We were at Jia on a Sunday night. We had 7pm reservations and were seated right away. Our waiter was fantastic but I didn't catch his name. We ordered Lychee martinis that were delicious. The only thing that I would question is how much alcohol was in them. Didn't seem like much. We then ordered fried calamari, the atom bomb roll, graffiti roll and beef and broccoli. All was delicious. It was my moms birthday and they provided a great dessert. The prices were a little over the top, that was the only thing keeping this review from 5 stars. read more

The food is pretty good and so our hibachi chef was pretty entertaining. The only problem was he didn't show up until nearly an hour after we were seated. I realize it wasn't his fault but rather the fact that the restaurant was understaffed, especially for a holiday weekend. Considering the prices you pay, this service is unacceptable. On a side note, what is with the prison style stainless steel toilets? Is that some new age style that I am just not aware of? That being said, it's fun having drunken gals having cry sessions in both the male and female bathrooms (one stall each) so no one can get into the bathroom. Yay Biloxi! read more

The food is wonderful! Everything we had was cook to perfection. The service was not good. Every time we needed something I had to find our waiter. Our table was small and they were not attentive to removing plate when we finished so we felt we were on top of each other, stacking dishes and waiting on the waiter. Excellent Pan Asian Ribs for appetizer was awesome. Calamari was average but had an amazing sauce. We both ordered the fried snapper, and it was just how we anticipated. My wife and i dined at JIA - TEPPANYAKI and it was not a good experience. Since the cooking is performed at the table, 8-10 guest are seated around the table and select their food from the menu. In our case two of the quests were vegans, so the chef cooking at our table decided to cook the vegans dinner first and left the rest of us waiting until their dinner was cooked and served. I complained the manager and he told me that it was up to the chef to make the decision. Needless to say the rest of the diners were not happy, In addition, the food was not good, the steak was tough and not cooked as requested.The TEPPANYAKI chefs are typically skilled and put on a show with their cooking skills. Our chef was awful and I actual felt sorry for him. I would never eat there again! read more

Came to beau rivage on the fly. Wanted a classy dressy restaurant since I'd been consuming alcohol, more alcohol, and blah-this-food-is-only-good-because-I'm starving-and-drunk meals at the casino. The ambience is warm and peaceful. Stark contrast to the casino floor for sure. So that's a star. I had a signature drink, coconut silk (I know, know alcohol... But I needed a drink upgrade too!), which was Divine if youre a fan of coconut and vodka. Plus 1 star. I tried the spicy shrimp app, which is similar to bonefish's bang-bang shrimp. It had good flavor, but there was something amiss. My body ached for some green so I had a mixed greens salad with their ginger dressing. It fit my taste and craving but nothing spectacular. Lastly, I had the crunchy roll with crab salad, tempura, and smoked salmon. Yum. Keep in mind, I like sushi but I am not a connoisseur, I appreciate the textures, flavors, and combination of food rolled into one. If it tastes good and feels good it is a winner. I think it had a bit too much rice though. To sum, the food was appetizing but not stellar, and definitely not enough to lure me back for a whole entree, especially given the taste to price ratio. Trust, i dont mind dropping some dough on excellent food. Another star. If I could give a half star I'd add 1/2 for service...on the slow side and a little too nonchalant. "fancier" restaurants should be synonymous with outstanding, on time service, not " just ok", am I right?! Yes. Jia is a superb alternative to what's offered at the BR, so if you're Jonesing for something different and haven't drained your wallet, I'd go for it. Id give it 3 and 1/2 stars if I could; and OK so ya maybe this place is a little over priced for what it is.. but your not paying for just the food. Your paying for a fine dining experience; and if you aren't willing to shell out fine dining prices than this place isn't for you. Food though is good its a traditional hibachi. Best advice I could give you is if you want fine dining on a budget.. and you just have to eat here.. order a hibachi.. order chicken (less expensive ) and pass on the alcohol... that will raise your bill like crazy. but expect to at least spend 30 per person... and Remember your eating in a RESORT.. its just automatically more expensive. read more

Went here while staying at the Beau Rivage with my family. We sat down at a Hibachi table (there's some other name that they call it that I can't remember). Our chef's name was Geoffrey and he was amazing! I give him 5 stars! We started off ordering some of the sushi rolls and they were all amazing!! We got the atom bomb, bubble gum, and the Mississippi roll. All phenomenal. My one complaint, though, is that the hibachi food wasn't as good as the food you can get form a Benihana or Shiro's. The sauces were not good, despite one of them being called the yum yum sauce. The food wasn't bad though, just wasn't great. If I were to go back, I would only order sushi. So yummy. read more

Beautiful environment. Staff very professional, knowledgable about menu. My wife and I were excited to try this restaurant since getting reservations were so difficult to come by. Funny story, my wife and I had the egg drop soup. Didn't expect much, but this rich flavored freshly made soup with fresh ground rice noodles added at the table made it silky and delicious. Best I've had, would go back for a large bowl of this soup! Unfortunately the rest of meal wasn't as good, wife had 3 scallops over a small rice roll and I had orange chicken. Both were barely warm not very appetizing we both left 1/2 of dish. Chicken tasted like it was prepped but never heated with sauce. Walked out with $150 tab including tip. *Warning* Extremely overprice! We had a dinner at Jia because we saw they had good Vietnamese foods on the menu and the place looked very nice. The service was great too but the food tasteed just ok and extremely overprice. Don't waste your money unless you won big from playing and don't know what to do. We was about to order Pho and some Vietnamese foods. But the waitress told us the today speical that including lobsters, oysters, crabs, lobsters sauce, veggies, steam rices and it sounded like it had a lot of foods for $36 for one person and $56 (something) for 2 persons and she said the $36 would be enough for 2 persons if you were not very hungry. It sounded very good so we ordered that. We totally disappointed when the dish came out. It was just a small dish with a very small bow of rice. Me and my husband was like "is that all?". And all of the good things she listed was all in one stir-fried dish which included about half of the lobster tail, 1 medium oyster cut into half, FAKE crab sticks and CANNED veggies (mushroom, baby corn). That's it! I can't believe we paid $36 for a dish that had FAKE crab and canned veggies. The portion was so small, we didn't hungry much but it was not enough for both of us like she said. And we didn't know it was stir-fried and she didn't mention it. The dish tasted ok, not great, the lobster was chewy. We paid $60 including tip for that dish and a drink. We sit next to the sushi bar so I saw their sushi rolls was very small and they charge double for it. I know how to make sushi rolls and I can tell their rolls was nothing speical. You can have a better rolls from somewhere else and it might cheaper. read more

We had a dinner here and was please with our orders, the cooking show is quite an entertainment, and the atmosphere is quite romantic. They also provide a seating for a formal dining and order on the menu, if you don't want to sit on a hibachi. My family of four has been a few times. We have always had a good experience. Jia is a family favorite on the Gulf Coast.

It's just ok. I had the Misoyaki Glazed Butterfish - never had this so i gave it a shot. The fish itself was quite good; however, the high fructose glaze was quite the deal breaker. The presentation was nice, but the plates were somewhat decorated which distracted the execution. Friendly staff certainly helped bump it up a star - amazingly friendly. This review is 2 stars because the waiter was attentive, and our appetizer was amazing, we got the egg rolls. But that was were the stars stop. The food was ehh, Saki's is much better. The fried rice was bland the seasonings on the filet didn't go together, my husband's chicken and beef were both bland and really inedible. What was really upsetting was 3 other couples at our table that were all together split 1 meal among 2 people and the cook portioned everything evenly between everyone even my husband and I even though we were paying for 2 full meals not 1 split. The cook (Nick) might have been new or something, watching the other cooks at tables near by they seemed much butter with their seasoning and cooking. This was WAY over priced for such poor food, and to be part of an MGM casino is just mind boggling. read more

I actually never got to try the food despite very much wanting to eat here. Why? Because once the hostess told us we could wait at the bar for a party of two, she promptly deserted us there. The bartender also knew we were waiting for a table since we were seated at the bar in front of her. After watching three groups (2 of a party of 4, one a party of 2) be seated even though they came in after us & bringing attention to our 30+ minute wait time as well, I left with my companion in disgust. This staff needs either replacement or redemption. There's never an excuse for ignoring paying customers eager to patron your restaurant when competition is fierce. Skip it! read more

Had a late dinner here. Hibachi with scallops. The scallops were very tasty and good sized. The service was great and entertaining. The Husband had steak and it was tasty too. The prices are consistent with any other hibachi place not sure why reviews were complaining about prices. Love this place! Have been several times and have never been disappointed. My favorites are the chargrilled oysters and the beef and broccoli. The oysters are perfect, not over cooked. The food here was great. The seared tuna was phenomenal. The Imperial shrimp was a let down, although it was good, it wasn't worth the price I paid. Drinks were good. Service was below average. There was a clear lack of communication between the two servers asking me for my age on separate occasions. Oh and I can definitely not forget about the fact that my server forgot to get me my soup. I didn't make a big deal about it, but just wanted to inform all of you that if you order a soup (or anything for that matter) here they might not really care about it. There's more to a good restaurant than good food. In Jia's case, great food is hampered by poor service. My wife and I made reservations for 6:45 but weren't seated until 7. Our waiter was largely devoid of any personality and was incredibly slow. We ordered drinks, two appetizers, a sushi roll, and we each ordered a main dish. My glass of wine took 15 minutes to get to my table - that turned out to be the harbinger of things to come. Our appetizers took 30 minutes, the sushi 40 minutes, and the main courses 55 minutes. During this time, our waiter only dropped by twice (the appetizers and main courses were dropped off by someone else). The sushi was delicious. I had the potstickers which were pretty good and extremely well presented. My wife had the shrimp and avocado salad which she said was good, but a little heavy on the onions. Our main courses, Szechuan beef for me and seared scallops for my wife, were both delicious. All this good food was offset by unfortunately s...l...o...w service. read more

Jia is a fantastic restaurant. I started with a sashimi platter and a single order of toro. Fantastic. The waiter claimed it was all pacific grade and I believe it. I then had an order of Singapore Curry noodles and was overwhelmed at the wonderful taste. Usually curry is too bland or too hot but this was perfect. I only had water with lemon tonight but their wine menu looks great as well. All in all, a meal and experience to remember. read more

My husband and another couple ate at jia a few weeks ago, I must say we were impressed. It was our first time there we were greeted by the hostess, she led us to our table in which we walked through a waterfall (later the server was nice to take pics of us there) I must say we really enjoyed it... We started off with a bubblegum roll( I know weird name) but wow is the word for it! We also shared the lettuce wraps which btw is 10xs better than pf changs. Our entree was delicious as well I had the butterfish my husband the osso bucco. The other couple enjoyed their meal as well.. The service was great, she was friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding, we plan on coming back soon maybe to try out their hibachi grill the next time. :) read more

This is what you would expect for casino Asian dining. Food was okay and yes - it's overpriced. The options are limited at Beau Rivage, so this isn't the worse choice. Was seated at the table side grill with others. There must be a manual for the table side cooks. This is the same act I've seen at all of the places with the onion volcano, the spinning egg etc. It was like watching a rerun, when all I wanted was my food. On the positive, I didn't feel like I was in the casino with the Asian decor. read more

We came to enjoy Dian Diaz singing in the Coast Night Club and decided to have dinner at Jia. We were pleasantly surprised, the food was amazing. This is my favorite place to dine on the coast! Jia's ambiance is very trendy and interesting, but the food and the service were where this rest really shines and shows its unbelievable potential. It is expensive, but worth every penny. My favorite is the Jias trio which displays three gorgeous and delicious fish and the mississippi roll (crunchy roll with spicy tuna on top) you may say, I can get that anywhere...but this isn't true. There are so many dishes that are original and the fish is extremely fresh...the best sushi I've had. The server paul was attentive and very charismatic. I highly recommend this restaurant! But if you do go, dont feel obligated to tip the sushi or hibachi chefs, I use to work at an asian restaurant and they tip out a very large amount to them at the end of the evening...just some advice because not many people know! : ) You're missing out if you don't go! read more
