Exceptional Service at Jiffy Lube! I can't recommend Crystallyn Bell and the team at Jiffy Lube enough! I noticed a funny smell coming from my car and decided to pull in while passing by . From the moment I arrived, I was immediately greeted by Crystallyn who was friendly and professional. She quickly assessed the situation and discovered that my battery was smoking! Not only did she get me in immediately, but they also replaced my battery, which they had to source from another location since it wasn't in stock. Remarkably, all of this was done within just 45 minutes! This is by far the best service I've EVER received, and I can't speak highly enough about this location and specifically Crystallyn outstanding help. Prices hiked significantly as they no longer offer synthetic, which seems like a money grab given the current political crisis around oil. This, on top of the decreased lack of service since the pandemic (no courtesy vacuuming or window washing), is no bueno. Feel for the individuals who have to be the messengers of this news, as it seems they were told about it quickly, with no real explanation, and just advised to push the new menu onto customers. Unfortunately I don't have time for an alternative but will definitely start going somewhere else. I had an excellent experience at Jiffy Lube from the moment I pulled in for my oil change. I was greeted professionally right away, and the staff took the time to explain the different service packages and what each one offered without rushing me at all. Team Lead Isaac and Upper Bay James did an outstanding job and made sure I was completely satisfied with the service. They truly went above and beyond and were extremely friendly throughout the entire visit. Great customer service is hard to find nowadays, and this team definitely delivered. Have always loved Jiffy Lube! They explain everything but aren't pushy on what is recommended to get done, only what is absolutely necessary. Kinda bummed to see that they were bought out because the prices have increased, but I know that's not the fault of the great mechanics who work here. I learned a valuable lesson after my experience here. I went in for a second oil change, and they informed me that the coolant needed to be replaced. They damaged my 2012 VW Passat by not using the correct fluids required for my car (I had shown them the car manual) and by failing to bleed the system. As a result, my car overheated, leading to issues that cost over $1,300 to fix, plus the cost of a rental car. I filed a claim, and the General Manager of the location emailed me asking where my car was for repairs without providing any explanation. He did not respond when I asked him why he was inquiring. The next day, he rushed over to the repair shop as soon as I mentioned its location in a follow-up email. Accompanying him was a staff member; they hurried over to take photos without my consent and used a dipstick to test the coolant. They claimed that since there was oil in the coolant, they would not be responsible for my claim. During my visit, I noticed that a few employees were not in uniform, and one individual was wearing Crocs. While it's understandable that not everyone may be in standard attire, it gave the impression that they could have been casual visitors rather than staff members. Yes, they refunding the almost $300 - but that nothing compared to the time, money, and damage to my car that was running well before I took it there. Even AI understands VW fluids: Jiffy Lube needs to update their outdated information to prevent damaging customers' cars claiming they use that "all the time" and they should stick to oil changes. Using universal coolant in a Volkswagen Passat, especially if it's not compatible with the specific VW coolant type (like G12, G12+, G12++, or G13), can lead to problems. It can cause the coolant to gel, reduce heat transfer, potentially lead to overheating, and even cause sludge formation that clogs the cooling system.  Here's why and what to do: VW Coolant Requirements: Modern Volkswagen vehicles, including the Passat, typically require coolants that meet specific specifications like G12, G13, or G12++. These coolants are often silicate-free and phosphate-free.  Compatibility Issues: Using universal coolants, especially if they contain silicates or phosphates, can lead to chemical reactions with the VW-approved coolants, causing gelling or sludge formation.  Consequences of Mixing: Mixing incompatible coolants can lead to: Gelling: The coolant thickening into a gel-like substance that can clog the cooling system.  Reduced Heat Transfer: The gelling or sludge can impede the coolant's ability to effectively transfer heat away from the engine, potentially leading to overheating.  Corrosion: Incorrect coolant can accelerate corrosion in the cooling system, potentially damaging components like the radiator, water pump, and heater core.  What to Do: Consult the Owner's Manual: Always refer to your Passat's owner's manual or the label on the coolant expansion tank to determine the correct coolant type.  Flush the System: If you've accidentally used the wrong coolant, it's crucial to completely flush the cooling system to remove all traces of the incompatible fluid before refilling with the correct type.  Consider a Professional: If you're unsure about the process or the compatibility of different coolants, it's best to consult a qualified mechanic or VW specialist. read more

I am really glad I came to this Jiffy Lube on Menchaca and Slaughter lane. Upon arrival and me sitting in my car, I asked the first employee that walked out if I could get an inspection. His answer was, "oh, yes sir, just pull up to this spot and she will be with you".
