This store is rather nice and simple compared to the other Jewel Osco's I've been too. Everything is laid out nice and even, with the isles making it easy to find what I need to find. i was in the jewel in huntley and i had a bad experience with 2 of the workers. me and my friend were going to get food for dinner and we grabbed a cart and i was told i wasn't able to have the cart. so we left, and we were doing nothing but looking for groceries. then we came back later to try again and we saw the same lady right when we walked in and she gave us a disgusting look and she went to get the manager and told her that we were messing around. i was told once again to have my cart get taken away with all my groceries in it and i told her i would put it back myself, but she refused and took it. i do not appreciate these workers assuming that im some kid that's there to mess around. read more

If you lie with every breath you take, you'll fit right in at this pharmacy. Example: Called last Friday, "it should come in tomorrow." Called this Friday, "we don't get orders on Saturday's." The short-haired female pharmacist hates her job, probably hates her life and everyone who comes in the store. Always condescending, rude and as unprofessional as it gets. The sour look on her face never leaves. Terrible pharmacist and, perhaps more importantly, a terrible person to be working with humans. read more

Horrible management team! Please, don't send your kids to work here. My son was hired a year ago, we asked him to stay there at least a year to learn patience and persistence. BUT...the older ladies just enjoy bullying younger generation, especially quiet kids who don't talk back! Constant yelling and giving "worst chores" is just not acceptable especially when a person tries so hard, and knowing my son, I know he always put 100% effort. It got to a ridiculous point when I will be contacting union and corporation in Itasca. So fed up! Something needs to be don't to break that chain up. read more

The Jewel Osco is great. Love the renovations. Still hard to find some items, but after all I am not really the best navigating a grocery store. The atmosphere has been heavily improved. Not sure how it will fare with the local community; however, I can assert myself that there has been a great deal of improvement at this store. Recommend :) read more

We are not frequent Jewel shoppers because the prices are ridiculous regularly. We DO shop the sales, and if we really need something desperately, we'll pop in as this is really one of the closest stores we have to our home. Several times we've had issues here when trying to use coupons. And in most cases it'll work out in the end when we point out their coupon policy (really wish they'd educate ALL of their cashiers on the coupon policy to eliminate some of the scrutiny and time spent waiting for someone to come explain). And there's one particular woman we've encountered at the service desk that could use a lesson in manners. But, overall, a decent shopping experience and sometimes the deals can't be beat when there's a sale in combination with the use of coupons. read more

2.5 stars is kinda low, but I wasn't gonna rate much better, either. The produce section is dreadful. Even after getting restocked, berrys and greens must just go bad out here. Never had this issue in the city...it's so bad I make the haul to Fresh Thyme in Crystal lake just to know I'm gonna get produce that's been checked for spoils. The carts are fine. The shelf stable products are fine. The dairy sections fine. But that produce section needs some TLC. It should be the crown...ahem...Jewel...of the store.... read more

This store has so much potential to make a difference in its customers' shopping experiences-yet, it hires people who don't seem to like providing customer service. Time and again I have shopped there (since it is conveniently located across the street from Del Webb) and have found myself leaving angry. This time I asked an employee in the meat department if they carried party wings. He pointed to the chicken and said there's the chicken. There was a line six deep at the deli counter and the lady in the produce department complained about other customers. For a store utilized by so many senior citizens it would make sense that they make a practice of helping customers out with their bags but they don't. Neither do they offer curbside service. They seem to know they have a captive clientele and they are satisfied with mediocre service. It's a shame for my parents and all of their other customers. read more

Went in today for two items. Person was restocking in front of the items I needed. They proceeded to cough violently all over the product, apologized and then moved to the other side of me and continued coughing right next to me. They were not wearing a mask. I don't know if this person was sick or not, but please walk away from your customers if you are having a violent coughing fit. Covid is still going around, and I have immune issues. read more

How is this pharmacy ALWAYS out of medications? And why are the techs always snooty and disrespectful when you have questions. These are rhetorical questions that you'll deal with here. It's a 50/50 shot if you'll be able to get your prescription filled, and if not, they'll make you feel bad for not being able to wait (for your daily medication) to come in because they didn't order it in time. I am very displeased with the front end cashiers and baggers. They are so busy carrying on conversations with each other that they forgot to bag some deli ham for the customer in front me and tried to look for him and forgot to bag my cream cheese, it's only 5 bucks but that meant me going to the store again locally so I can have my bagels. I might never see a resolution to the 5 dollars but oh well. I wish I could give you 0 stars. read more

Jewel always have good sales. This one has a lot of clearance items. There hasn't been a time when less than half the stuff I buy is the wrong price. It's okay because it's better than shopping at Walmart. Staff is great and always happy. Lines are always quick. read more

They had whole pork loin on sale for$.98 a pound. Come to find out they only had one package that was 3 pork loins together with extra pork chops. Package was $16. Would not split it up. Kinda crazy. read more

We've been forced to do some grocery shopping here and I think it's terrible how they take advantage of the senior citizens that live across the street with their pricing! On top of that, dealing with the pharmacy is like the Spanish inquisition! If my wife, that has cancer, needs them to call her doctor for a new script and there's 500M questions! Just do your job! There are several things that are far from good, but I will only talk about one right now. Their produce. They are always out of stock on something. One week no green peppers, next week cucumbers, next week corn on the cob!(Seriously!??!) Strawberries that go moldy the day after you buy them, bananas that are always bruised, no Bosc pears, and other produce limp and going bad. Last Thursday I was there and there was a tray with 50 + bundles of broccoli siting in a tray ow water. There was a horrible odor coming from around that area. I tried and succeeded to find that the broccoli were sitting in disgusting water. Smelly with cloudy swirls of goop floating in the water. I informed the kid in the department and he acted like he did not have a care in the world, but said he would take care of it. 25 mins later, after I finished my shopping, I went over to see if anything had been cleaned up or changed. For years, the best place to buy flowers and especially roses in Huntley Illinois was the Jewel-Osco on route 47. The flowers were fresh and lasted longer than any other flower store's product in the area. But last week, I bought my wife 27 roses to celebrate my 27th wedding anniversary. After about four days, the roses started to wilt. At this point a week later, the roses are mostly dead. I paid A pretty penny for the arrangement, which was beautiful when it was new just a few days ago. I don't know what caused this. Perhaps not enough water was put into the vase originally... Your guess is as good as mine. I should mention that over the past 15 years living in Huntley, whenever I bought roses from Jewel-Osco they lasted two or more weeks which was always very impressive. There was only one store from where I would buy my roses and that would be Jewel-Osco. I am extremely disappointed with the longevity of these flowers. read more

Went there the Sunday before Labor Day. The manager throws a inexperienced person on the Deli that night. Every slice of lunch meat took five seconds. The line of customers grew. I left as did others. Our time has value too. If the Jewel management can not train people properly, or have adequate backup, why are you a manager? read more

I just can't say enough about the store manager, Carrie and the employees at this Jewel Osco. I had a health issue several days ago while at the store. Carrie and two other employees came to my aid and went well above and beyond what I expected. I honestly don't know what I would have done if they had not been there. Thanks So Much. read more

I can't believe that you changed the whole store around. You need to know the audience - mostly people from Del Webb. We're older and don't want to walk all over looking for everything. Putting the coffee in the back left corner so we have to walk from one side to the other is ridiculous. You were a little worried when Walmart moved nextdoor. I plan to go to Walmart now. Jewel's prices are ridiculously inflated. What is particularly discouraging is that the quality of much of their perishables is clearly sub-par. In a compare of three types of produce?, 3.49 lbs. of yellow onions, three heads of garlic and one bunch of celery, the Huntley Jewel-Osco was 87% higher than Mariano's. For just three types of vegetables Jewel was $11.16 versus $5.98 for Mariano's. Also, be sure to check the dates on their offerings. read more

Great store if you are careful you only purchase sale items. The regular priced items are way over priced. Best to use coupons coupled with their app. Most staff is friendly and helpful, but there are a couple that shouldn't be in customer service. read more

The prices charged at this store gouge its relatively captive Sun City customers day after day. Example: Bananas that sell for 39c a pound just a few miles down the road are almost always Jewel-priced at 59c; that same coffee filters that sell for $1.69 down the road sell for $2.89 at Jewel; the same brand of yogurt that sells down the road at 55c sells at Jewel for 65c. On top of that, Jewel likes to mess with people's minds by creating buy-one-get-one deals on which they substantially up the price on that first unit. My advice: Avoid this store like the plague. You've got other choices if you plan well - Woodman's, Meijer's Caputo's and Walmart, the latter at least for fresh(er) produce and most essentials. read more

This is for the pharmacy department. My parents have been shopping and using the pharmacy for approximalely 10 years since moving to Del Webb. My father (who usually gets his meds from the VA) started using a Nebulizer and ordered medication through Osco, at a price of $118. When it needed to be refilled we decided to pick it up at the Schaumburg store #3308, because my parents were staying by us. Renee the young woman who helped us looked to see what she could do to help with the cost. She looked at his Part B and asked if we owned a Nebulizer (which was purchased at Huntley location in 2008) which reduced his cost to $10!!!!! How did Huntley not take that extra step to see how they could save them some money? It took a new location to save them money. Very disappointing, that the employees my mom has known for years didn't have that knowledge or care to go that extra step. When we returned to store, they returned difference in cash but really didn't seem bothered about the incidence. read more
