I have been going to lux foot spa (aka yus foot spa) for years now so I know what these massages are like. Today I came to this place after yus spa messed up my reservation.. the massage itself was good but, the whole set up makes this experience not worth the money. At other foot spas that offer similar services, rooms are closed off and there is better ambiance. At Jia foot massage, everyone is in the same room and it's difficult to relax because of how loud everyone is. Phones are going off, heavy things are being dropped, and the staff and customers are very loud. They should invest in a larger space because i will go back to lux foot spa (yus foot spa) since the entire experience is much more private and relaxing. This place is good when you want to just do a walk in and don't care too much to have a relaxing space. Again, the massage itself was thorough, but the noise made it difficult to enjoy. read more

This is for the Niles location, though I can't imagine the Glenview one is much better based on their total lack of customer service. What a ridiculous waste of time. They refused to honor the 90 minute deal that was advertised (with NO expiration date listed) even though I had a copy of the ad with me. I called and made a 10:30 appointment for a 90 minute treatment. The flyer clearly stated "Clients choice of body or foot time". I wanted 60 min body and 30 min feet. We set the appointment. The next morning I had an emergency and realized I might be running a few minutes late. I called before they opened and moved the appointment to 10:45. I arrived at 10:32. No one greeted me as they were all working, which was fine. I sat down in an uncomfortable metal folding chair next to a boom box playing loudly (making it hard to read while I waited) in the hot glaring sun. It wasn't until 11 AM that someone came and waved me back and went to start the treatment without asking what I wanted, so I asked for 60 min body and 30 min feet. She looked very confused and went to get a price menu. I saw the special on it for 90 minutes and pointed to it. Again, she looked confused. She looked at me like I was trying to get away with something and asked another one of the employees who also looked confused. Then another employee, then who I assume to be the owner. I went back to my purse and got out the ad I received, showing the body/feet time option. Again, I said I wanted 60 minutes on the body (table) and the rest of the time on the feet. The owner then took the price menu and pointed to a picture of feet and said the 90 minute was for feet. They were only going to do 90 minutes of foot work which is NOT what I was scheduled for and NOT what I wanted. No one was telling me what was going on and now half the place was involved in a conversation. It was extremely embarrassing and since they weren't willing to honor the ad or my appointment after embarrassing me and making me wait 30 minutes I got up and left. I received a $45 gift card for the 30 minute body and 30 minute foot massage. It was amazing. For the price I'm going back on a regular basis. They have a $29 1 hour massage also that is for foot and neck and back as well. What an incredible deal! The people don't speak too much English, you stay fully clothed and everyone is getting their massage in the same room, but for $29 -who cares!! I left feeling relaxed and she really did work my back and neck muscles. I felt it was the exact same massage I'd get at a fancy spa without all the frills. My sister introduced me to this type of reflexology massage while I visited her in California, and I've been meaning to find a place locally where I could go. I think I found it. This is not your spa-like, aromatherapy place where you have to go into a locker room and undress and put on robes. If you like that kind of experience, this is not for you. But if you want to keep your clothes on and get a great massage and really be in and out in one hour, this is a great place to go. It truly is a great, relaxing massage for your entire body. I got the 30-minute foot and 30-minute relaxing regular massage (one-hour special for only $29!) and I didn't quite know what to expect but I got a whole lot more than I expected. It was truly a total body massage. They start with your face and scalp and neck and upper back and then move onto your feet for a deep message. Then they ask you to flip over on your stomach, and that's when the unexpected happened. They really massage you from top to bottom and more on your head and scalp while you're on your stomach! That was so refreshing and relaxing. What a great massage at a great value. I will definitely be a regular there! Some tips --Wear a shirt with a wide neck because they need to access your upper back under your shirt with sleeves that can easily be rolled up --Wear comfortable pants that you can roll up to your knees --Don't style your hair or expect to go anywhere important immediately afterwards because they will get all up in there --Same with makeup. If you're wearing it, it may get smeared as they start with massaging your face a little, but my masseuse asked me if I wanted to do my face, so I think you can decline that if you don't want your face touched --Be forewarned that they will touch every part of your body! And my masseuse held my hand lot! Some of the techniques probably will get some getting used to if you're not used to it. I saw male masseurs there, although I had a woman. If you have a preference, let them know. Give it a try! For $29, if you don't like it, at least you won't feel like you paid an arm and a leg for it. read more

I would agree with Iman. I am not paying for a spa experience at a spa. I am getting a basic feel good foot and back massage. I get massages at least once a month and when I am in NYC, I get almost daily massages because of the low costs. I have found the two female massage therapists amazing, and the guy maybe a little less amazing but still a great massage for $29. They have my dedicated business and please do not compare them to a spa experience that you would pay much more for. If you want that experience go to the massage place in the same strip mall area. I have had hundreds of massages and believe it or not, this little no-frills place in Plaza del Prado is the best I have ever had!!! I opted for the combo 30 minute foot massage and 30 minute table massage. The foot massage was great, but the neck/shoulder/back table massage was incredible!! She worked out every single knot I had and I felt amazing. She asked me a couple of times if I liked the pressure, which I did. It was very intense, so if you want something gentler, I imagine you have to ask. I am sure she would have complied but I liked that she worked everything out. Great find for $29. They have a birthday special where you can buy a 1/2 off massage. The whole idea is brilliant, to give reasonable priced massages and have a steady stream of customers all day rather than gouging people and making them think twice before booking a massage. My kids also came and got massages here and were treated very professionally. It must be a family business because sometimes you walk in to one employee and suddenly they are on the phone calling in 5 more people who show up in minutes. I visited this place several times. Each time I loved their service. Typically i get $29-Special, then pay a tip, 15 dollars, at least. Today's experience was exceptional. It was done by a Chinese woman, whose name was Co Co. While she was performing a massage, she knew (even without asking) where i am hurting the most (my foot, my neck, my knee) and performed the magic. She also worked so hard as much as i was feeling very sorry that she may hurt her fingers. I was happy but i became more concerned about her health - fingers and hands. It was the best ever, much better than any other more luxurious massage shops, and she was the gem. I gave her a tip, only 20 dollars - that was the only cash i had at that time, and felt guilty. Linda was my 5 STAR MASSEUSE utilizing more acupressure technique vs some of the deep tissue manhandling elsewhere. She understood and adjusted pressure when requested. Her head, neck, face and shoulder massage are light years beyond anything previously experienced. The rest of the body was treated with an expert's touch. Every kink gone and bonus, my forehead was totally smooth when I looked in the mirror this morning. Facility needs a Zen facelift. Could be a moneymaker given its location. Wouldn't take much monetary investment to bring this place up to par with other foot spas nearby. Turning off the overhead fluorescent lights, closing the backroom door, black out the front windows and asking staff to keep the chatter to a minimum would be a good start. If you like acupressure and want to leave feeling like a million bucks, Linda's your 5 STAR gal! $45 for 90 minutes was a bargain. I have been to this location many times. The massages are wonderful. The last two times that I was there there there was very loud talking amongst the employees. Today when I was there an employee was being screamed at across the room for everyone to hear. This one is for the Des Plaines location. We went in for a foot and upper body massage and got those and a full body massage. The upper body and feet massage were great but the full body back massage was unexpected and not advertised in the $29.00 special. No one ever asked if it was something we wanted. I guess we could have said no but since the foot and upper body were great... The pressure was too hard and they never asked if it was ok or not. It was a very strange experience. To put it simply, my experience here was wonderful! I am literally in my car outside writing this because I honestly believe this may be the best massage I have ever received! I am a massage fanatic, but most of the time, I leave a massage feeling good but not fully satisfied... like I need another one to get rid of more kinks. I came here for the first time because my feet were in pain from wearing brand new shoes at work yesterday, not the best idea. I walked in an was welcomed by a friendly woman at the reception and she had me follow James to begin. He was AMAZING! When I get a massage, I have a bad tendency to criticize in my head, but it was like he was reading my mind and covered all his bases. In my 60 minutes, I was in heaven the whole time. I feel amazing. The foot massage was perfect but in addition to that, they work on your arms, shoulders, back... Pretty much everything over your clothes! Four stars for massage, but not for their ability to process credit cards. This was my second time at the Glenview location and both times my cards were declined. I knew there was nothing wrong with my cards, but it was both embarrassing and frustrating because nobody speaks English. Finally they called someone and accepted a check, on which I included a tip. BUT they didn't notice the tip. They wrote on a piece of paper 'Tips?' I showed them I included it on the check. Wife and I got two deep tissue massages. 60 min $50 each. Now the price is great and the masseuses were above average. There were some serious issues that will probably leading us elsewhere in the suburbs. First major issue was with the employee outside of our semi-private rooms that was obviously ill. Constant sneezing, sniffling, and coughing kept making the relaxation into worrying about hygiene of establishment. While my neck was being massaged I kept receiving a few blows to the temple honestly not that big of a deal because I readjusted my self to avoid the extra contact. Wife's masseuse left to get hot towels and left the door OPEN. At the conclusion of my massage the door was left OPEN while I'm supposed to put my clothes back on. Well aware of the plastic divider but closing the door is essential for privacy. Honestly thought the masseuse was still in the cleaning process and did not want to show disrespect by getting up wearing only my boxers. Another issue is with the lack of overall concern for customer relationship. At no point was I asked about problem areas and potential injuries. Also tipping is crucial but at no point were we asked how was everything and why we tipped 10% instead received a mean mug look as we paid. We want to tip and develop a relationship with a masseuse just not at this establishment. 2.5 stars. read more

The massage was wonderful but the ambiance leaves much to be desired. I wouldn't go back again because it was too loud and distracting for me to full relax despite how nice the massage was. All tables are in one room without partitions (similar businesses at least have the door and front desk slightly separated). Every time a customer comes in you: hear bells on the door, feel a whoosh of cold air, hear the the loud conversation asking about walk in vs appt (despite signs saying to be quiet, customers and employees talk at normal volume). Same deal when anyone leaves. This can't be controlled by the employees but had a guy next to me snoring while on his back and then when they had him flip over he couldn't stop sniffling. I suppose if you go on a day that is not busy at all it may not be too bad but I went on a Sunday afternoon. I wouldn't return solely because of the loud environment. read more

However, I called Friday morning to make an appointment for after work. The guy verified the location and time I asked for and when I got there they didn't have my appointment down.
