No place I called could give me a straight answer, but one of them recommended I reach out to Modern Lighting. They actually trialled my question on a lamp they had in house, so that I didn't have to drive to them until there was reasonable certainty they could do what I needed. They quoted me a price, and I went in the next day. Not only did they get the job done, it ended up costing less than their estimate. He ran into some minor issues due to some sloppy, lazy work done by a previous "electrician," but he managed to resolve those issues. A couple hours later, he was done.
