Can Jewel Osco get rid of the digital coupons??? Just put items on sale period!! Every time I shop at Jewel and have clipped my digital coupons, one or more do not work and have to go to service desk for adjustments. It has been soooo annoying. Tried there app out to save money.. What a joke.. It doesn't scan right, you got go over your receipt with a fine tooth comb and 9 times out of ten go to customer service to get it straightened out.. I am always happy to come to this jewel because you find food that no other place has. They have an isle with gluten free food but management told me they are moving everything around. This jewel is very well equip with dairy free ice creams, yogurts, cheeses. They have all nations foods so you can find everything here even a huge selection for toys read more

Update. This Jewel has "updated" its interior. Nothing else has really improved and the overall stock of items has declined. Do not use Jewel Saint Charles grocery delivery. They never showed up with my order and charged me for it. Ryan the delivery manager blamed it on the service that Jewel uses. My husband went in to inquire about a refund and the customer service representative would not take ownership for the mistake either. I talked to the store manager, and 3 online delivery reps from Jewel all promising a refund. I received 1/3 of my refund. After countless hours I still have not received the full amount due to me. The whole experience was frustrating and a waste of time. Nary an apology from the store was issued. Order at your own risk! read more

Good bye Jewel, so done with you. The produce is marginal and the prices are soaring. Today I went in to get a few things. Strawberries was one item. I bought two cartons which showed a price of 3.99 but 99 cents on sale. When I got to the register it did not take the sale price. When I inquired, I was told I needed to have the Jewel app and scan the code to get the $3.00 discount. Really? So only the people who allow you to gather their data through this app, get the discount? So bogus. Everyone should be able to get the discount. I've been a long time (40) shopper of Jewel. No more. I've had the member program card that went by the wayside and received embers little benefit from it, and now you want me to use an app. No thank you. This review is regarding the deli. Here you will meet the most miserable and rudest people on the face of the earth. Because they are union, they cannot be fired. They are also, after working there for years, have no clue what a pound should be. A pound ends end a pound and a half and they say it's a little over.Perhaps bad management directs them to do so. The store is fine, however, I was in the self checkout the other day and experienced extreme rudeness from an employee. She had tan/ orange colored hair that was long and she had bangs. she was on the shorter side, very pretty, tan skin. However, she was SO rude to me. I asked a SIMPLE question about instacart since I am new to it and she told me "if you don't know then don't do it" and then turned to the elderly lady next to me who had accidentally scanned an item twice and needed it removed and the employee rolled her eyes at the elderly customer, let out a loud sign to show she was annoyed and I could tell the lady was extremely embarrassed. Man!! The pharmacy is NOT helpful!!! I've been given the run around on this script that I need from my psychiatrist, and the office states that there was a refill request FROM JEWEL, and that I need to deal with the pharmacy! Called the pharmacy after being on hold for over 20 minutes, and the pharmacist was THE MOST UNHELPFUL PERSON!!! She had no idea what the hell I was asking, even though I stated my problem TWICE to her, then said 'well we would have to call the doctors office'. Yeah PLEASE call them because I'm sick of playing monkey in the middle!! Decent place because they are open 24hrs but god forbid if you run into any problems. I moved to Illinois a year ago and it's still not clear to me how Jewel has survived so long. My list of complaints is very long but there are a few fundamental flaws here. Most of my visits involve me listening to an argument or uncomfortable discussion between employees after waiting in a huge line. So far I've learned that Jewel and Osco are two separate things, most employees who are stocking in aisles have no idea where anything is and looking for items is like a Where's Waldo book. Two good things- their fried chicken is tops and the home made tortilla chips are excellent. I still shop here on occasion but the rest of my family would rather brave Meijer, Target or even Wal Mart despite the added drive. read more

On April 10 there was a young man behind the deli counter that was the rudest person I have ever encountered in any store. The first letter of his name is S. The customer standing next to me heard how this young man was talking and said "he is the worst- he really messed up my last order." I grew up going to Jewel Osco in West Chicago. Jewel is where I have *always* gotten my groceries. For 30 years. Until today. Today I had met up with a friend who gave me a cut of salmon to try. Well, I was walking and had to get to Jewel for my actual dinner. Less than 5 minutes in the store and I'm accused of shoplifting. Shoplifting the salmon that Jewel doesn't even sell. I tried to explain the situation, but the employee was just giddy to have caught a shoplifter and never let me finish a sentence. At this point I had it and let them know it - all the way out of the store. Yes, it was immature, but I had just been wrongly accused of theft & threatened with police action if I didn't leave. So I'll never return to Jewel Ocso St. Charles again. 2 competitors within a mile, so it's no inconvenience. read more

Went to the deli today Father's Day the 18th. Lady at the deli gave an insanely b****y attitude when we asked to samples. She was slow in serving and rolled her eyes with every request. This is by far the worst Jewel I have ever been to! There is never anyone at the customer service desk, there are never enough cashiers open. The employees don't seem to care about anything. It is an obviously poorly managed store. It is in need of a new look and better produce. Also there are SO many handicapped spaces (somewhere around 25 I believe) that you have to put on hiking boots just to get to the door! Whenever possible I shop at another Jewel. read more

I've been to several Jewels over the years and in general I use them for my grocery shopping. For whatever reason, I can never find what I am looking for at this particular Jewel. It is borderline bizarre. I can go to any other Jewel and find what I'm looking for but this one either has stuff in different spots, or just doesn't have what I need. read more
