I'd taken them to another jeweler previously and had a bad experience, so I was hesitant about anyone working on the ring. However, I had an excellent experience with them. The sizing beads turned out perfectly, and was exactly what I needed for the ring to fit well. They also tightened all the stones throughout the setting. My one star is for the watch repair. They ruined my watch here! Not once but twice! Long story made short. I paid $15 for a battery replacement and now I must buy a new watch for $45 If you aren't bored already then read on. Honest review...They DO NOT tell you they DO NOT guarantee water resistance until AFTER you pay. The staff are very nice. However, I paid $15 for a battery replacement and they left me with a watch that no longer works. This is a $45 timex ironman. Not hard to replace .... However, the people that worked on my watch didn't do a good job. They were also given a chance to fix the problem and they further damaged the watch. The first mistake was when a younger woman replaced my watch battery and didn't close it properly. when I wore it the following day it was not sealed properly and it took on water inside the case. Fast forward when I was able to bring my watch back to have it corrected.... Another very nice woman came to assist me. However ‍ they made a Second mistake........ They vacuumed out the water and put the case back together. However, they must have removed pieces attached to the buttons as now the light buttons don't work and the backlight doesn't work. If I could do things over I would have NOT brought my watch here. I wish I had time to bring my watch back but I will no longer be in Gainesville. So, I am cutting my losses and buying a new watch. read more

So I had been in the market for a watch, and not one from Walmart that would last me six months before breaking. I went to a number of stores in Gainesville looking for what I felt was the right look, and figured out what it was that I really wanted. A number of stores in the area carry the same watch, but it was Jewelry Works in the mall that made the deal for me. I found the staff there to be knowledgeable and friendly, and I got a good deal on the watch I wanted. They also have a skilled watchmaker on site that was able to make changes to the watch I purchased to expand the band, which was great. In a couple of years when it comes time for me to get this watch serviced (it is a mechanical watch... they need to be serviced from time to time, lubrication and cleaning) I will certainly be looking at Jewelry Works to do the job. read more

Extremely nice, knowledgeable and professional staff. The store is immaculate and pleasant to be in. I needed a screw for the bracelet of my watch. The watch repairman spent time to look for the right screw and carefully and skillfully fixed it. No charge for the part of the labor. You can't ask for more. read more

Came here for a ring setting of a stone. Barbara was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about how to check if a stone is genuine or not and different ideas for stones depending on their hardness. She spent a lot of time explaining jewelry making to me and it was very informative. I ended up not using them to set my ring, but would likely come back to have work done by them. read more

The worst jewelry store ever！I came here to fix my ring. They increased the ring size to set the diamond in wrong way. It supposed to be vertically but they decided to increased the ring size to set as horizontally. I asked they to fixed back to the way it was. They told me they can't. Dave, Nikki, and April were all SO nice and amazing! They sized my engagement ring in less than 24 hours so that I could take it out of town back in June right after getting engaged, and I just got back my GORGEOUS custom wedding band! They sent a mock up via email that looked like an actual photo before I committed/paid for it, and my band looks exactly like that. They were also able to get the exact stones I wanted to go in the band, and the turn around time for a custom wedding band was very reasonable (4 weeks). It's even better than I hoped. They are so wonderful, patient, and kind with all of my crazy questions. I will absolutely be using them to get another wedding band made to go on the other side of my ring! Same thing with watch adjustments. The employees are always super accommodating and friendly and there is a 30 day period to make adjustments. read more

Jewelry Works in the Oaks Mall is the place to go. I have tried other jewelry stores and no one is attentive and helpful as the staff here. Plus, their prices are excellent. They created a gorgeous emerald ring for me that was exactly what I wanted...it was like they read my mind. Beware! Took 3 rings in to get sized. They checked all the rings before I left them in their care -no problem. Then I get a call saying one ring is "chipped" ( a huge aquamarine they complimented me on earlier). When I stopped in today to tell them the ring was NOT chipped when I left it they were rude and not helpful. Would not accept any responsibility. One man quoted me a timeframe of 1 week or less on a simple band fix, I waited a week and a half with no call and they told me it would be another week to finish, which was frustrating. Price seemed fair, not cheap. Quality of the repair was average, they did not do anything extra in terms of goodwill which gives me no reason to want to come back. Within a few days, the repair on my watch fell apart. Would not recommend. read more
