What initially caught my attention with Jet Black Tints was their $399 promotional deal, which included free old tint removal and ceramic tint. It was a great offer, so I decided to give them a try. From the very beginning, Leo made the process quick and easy. I dropped my vehicle off at 9:00 AM to the Hayward location and received a text just a few hours later letting me know it was ready for pickup. I went in with an open mind and honestly wasn't expecting too much because I didn't want to set my expectations too high and be disappointed. When Leo brought my vehicle out, he explained that I shouldn't roll the windows down for 3-5 days and that I should allow the tint about three weeks to fully cure. When I first got into my vehicle, the front windshield was very hazy and difficult to see through. Since I understood that the tint was still curing--and this wasn't my first time having windows tinted--I figured it was part of the process and that it would eventually clear up. After giving it a few days and allowing my vehicle to sit in the sun to help expedite the curing process, the windshield did eventually clear up. However, I noticed that there were wrinkles along the corners, and all of the windows--including the back windows--had noticeable pockets of air bubbles throughout the film. I explained my frustration to my husband, and he reached out to customer service on our behalf. Our concerns were then forwarded to management, and that's when Raniyah stepped in. I have to give Raniyah a HUGE amount of credit. She was incredibly pleasant, understanding, and genuinely determined to make things right. She explained that the tint was covered by a lifetime warranty and assured me that the windows would be corrected. She also made sure that my vehicle would be taken care of by a master tint technician. A couple of days ago, I returned to have the tint redone and was once again greeted by Leo. I showed him the issues, and he was surprised to see how many air bubble pockets were throughout the windows. He reassured me that the master tinter would take care of everything. I emphasized that I wanted them to take their time and do it right, and I came back to pick up my vehicle once the work was completed. And let me tell you... WOW! My tints look absolutely immaculate and beautifully done! The difference is incredible, and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. Something about this whole situation feels strange. I specifically asked in great detail and provided all of my car's information. I was told there would be no problem and was even told that I could go ahead and schedule an appointment. However, when I called today to book the appointment, they told me my car doesn't qualify. Is it because my car's windows are too small? Or is it because my car is too expensive, and they don't think it's suitable for such a low-cost window tint? I honestly don't understand. This place is a scam life time warranty because they keep making mistakes for a basic ceramic window tint. I got my rav 4 done and they said for their basic plan the darkest I would be able to get them tinted is 35%. After i was done another customer went in and had the same plan they said he could get 25%. I walked in there and asked the employee if its the same plan why is his 25% and mine only 35%? He then goes and says cause you have a SUV i wish they provided those details. They did a halfazz job on my small quarter window and i had to go back to get it redone i tried calling multiple times no one picked up or reached back to me. The employee was telling me to come in another time cause they're super busy and i explained to him i just came in and you guys first opened its the smallest window it doesn't take that long to do it... then he finally accepted my request. Think you're getting a great deal? That's cute. It sounds amazing-right up until you actually show up. Suddenly, there are upcharges for tint percentage and quality, and apparently the "deal" forgot to mention your quarter windows...so go ahead and tack on another $140 for those. Oh, and if you have old tint? Surprise-that's another $200-$300. Would've been nice if that part made it into the fine print somewhere. Also, if you drive a stick shift, congratulations-you're now part of the service. They can't move your car, so you'll be sticking around longer than expected. And just when you think you're done, you're not. I had to come back because they couldn't figure out how to remove the rear third brake light. It wasn't exactly hidden treasure-in fact, it was pretty straightforward-but still something that should probably be in their skill set. To top it off, the job left a mess behind. Yes, my headliner is sagging, but a quick vacuum of the debris created during the work would've been the bare minimum. And look, I get it-slow days happen. But sleeping when a customer walks in? Needed some tinting on my new car windows and saw the Jet Black ad online for $129 for 5 windows which seemed pretty good. So clicked on the ad and made an appointment by phone for the Hayward location for the very same day. They have various upgrade options which were double and triple the quote. I still wanted just the basic $129 deal which was for their house ceramic tint. Also there was an up charge of $10 per window cos my windows didn't have frames, which wasn't mentioned on the ad nor when I booked the appointment on the phone. Anyway that was fine. Got the call about 5 hours later and went to pick it up. He told me they upgraded the rear windows tint for free which was nice. I was literally only waiting for less than 2hours. I had some bubbles forming on my rear window and it was starting to become an eye sore. The tint on my car looks amazing -- dark and clean on the back and sides, and the lighter heat‑resistant tint on the front and driver/passenger windows is flawless. The customer service was just as impressive; I was supposed to pick up my car at 4 PM. Although it took a bit longer than expected (I was supposed to pick up my car at 4 PM, but it was 5 PM). Friendly, professional, and truly focused on quality. They told me to leave my windows up for 3-5 days and not to park it in the garage so the bubbles will flatten out. You can communicate with them and do the appointment online , by phone or even do walk-in. They will comply immediately. And they do informed you as to when your car will be done. They had my rear windshield tint removal and replacement. Different choices of shade from 5% to 50% of ceramic type. You have to wait though for an hour due to the removal of the old tint (with a fee). For me, i'd waited an extra hours cause they have to do a pre-cut on the tint. horrible. i don't know about the other location however the one i went to at fremont blvd was completely atrocious. i got a 25% tint on my rear which was fine cool i chose that. but how they executed it was horrible. i even complained how theres so much bubble on the corners of the tint. they "tried" to fix it and tried to scrape it but it was also executed poorly. during that day it was also rainy, so they told me "it's cloudy and rainy but when the sun goes out the bubble will go away" which was concerning escpecially since i didnt know anything about tints. after a while i waited at least 3 weeks for the sun to come out and flat the bubble on my tint. guess what nada zero. yes the 99$ was cool n all with the 3 variation of tint lvl but the way how they did it was horrible. bring back the old days when they actually did tints good and the 99$ meant something. also if you have small window on the rear side they will count that so if you wanna get 5 windows tinted its the side rear windows (counting the smaller ones) and the rear mirrors only. go to another tint place im begging this place is ass. read more

This company is a scam. I ordered $99 static tint from this company in March 2025 and when it came in scuffed, damaged and cloudy, I called the company to report the problem. Katie the manager asked me to send her photos of the tint. She called me back and agreed that it was damaged and would send out a replacement. Months went by with no shipment, no updates. When I called again, they ignored me for MONTHS. I finally got a call back from Rania in APRIL 2026 (because Katie's a COWARD and was afraid to talk to me after lying to me). I got jerked around by this employee, saying they would send out the product and update me. Today, I get a phone call saying that they can't refund me because I'm past the refund policy even though they promised the product within 90 days of receiving the damaged product. This company is a bunch of lying scam artists. And for what? For a $100 product that they could have easily just refunded from day one. Don't trust them when they tell you they will send out your replacement product. They are just BUYING TIME so they can run the clock on your refund. I'm writing this, as i sit in their waiting room for my car to be finished. I set and attended my appointment on 03/21 @ 12:30pm. I dropped it off and was told that the tint service will be completed 2-3 hours later (2-3:30pm) Great. I called around that time to check if my car is ready for pick up. The customer service number is their online call center, and so Chance said he would call this location to check on a status update. He called back 10 minutes later saying that shop will need until 6:30 to complete the service as part of my windows "were hand cut" so i said okay maybe it's a little hard because of the convertible aspect of my vehicle. 6:30pm goes by, i call the shop because I haven't been contacted if it's ready or not. It's not ready again, will need until 8:30pm. Okay fine. Then 8:30, im at the parking lot of the shop. We checked in and only my quarter doors & back windshield of my coupe vehicle has only been done. I my main doors were still not finished. It has now been 8 hours and I realized, not once has the shop reached out to me. I have been calling to get my own updates because at this point, it seemed communication was not a standard. Patiently, I said okay. What can I do at this point, the car is not done. It's been 8 hours, no communication or update UNLESS I reached out. I've already paid $265. Day 2, I last minute requested for a half day at work since I was told to come in between 10am-4pm at the shop to complete my 2 doors and it should take 30 minutes. I arrived around 3:30-3:45pm. I walked in 3 males were also sitting in the waiting room, one was sleeping as he waits which is funny because now that im writing this, I see why the quality of the couch is amazing - service takes a long time. Anyways, Naseen greeted us and I told him the situation and that I am here to drop off my car to finish up yesterday's work. I requested kindly for them to give me a call when they start working on my car just so I know when to be around the area and wait for the 30min that I was told that service would be fully complete. Nothing. So of course I reached out again at 5pm to their call center customer service and spoke to Chance again (super nice and professional worker btw). He reached out to shop and asked for details. The service hasnt started for my car. The estimated time for completion would 6:30pm as stated and confirmed by the shop through Chance. I'm here now, on the comfortable couch, since 7:30. I had errands to run and arrived one hour later than the 6:30 estimated time. I figured - they haven't called therefore I assumed it's not ready. My partner and I asked, if it was finished. The guys in the back said 20 minutes wait. I started writing this review 5-10minutes after that as I wait- im frustrated. It's been 35 minutes now. Another delay. I am very disappointed with my experience here. I'm not the type to ask for discounts or to review but this inconvenience, due to lack of communication, is very very frustrating and disappointing. The quality of their work has always been great, but over the past few years, their customer service and pricing practices have become unacceptable. My most recent visit for my fourth vehicle was the final straw. It's a classic bait-and-switch. They quote one price over the phone or through Yelp, but then try to charge a higher price once you're at the shop. The excuse they give is that they're adding sales tax. This is a deliberate lie. There is NO sales tax on services in California. Furthermore, if you check out on their website, there is no tax charge. This time, I was dealing with who I believe to be the owner of the Redwood City franchise who said he was covering the Hayward location for the day. I asked for the same price I had paid just two weeks prior for my other Model Y. He quoted me an extra $20, which was already frustrating, but then he tried to add the fraudulent sales tax at the very end. The lack of integrity was the final straw. This deceptive practice is not just a mistake; it's a scam that preys on customers. Upfront and honest pricing is the foundation of repeat business. By engaging in these bait-and-switch tactics, Jet Black has lost a loyal, repeat customer. There are plenty of other reputable shops in the area that don't do this BS. I'll no longer be recommending this business and feel terrible for any other customer who has been misled by their pricing. Highly urge people to consider going somewhere else. I recently got my whole car tinted last time. I called left a voice mail. There's still some air pockets in the windshield that still irks me from time to time because it's still noticeable. I eventually gave up trying to contact them but it's there. I went there also recently for a single window. The representative that was working that had an attitude didn't want or sound like he wanted to help or want any business or at this location. I asked for a price he gave be a ball park estimate I told him what I wanted he still didn't know the price. So whoever was working on 5/26/2026 this review is for you. I don't usually do reviews, but the quality of the tint and the overall customer service here didn't leave much to be desired. Took my vehicle here for a full tint (fully entrusting that they would do a great job, they had my car for over 6 hrs, so one would assume....). I was so excited to pick up my car that it completely slipped my mind to do a quick quality check until I got home. After giving the vehicle a full inspection, I realized they broke one of the brackets on the hatch, damaged the rear hatch sunshade, and left a scratch on the rear right side of my car door! (my guess is that they were in a hurry and yanked the sunshade off, when it clearly just clips in place, and is easily removeable with very little force) The tint wasn't even fully installed on the rear windshield, it looked like they just slapped it on, and the tint wasn't even touching around the entire parameter of the window, every single edge was peeled up. Also, whoever was installing the tint and sat in the front driver side left a huge grease mark on my light tan leather seat. (luckily I was able to scrub it off) Seriously, is there no quality control here? Did they skip that process where a supervisor or manager performs an inspection to ensure that a job is done properly prior to releasing the vehicle back to the owner??? Needless to say, being pretty pissed off is an understatement. After having called the 888# and speaking to Katie quite a few times over the course of 3-4 weeks, it went from her initially being apologetic and saying they will cover the damages and to allow them the opportunity to correct their mistake and have the tint redone (literally every single window had multiple bubbles/flaws, the rear window was peeling off around all of the edges and the entire vehicle needed to be completely redone. I had gotten tint previously done and made sure to allow time for it to cure, did not turn on the A/C or defroster, open the windows, etc.). I had to call them again because the quality of the tint the second time around was still not acceptable (smudge marks literally on almost the entire parameter of the windshield, along with the tint film being warped in various spots). Left a message because they didn't pick up, waited a week and they never called me back. Was finally able to get a hold of them, and what turned into reassuring me that we would find resolution, now turned into them no longer taking any accountability for the damages incurred while my vehicle was in their possession. So the scratch on the side of my car that just showed up out of nowhere, and the damaged interior are now "my problem". Classic stonewalling. I've taken my previous vehicle here to be tinted roughly 3-4 years ago and it was a fairly good experience, a 99.9% perfect tint job, which is why I chose to return, despite reading the recent horrible reviews. Maybe this location is under new management, and the quality of the service has diminished extensively?? Whatever the case, it's just not worth the hassle. I definitely wouldn't ever continue doing business with a company that clearly does not stand behind their work. (Their "lifetime warranty" is a complete joke) I cannot, in good faith, see myself recommending this place to anyone, unless you don't mind wasting your money for a crappy tint job, that may or may not come with potential damages to your vehicle. But if you consider yourself a risk taker and you do decide to give it a go anyway, make sure you take plenty of photos and a video of your entire vehicle, so if they damage something and try to avoid admitting to any fault, at least you'll have yourself some "insurance". (Yes, it is truly sad that it has come to this, but just read the many other reviews with damages to their vehicles) Whoever they have working there are extremely careless, some proper training with their staff and how to be respectful of other people's property might be a good start. Seriously though, what in the F?! Just like, seriously, do NOT get your tint done here. After having to go back 3 times for them to get it somewhat decent, I still do not feel like it was worth the money spent. Not to mention the time spent having to reach out and explain the situation, and the numerous phone calls just to reach some sort of somewhat acceptable resolution. Having to deal with this was far too exhausting and a total waste of time. Do yourself a favor and spend your hard earned money elsewhere. I would also like to mention that the 3rd time I returned for them to fix the tint, there were 3 other parties within an hour who came in to report an issue with their tint.
