I cannot recommend Jesus Auto Repair based on our experience with Jesus. We dropped off our car on June 23 because it was leaking antifreeze/coolant, producing white smoke, and overheating. Jesus diagnosed a head-gasket problem and said the repair would take approximately three to four weeks. We paid over $3,000 for the work, plus another $200 to repair the A/C, which stopped working while the car was at the shop. Less than a week after picking it up, we had to return it because it was shaking and not accelerating properly--problems we did not have before. Jesus later told us the white smoke had returned and that the head-gasket work needed to be done again. After the shop had our car for approximately two months, we picked it up on August 29. The A/C was not working, the car was still shaking and accelerating improperly, white smoke was still coming from the exhaust, and the check-engine light and engine warnings were on. The vehicle was in worse condition and did not feel safe to drive. We are now obtaining an independent written diagnostic and have saved our receipts, photographs, videos, and text messages. My vehicle developed what I suspected to be a transmission issue on the 405 fwy in the Hawthorn area of Los Angeles. I managed to pull off the fwy and slowly coast into this shop off the fwy that I found on this site. Without any evaluation the mechanic concluded that I most definitely had a transmission issue and decided that I needed to flush it out with new fluid at a cost of $300...ouch! I had no choice but to pay it. My vehicle managed to make it home. Unfortunately the problem reappeared the next morning. The mechanic's response was simply 'Oh well, looks like you need another transmission'. I can get you one for $1900 plus installation." Only review I've ever written just cause this was so bad. Honestly they're nice people (so 2 stars) but man. Went to them cause I had engine misfire. They said they'd replace the spark plugs and ignition coils and head gasket. Cool. They called me back, said that it didn't fix the problem, needed to do a valve adjustment. Alright cool sounds good. Fixed the problem. Everything came out to around $800, so not bad. I pull up to pick up the car, and it's making a weird noise. Sounds like a Diesel engine. They told me the car's fine, runs perfect, and the noise would only go away if I replaced the valves altogether. But they said other than the noise, car should be perfect. Said okay, went along my way. Car starts underperforming, seems weird, full tank went from 380 miles to 240. I take it to another shop for a separate issue, they hear the engine and ask me what's the story behind that. I tell them, and they said "it just sounds like they did the adjustment wrong. If they did it right it shouldn't be making that noise." So I pay another $900 at the new shop for another valve adjustment, and lo and behold car's perfect, no sound. Valves were fine, components were fine. Just the adjustment was wrong. Pretty disappointing and a huge waste of money on my end. read more

Jesus did good work on my cars when he owned and operated the shop. I took my car in to replace brake rotors and pads and was not happy with the wok. My brakes made a grinding noise that it didn't make before I brought it to the shop. The mechanic tried to convince me that the brakes were fine and that the noise would go away after driving it a while; it didn't. Worst shop!!! I brought my 1966 mustang to Jose I guess that's Jesus son that took over the business. He's was supposed to install a rack and pinion to the car the kit cost me 1400$ and he quoted me 400$ to install it. Brand new part him and his mechanic go and install the steering pump back word and blow all the seals on the rack. He calls me to tell me my part don't work and that it almost killed his employee. I get to the shop and they tell me the instructions are backwards UNISTEER SELLS HUNDRED OF THESE so I doubt the instructions were backwards. I CALL UNISTEER AND THEY CONFIRM THAT JESUS AUTO SHOP SPOKE TO THEM AND ONE SAID THAT THEY HAD INSTALLED THE PART BACKWARD AND THEY THEY MESSED UP AND HUNG UP THE PHONE. I talk to Jose and he tell me that first of all he had never done a job like that before and that he only quoted me 400$ for the job trying to Squeeze his little rat ass out the issue he tells me the best he can do to help me and to help him he can cover half the repair cost that was 350$. I end up getting my car out the shop and start to see what they did and lo and behold they did a half ass job on the steering wheel housing they couldn't even remove the original seal and plate that goes to the fire wall they just set it on top of the fire wall that was the stupidest thing any one can do there was nothing holding the steering column to the car what type of mechanic does that. Worst experience ever if he was man enough and called me over and told me what happen I would had worked with him but ones I saw they don't even know what they are doing why would I cover for half the repair. read more

If I can give it no stars I would. After Jesus and his pops left Jose is the new guy but his work is just awful. I left my bmw 328i for them to fix an oil leak and it turns out they charged me $1,700.00 and it's still leaking. They returned me the car and they messed up the footwell module and gateway module.
