As is the case ase with most grocery stores Jewel-Osco has an app with rewards. I HIGHLY suggest that you get it if you shop here. This one is usually well stocked and has frequent clearance on meats and various dry goods! But I was able to run in and get fresh Ingredients and chips for taco night for a family of 6 for $30 after using the coupons on the app. Keep in mind I already had the meat but I got nearly everything else on this trip! The worst customer service. The manager Tanya at the cashier checkout was really rude with me and didn't care, my 10 year daughter was with me. She argued about wrong pricing on the cereal labels and told me I should go and get the right one, I told her she shouldn't argue with a customer instead she should fix the problem and she didn't care about my opinion , she said " whatever " and was yelling . Wow. The floral department used to be great but I just purchased a "dozen" roses which ended up being TEN actual roses with two stems with the flowers cut off. WTF happened with this place? Additionally, the roses I DID decide to keep (out of laziness I assure you) they are not drinking any water and will not keep even after the "sell by" date. This Jewel location is the worst at everything; produce, products, customer service (especially). Go to another location or another grocer. Don't waste your money here. read more

I live in between this Jewel and the one on Randall road and I prefer this Jewel. I like the setup of the aisles here and I really like how organized their organic aisle is. They also stock some organic yogurts and refrigerator items that I don't normally see at other grocery stores. Just be careful, as sometimes their sale signs can be misleading. I've purchased things multiple times that were on a stack out or end cap and they rang up a different price. An example one time was purchasing a case of ice mountain water that was a bonus pack (I think 32 or 35) bottles and there was a huge sign that said Ice Mountain waters for $3.99, but the fine print at the bottom said for a 24 pack. Yet, the display ONLY had the bonus pack cases. Why was there a sign on that display of waters if it didn't apply to them?? It rung up $7.99. They ended up giving it me for $3.99 and said that it was their fault for mislabeling. Definitely keep an eye out for stuff like that. read more

Two things they could improve upon are the speed of deli counter service, it's slow, and the angled produce lines because when it's crowded, it's hard to escape from the long diagonal rows. read more

Our refrigerator needs to refill some food and drinks. So my husband and I decided to go to this grocery shop. My husband gets a cart and he's pushing it while I'm choosing and putting what we choose in a cart. It's easy to find what we are looking for since they have every selection in their products. They are organized as well as the inventory was full. When it gots empty or sold they will fill it immediately. We went to the selection of chocolates since our kids love it. We bought hershey, dairymilk, kisses and toblerone. Then we went to the selection of soda and juices. After that we bought some fruits and veggies that needed to be refridge. Luckily it's fresh and good to eat. We spend just 1 hour buying all we need and thanks to this store we bought and found everything we need. So we highly recommend this grocery store. read more

Avoid the flowers! We did our wedding flowers here and regret it fully. We showed Sandi pictures of what we wanted/expected. We confirmed and had all over our order sheet "burnt orange" calla lilies. I go in a few days before the wedding and the calla lilies are yellow and red... Sandi said I wanted a "fall" theme. No. I never said fall for the theme. Our theme was Chicago Bears with burnt orange and navy as our colors. So she said she can fix it and I thought ok great, no worries. Day of wedding: we have one of the groomsmen pick up all the flowers and she then had brown calla lilies so decided to not use those... so she made the decision, without even a call, to make all rose bouquets in coral... coral! Roses! I was beyond livid and nothing could be done to correct it. I called Sandi right away and of course got the run around, on my wedding day... My flowers were ok, small bouquet of white calla lilies. All white flowers were correct. But we received coral roses. Roses! I ok'd mixing ORANGE roses in with the calla lilies to ensure we had the orange effect. But no, we had almost pink flowers to go with all our orange accents at the church, venue, etc etc. My pictures will forever be ruined by the flowers I so wrongly received... read more

This is like the third time that the price does not match the item. Those big orange stickers or signs that say "buy one get one free" don't work sometimes. Deli Department - March 13, 2021 around 4:00pm No customers at the counter, 3 deli guys working. 3 minutes for acknowledgement. Finally, a young African American man with dreadlocks, no hair net asks what I would like. I tell him I would like a 1/2 pound of the low sodium ham. He then tries to put on gloves, not joking for 5 minutes. Finally Barely gets them on and he asks again, what was it you wanted? At this point, I told him I wanted a 1/2 pound of the low sodium turkey and ham. He finds the turkey and proceeds to slice the turkey. His glove broke and he kept asking another worker for larger gloves. Slices 3/4 a pound and almost forgot to put the sticker on it. Then he proceeded to look for the lower sodium ham and was now going to have to go in the back to get it. He looks back at me as he was walking in back and now his mask is under his nose. Come On!!! One of the other 2 deli guys standing back there doing whatever finally asked if I needed help and I told him to tell the other guy (African American) to forget it, I don't have another 10 minutes to wait!!!!! I live within literal walking distance of here. This grocery store used to be great - the past year or so it has gone downhill. Meat/poultry is usually at date or the next day - and still overpriced to boot. Produce is usually of great quality, but really overpriced. If it is on a good sale, chances are it's bad - especially potatoes. Make sure to check dates on dairy items. Aisles are more crowded too - store is a bit claustrophobic and chaotic. What's worse (yep!) is the staff. Not all of them, but most. Unprofessional, rude and would rather talk to each other then check you out and get you on your way. Co-workers yelling at each other, complaining to others about someone....and sadly I'm not sure they even realize how ridiculously inappropriate they are being. Again I go here once in a while because it takes about one minute for me to get here by car so I can't rate it one star. I go when I run out of something I need ASAP - and they have a great selection of items. I will give them that. But for the bulk of my shopping I am elsewhere. I live in NC but as I am currently visiting family in the area, I decided to stop in a couple times to pick up a few things. Right now the ONLY redeeming quality of this store is the incredible close proximity to my mom's house. This place used to be fantastic, but seriously has gone to hell. It's quite cluttered, seems dirty, carts are hard to come by and the employees have gotten quite rude and nasty. Example, after I was done shopping this afternoon the woman checking me out decided that was the perfect time to start complaining to another employee about some guy "not doing his job". In front of customers? And then barked at the bagger to get carts. Incredibly unprofessional, and the fact that I was not acknowledged after saying "Thanks" and "Have a good day" was not surprising at all. Also, today was apparently "Stock and clutter up the aisle Day" and it was nearly impossible to maneuver around everyone. When I had to get around the stockers they acted annoyed. I'm not unreasonable and I know they have a job to do but is it too much to ask to be courteous and nice?? I guess living in North Carolina has gotten me quite spoiled on good hospitality, but no matter what this store is NOT the fantastic place it used to be. Next time I'm going to Woodman's. read more

I just left the pharmacy and the pharmacist was extremely rude. I was standing next to the "Please Wait Here" sign waiting to be assisted. There were no other customers but the wait was several minutes while the pharmacist was busy filling other orders. Not a big deal all! A gentleman came up and stood next to me with the sign between us. The pharmacist came right over and said "I can help you." I stepped forward and she shot me a dirty look, looked back at the gentleman and said "Sir, were you here first?" I explained I'd been there, waiting and she shot me another dirty look. This jewel has gone way down hill. Not open 24 hours any more. Limited selection, no more big cans of soups. Been out of quarts of cottage cheese for weeks now trying to get you to buy 1/2 pints for the same price. Soda is only on sale if you buy in bulk. You really have to watch the screen when they scan items. I've had so many experiences where their sale items don't ring up at the sale price. So then you have to tell the cashier, they'd have to call it in, wait for the call back...and you're holding up the line. What a waste of time. Update your system! You charge enough for your products that you can afford qualified people to do that for you. The only reason I shop at this Jewel is that it's on my way home. And also HORRIBLE customer service, this past weekend Jewel turned me down because my License just went up for renewal this month and didn't have time to make it during the week down to the DMV to get it renewed. I shop there often....almost every day. When I walk in the door I often see someone named "Ellen"... According to her name tag. Ellen is incredible...her smile alone. I live in the area and it's a terrible representation of our community!! I would love to select more than five stars in this experience we had at the flowers section. We met this beautiful woman Sande, I with all my heart want to thank her for this amazing journey she started with my flowers for my wedding. My fiancé and I went in there with no idea what to do with my bouquet and my fiancés bout. She gave us many options and gave us a every specific detail we needed for us to keep the flowers fresh and beautiful for the big day. I have no words to explain how thankful I am for her, I know I keep on repeating but I'm in shock. She looked at me like I was part of her family and it was very touching. I suggest that everyone should not hesitate and check Sande out. All the flowers at jewel are amazing and smell like your in the garden yourself. Don't think about it twice. So I've shopped here on and off for a long time, And I've finally decided never to go back. I like to shop at times when I know the store should be slow because I don't like the long lines. The past 3 visits have been met with lines 20+ carts long with only one register open. I understand the stores save money by keeping less registers open, yet it reaches a new low. I shopped for 20 minutes, then headed for the check-out. After 25 minutes in line behind 27 other carts for a single open check-out, and only a bit less than half way through the que, I decided to abandon my cart and leave for another store. There were also other customers that were angry or irritated and asking about additional service counters. I had asked the manager before I left if they would open another lane, yet receive a sarcastic look as my reply. After I left, I called to tell them that my cart was still in the line and I'd not be shopping there any more. Their only reply was "Wonderful!", and they hung up! This store is only blocks from my home, yet I know that I will be saving much more time by driving the 4 miles west to some of the other grocers where I will get reasonable service without the ridiculous waits in line. My time is too important for me to spend waiting in line for what would have been an additional 35 minutes. read more
