese croissant. Delish! Later I had half a cronut. Really good. I'd had dry cronuts before, but these had plenty of glaze and were so fresh! Told a friend about this place. She knew where. We went at 6pm on a Saturday. Full case of donuts. Staff were making more fresh while we visited. I ordered another cronut and a chocolate cake donut. Told the staff how good they were. They were so thankful. Very nice people. This place is a little mom and pop hole-in-the-wall donut shop that doesn't look like much from the outside. It doesn't really look like much from the inside, either. What is important, though, is that the people who run it are very friendly and the donuts are pretty tasty. Fellow Yelper, Kate B, and I dropped by for a little donut to be our dessert after having lunch at a local restaurant. She bought an old fashioned donut, and I had an iced chocolate bar. Both donuts were just the fresh and sweet tasting carbo-bombs that we were looking for. This location isn't too close to home, so I probably won't be here often, but If I'm in the neighborhood (possibly picking up coffee at Covenant?) I'd certainly consider coming back. read more

I was craving an apple fritter so I decided to drop on in. The building is not much to look at. If I was really picky, then I would just keep on driving past it. I was glad that I decided to give them a try though. I was greeted right away with a hello and a smile by the crew. They had all the usual suspects when it comes to donuts including the apple fritter. So, I bought that and a maple buttermilk bar. Both donuts tasted good. They were both fresh. The apple fritter was one of the better ones that I've had at donut shops in Bakersfield. Because of the good customer service and pretty tasty donuts that are affordably priced, I'd recommend you dropping in for some sweets. I was going between a 2 & 3 star here. The employees were nice but my donut was not edible. Got there just after 9am and the donut case was a little empty. My favorite is apple fritters. I didn't see any so I asked. They said about 10 minutes. I said that was fine. I had 30-45 minutes to kill. About 10 minutes later they told me my donut was done and handed me a bag. They said it was very hot so I left it in the bag and left. When o got where I was going less than 5 minutes away I tried my donut. It looked ok but the middle was all raw and doughy. It was not edible and I was in my large work truck so I didn't want to go back. I think they thought I was in a rush and hurried my order but I told them I was not in a rush. Anyways it was one of the worst I've had (I had a burnt one at a different place years ago that was close). Again the people were nice. The place wasn't the best kept or cleanest. I'd probably find another place to go to if I'm in that area again. read more

The owners/staff are very fiendly and always have a great attitude. The donuts are always fresh and tasty. They also have crushed ice which is always a plus! This was my first time going here in a long time. I went in today at 11AM and I was expectibg the donuts to not be as moist since it was later in the afternoom, but i was suprisrd to find out that these donuts were incredibly moist and quite tasty.
