In the Fall of 2025 I was advised a cap should be replaced. The ran my ins. and advised it would be covered completely. It was replaced. however nxt time I went back the girl advised me I had a balance of 99.00 at the time I advised them I didn't have the amount and would have to pay later. I had to go today, feb 10th to ck. my bite for my night guard. when I went to leave I told the girl I wanted to pay on my balance, 50. the girl proceeded to tell me she would have to ck. with her mgr to see if she could accept a partial pymnt. She came back and said no they could not accept a partial pymnt. I should have walked but was made to feel embarrassed and humiliated and paid the balance. I told the girl this was not right ton make patient feel they need to pay in full with they do not have the full amount at that time and any payment would be better than none. I have since made several calls to different numbers in attempt to find out who actually owns the business to let them know of the Officer Mgrs . attitude. I have voiced my displeasure with those at another office. Be sure you know upfront if you will owe them any money and have it to pay. This cap was no small amount.

I think they have sent me to collections three times now for bills I didn't know i had. I settle up when I leave, and then there's more charges. I call to take care of those charges, but it doesn't take care of them. And all of a sudden, without any notice, I'm in collections for some bill I had no idea I owed for a visit I had 1.5 years ago. It's crazy. My wife has a separate account, same problems. My wife had never been in collections before Manatee dental. Ridiculous. I am done.

Except....they wanted to do X-rays of my mouth, and upsell me new dentures. I could tell that all I was to them is a sack of cash! Personally, I don't understand why they would need to do X-rays when the problem is a removable prosthetic device not part of my natural body. Sorry, but I don't willingly sign up to have my body dosed with radiation (unless there's a damn good reason to do so!). When I told them I'm not comfortable doing X-rays, I was told "it's non-negotiable". EFD didn't do any of that. I went in, dropped off the denture, and picked it up the next day. Great customer service. No hassles, no upselling. If and when I need new dentures, they will be my go-to. They did a great job on the repair.

When I made the appointment they told me they were checking my Insurance to verify everything would be good for my intake appointment. After my intake appointment I received a bill for the full price of the intake appointment. My insurance told me they (and most Insurances) don't approve 2D photos unless there is a medical necessity for them and that they billed the intake as a "Doctor Exam" which I had met my amount of Doctor Exams for the year of 2025. When I called them, I was told they only verify the Insurance would be accepted and they don't check to ensure insurance will cover the appointment, which is completely different than what I was told when I scheduled the appointment. So now I am on the hook for $200 and I am not even going to use them because of their shady business practices.
