Well right when I get there there's cars parked all over in the Trailer parking area which makes it difficult to maneuver for us towing a long truck and boat. Then to lessen our experience even more we get to the dock to launch the boat and both of the docks are covered in dog poop. I never seen anything like that. If we're trying to follow the rules why are we walking through dog poop to visit the Lake. And lastly again not to try to upset anyone but why are people allowed to fish from the dock and slow and even hinder us boaters. It's just aggravating.

There have been so many changes in recent years due to the new addition to Westgate Elementary School next door. The parking lot coming in off Hascall is completely different. The park itself had some construction in recent years. The scary and probably dangerous tunnel has been leveled and replaced as has the sidewalks, stairs, and pathways around it. There's all new playground furniture. The dense tree line separating the park from the mortuary next door is gone. There is still a lot of open land to walk my dogs. I always feel pretty safe here, especially now, though there are always some randos sitting alone in their cars but I suspect that's all parks.

If your dog likes water, there is a gate to the lake next to the park which is fenced in with the fence running down to the lake. This allows your dog to go for a swim. It's a really nice park in the middle of Papillon. There is a small amount of parking (4-5 cars) and during my time there, 4 other dogs were in the park.

Dewey Park is where it's at! It's 100% high quality turf, small/big dog separated...water feature, poopy bags included, and some fun activities on both sides. Plenty of water bowls too. For the two legged parents, there are great benches with big umbrellas...almost always 1/2 of them in shade depending on the time of day. I've only met a few fellow owners, but every one I meet is nice! Bring a book, Bring a Sandwich, and BYOD...or else it's weird if you don't bring a dog. I just have to try not to say the word Park around the house.

My dog ended up bleeding and needed an antibiotic injection from the vet. What made the situation worse was that the other owner did nothing to intervene, and we had to physically separate the dogs ourselves. It was frightening and completely avoidable if the posted rules had been followed. I hope the park enforces its guidelines more strictly so everyone's pets can stay safe.

It was such a joy to be able to feel the Christmas spirit in this space. I love the skating ribbon too! There is so much to see and do in this park. I like coming here in the warmer months too just to sit and read a few pages of a book in the summer sun. I appreciate how clean this space is! It makes me want to come back again and again! I highly recommend you take a visit!
