We were told that they changed ownership in 11/24 & that they were only good for 1 year (false, as when they were purchased the expiration date was marked through - see pics, none were written). She refused to honor the certificates as "they didn't make any money on them." In fact, she hung up on me. Yes, I fully admit I was frustrated, but she wanted NOTHING to do with this and to talking this through. She told me I could call the old owner, lol...not sure why. I asked to speak to the manager/owner & it was her. I have grown up in customer service & am a 2nd generation retail store family and no matter what, you do not hang up on customers or fail to offer any type of compensation. She could have easily made two customers but chose not to. Very disappointing. And by the way, when we purchased the gift certificates I did so because not only was their name 5 Star Nails, but they also had 5 stars! Unfortunately, doesn't look like that has continued. I wish them well, but I really hope they can learn from this interaction/review as how to treat customers & grow their business.
