Went for oil change and Engine was damaged due to leak. Manager - Santos was very responsive to my concerns. He could not help without approval from regional manager. He said "tapes" showed oil change was done properly. I asked to speak to regional manager. Regional manager never returned my calls. $7,000 in damage.. I will never use Jiffly lube again. They couldn't offer any type.of compensation for an oil change they did that caused. Not even the decently to call.me back. AVOID. I was new to the area and having regularly used the Jiffy Lube in Arlington, I thought I would go to the one in Burke for an oil change. It was a big mistake from the start. When I showed up, the manager after introducing herself told me, unprompted, my car takes the full blend (more expensive version), put it on the bill and asked if we could proceed. Hmmm.. I said wait a minute, doesn't it take synthetic (the cheaper version) too? She said, yes in fact it does. Second issue: she correctly recognized that there was a nail in my tire. However, she told me that due to where the nail is located, it can't be taken out and I need to buy two new tires. How much would that be, I asked. $1,300 total. And to pressure me even more, she told me that my cars tires (I have a Mazda SUV) are very rare and hard to find anywhere in the country, but if I agree to do it, she can get them in by the next day in the morning. An automotive miracle! I declined her offer. On my way back to my car, I asked the technician about the tire and he told me something different. He said it was company policy not to patch up that tire, not that it couldn't be fixed. Lo and behold, I went to a tire shop a few miles away and they patched up my tire in 15 minutes for a grand total of.... $35. Was almost scammed by the manager twice in my half hour at Jiffy Lube. There are a bunch of other auto shops in that part of Burke. Highly recommend you go to one that you can trust and won't try to scam you. read more

Took my Toyota Sienna van to Burke Jiffy Lube for an oil change. While I usually have this service done at the Fairfax City location, I thought I'd give the Burke location a try as it happened to be convenient at the time. The technician tries to sell me a transmission service. He tells me the transmission fluid is extremely dirty. He also tells me that a transmission service had been recommended when I had my car last serviced in Fairfax. Two problems: first, no one at the Fairfax location ever recommended having the transmission serviced, and I confirmed this by reviewing my receipt from the last oil change. Second--and more importantly--the transmission on my vehicle is SEALED and there is NO DIPSTICK which would enable anyone to even check the fluid level!! I learned all of this a couple of years ago when my husband looked into changing the transmission fluid himself and found there was no way to do it. After researching the issue, we found out that special equipment is required to service a sealed transmission. Most shops don't even have that kind of equipment, so you can only have that service done at the dealership. In a nutshell, if you don't want to fall victim to dishonest, upselling tactics, steer clear of this location. read more

This has always been my favorite Jiffy Lube. In these economic times, best to maintain your vehicle, or it'll cost more later. Check their website, and you most likely will find a coupon too. This one is tucked back a bit, close to 123 on Burke Center Parkway. If you know where the McDonald's and Taco Bell is, then you're close to here. Always have found this fast and efficient. That alone is a winning combination, and plus who wants to sit 4 hours at the dealer? No thanks. Here I once again got a synthetic oil change, and tire rotation for a reasonable cost, and was out of here in twenty minutes. I barely got to enjoy the free coffee, but as a man in a hurry, this is a major plus. The staff here aren't pushy, they stick to the facts, and take care of your ride. Always have liked this Jiffy Lube, and will see them again in 5,000 miles. If any of your fluids needs topping off, they'll take care of it. Save yourself money and time. read more

I had used this Jiffy Lube quite a while ago and it was ok so I was surprised when Ii read the reviews and saw it had 37 1 star and only 22 5 star ratings. Despite this I thought I'd give them another try. That was a mistake. When I arrived I asked the attendant is they could check the transmission fluid. I told him that because the car was a Saturn Vue it doesn't have a normal trans dipstick, it requires removing a bolt on the transmission and filling it until it runs out. Not a big deal since they were going to be under the car. He assured me that they could. I waited in the lobby while they pulled it in and a few minutes later the manager called me over and said they could not service the car because 'The oil filter cap was leaking a lot of oil' . I told them to just change the filter and tighten it down and She said 'They couldn't do that because it might run out of oil and and it might blow up the engine'. Fair enough I thought but asked if they could check the transmission fluid while it was on the rack. She said that the could not. I asked to see the leaking filter cap and it was completely dry, no oil. The manager was next to me and I showed her that there was no oil leaking from the filter and she pointed to the valve cover and said that's where the oil was leaking. There was some old oil there but not a lot as the car had over 100,000 miles on it. I told her that was normal but there was no leak on the oil filter and the valve cover had nothing to do with it. She said they still could not service it. This either means that they do not know the difference between a valve cover and the oil filter cover, or they just didn't feel like working on it, or didn't have the parts. In any event they lied about the oil leak and their level of mechanical abilities. They also raised fear in the possibility of a major problem for no reason at all. This was even more interesting because I read another review where they told a customer that their cap on the oil filter was cracked and needed to be replaced. The customer declined this and took it home where it was discovered that it was not cracked at all, just loose. I wont be taking cars to this location again and recommend others to stay away. I hate to think what the results would be if my daughter or someone non mechanical went here for service. It wouldn't be pretty. .I'm also sending this to the Jiffy Lub Corporate offices for their attention. read more

The service representative informed me that my front brakes were so bad that the car would never pass state inspection and indicated that they could resolve the problem for me. There is no way possible that statement could be true as I replaced the brakes myself only 2 days ago and there were less than 200 miles on the car since completing the brake install. The service member checking people out seemingly avoids checking out everyone in the "completed" queue. Goes and walks around, checking people out when he feels like it. Summary if you don't want to read it all 1- this Burke jiffy lube is the worst location of them all! 2- if you go to any other location ONLY do the OIL CHANGE and say no to anything else! I've been going to jiffy lube for years now to get oil changes. I go to different locations based on what's convenient for me in the moment. Most of the locations had been convenient but I would never give any of them a high rating because of how they always hold up a random dirty air filter and ask if you would like your air filter replaced. They make it seem like the one they're holding is yours but it not and I know this because I always change my own air filters. (It's very cheap and easy- just YouTube it). Anyway, because of this I really don't trust jiffy lube in general but I go for the oil change I make sure to preface my visit with "I don't want the air filter and please put the reminder sticker in my door jam not my window). This location has been the first where I ever dealt with this unique problem. I went yesterday and they told me they could not perform the oil change because the TOP of my oil filter canister housing was cracked and the oil was leaking, but that they could fix it. Now I had been driving my car past the amount of time that was recommended for my oil change and I never noticed any leaks anywhere and my oil pressure was in a normal range. I immediately asked to see the crack especially since he said it was on top and he said I couldn't see it because it was hidden but that I could see where the oil leaked. This didn't make sense to me because how did he know the top was cracked then? Red flags galore. I told him I needed to have my mechanic look at it. He told me they don't typically do this repair but that they had done one recently and they would do it for me, but they needed to get the part. I asked how much and he spoke with someone else and they said $900. A friend recommended a highly rated mechanic and they said that if it was cracked I would have known and that it was strange they didn't do the oil change since it was obviously not profusely leaking oil. After they saw it in person they told me there was normal wear on the gaskets at the BOTTOM of the canister but it was NOT cracked anywhere. He said it was a very slow leak and it was dripping just right where the gaskets were. They said in time it would need to be replaced, but it was not absolutely necessary right now. He told me what to look out for and did my oil change and it was less than what jiffy lube charges even with the coupon. Everything happens for a reason and now I have my new oil change place and where I'll go for all my car needs in the future. I will never go to another jiffy lube again. read more

What the? What do you mean big vehicle? Well we had to get these folks in and forgot blah blah blah.. I see ppl get in and out who came well after me. Yeah not happy. Then i notice i am the only person of color in there, I ask the manager if its a "Whites only" establishment. He looks at me awkward as I point to the waiting room with everyone who has been taken care of, who also came AFTER me. Giovanni the CSA goes oh bro you picked a Saturday we are really busy. Hold on, because you are busy, you put my vehicle off for other folks? Makes zero sense. As i go wait for my vehicle other people walk up, mostly older White folks. AND IT ALL MAKES SENSE....cashier starts to OVER SELL them EVERYTHING. I.e. cabin filter, brake fluid, wipers, etc. Heck they might as well sell blinker fluid these people, they'd pay. I understood what took place, They prioritize these folks as they rip them off all kinds of ways. Someone like me would never pay for any of this, especially at the prices they charge. I came in for a routine oil change and was quite happy with service received, particularly being that it was the week of Thanksgiving. While this location is new to me, I usually visit Jiffy Lube for the oil change and have had varying degrees of satisfaction. I was quoted about a 45 minute wait to get my car in, which was accurate. I comfortably sat in the waiting room during this time and while my car was being serviced. In addition to high mileage oil, my transmission fluid was also drained and replaced. They put air in my tires at no extra cost as well as rotated my tires (which was deducted since I had the transmission fluid drained. They checked the air filter and said it looked good to go. I also had an issue where my undercarriage was detached and dragging on the ground and they pushed it back up and secured it for no charge. I don't agree with the repeated 1 star reviews and had a positive experience here. I plan on visiting again the next time I need an oil change. read more

I've been coming here for 5+ years, and the service is always great. I've usually experienced quick service whenever I'm in for an oil change. Jiffy lube employees will always check through your car and make suggestions based on your cars needs--sometimes to up-sell, sometimes an "FYI". (don't be afraid to say no, if you don't need it or can't afford at the moment!) The waiting area is clean, and I love how they always have water, coffee, tea, and a charging station that you can use. The TV is always turned onto a neutral channel and there's magazines/newspapers to read. It's Christmas time and they decorated! Lovely. Letter Grade for Jiffy Lube (Burke): B+ read more

This Jiffy Lube rocks! No high pressure up selling so I trust what they are telling me and the most courteous staff ever. Greeted me immediately when I pulled up, explained the current wait time, checked in on me while I was waiting, explained their findings without pressuring services that weren't needed, quick service, and they escorted me to my car and shut the door for me. I have been to a lot of Jiffy Lube's with bad service and this is hands down the BEST. The only negative is that their website says they do VA State emissions inspections and they do not. So, I was looking for two new tires for the back of my Honda Civic and Amazon had a really good price that was much cheaper than anyone around and the same brand that came with my car. They also offered an installation package through Jiffy Lube. I ordered two tires and they were delivered to the local Jiffy Lube in Burke and I went on my appointment date and had them installed. So convenient and everything worked out fine right? Wrong. So, while driving home I noticed that my low-pressure gauge was on. I thought maybe they just forgot to reset the gauge so, when I got home I did it myself. The next time I drove the car, the light gauge came on again and resetting it did not help. I took the car back to Jiffy Lube and they said the back tires were low and they made sure the PSI was correct in all four tires and reset the gauge. They said that I should have no more problems. Within a day the low-pressure gauge came back on. I took the car back to Jiffy Lube, but they were not as helpful this time. The Manager said the tires were low and it was most likely due to the cold weather we were having. I explained that when the light actually came back on we were not having cold weather. I suggested maybe the tires needed to be remounted as it was obvious that something was not correct. The Manager however was not open to offering any more help to resolve the issue. Air was put back into the low back tires, the gauge was reset and within a day it came back on again. I had to contact Amazon and put in a return on the tires. I had to go to another tire store and purchase two new tires with installation and then ship the two Amazon tires back before I could get a credit. It was a mess. This place is not friendly, and this place is not helpful. The Manager made it perfectly clear by telling me that if I'd purchased the tires at Jiffy Lube, they would have assisted me more. If Jiffy Lube would have attempted to troubleshoot the issue and found the Amazon tires were faulty, I would have been more than willing to purchase two tires right there and corrected the issue on the spot. I learned two lessons here. Don't purchase tires from Amazon but more importantly, dont use Jiffy Lube in Burke, VA for car maintenance. read more

Took my car to Jiffy Lube cause it was leaking oil. Asked them to make sure the drain plug in the oil pan was tight enough. They told me it was the valve cover gasket that was leaking. I spent $93 for them to change the valve cover gasket. The next day I noticed my car was still leaking oil so I took it to my Mechanic and he found that the drain plug on the oil pan was missing a gasket and it wasn't on tight enough. I basically wasted $93 at Jiffy Lube cause they didn't bother to check what I asked them to check. I am very dissatisfied with my experience at Jiffy Lube and will never take my car there again. read more

This morning her battery was leaking, she went back looking for help and was dismissed. She was told there's no record on file. Unprofessional and lazy. I question the QUALITY of service and its management and staff. She's been pouring all her money here for these services for OVER TEN YEARS. That's okay, too bad for them. Personally, I stopped going to this specific Jiffy Lube location because of how awful and poor customer service is. Did my own research and found a wonderful shop elsewhere, been going for over ten years. (Obviously, we're loyal customers). I've referred my mother and her friends to where I go. Had tires (purchased from Tire Rack) mounted, balanced and installed for the rate Tire Rack agreed with Jiffy Lube. Service was perfect and professional, start to finish. Daniel used tape on weights and finished by torquing the lug nuts to factory specs (many places just over-tighten them with an impact wrench). Best tire service I've seen in northern Virginia. I've been bringing all my family's car's here for about 3 years now. I made friends with pretty much all of the employees here and they always take care of everything. I've even thrown some pretty crazy repair jobs their way and they were able to handle it. I don't even bother with other mechanics or dealerships anymore because these guys are honest and don't BS me. If you feel like a mechanic is BSing you then you need to spend a little time on YouTube learning about cars and then ask the mechanic if you can watch him do the repair. Jiffy lube here always allows me to see what's going on and that's exactly why I've grown to trust them over the years. The group of guys here are cool. If you catch them at the right time, you'll even hear them singing together as they work like they're in a Disney movie lol. read more

I remember when Jiffy lube was cheap. I swear they used to have an option to just change the oil instead of inspect everything and try to sell you a bunch of crappy engine treatments. I am a car enthusiast and do all my own work UNLESS I am extremely pressed for time, then I go someplace like here. Jesus, could they hire people who know less about cars? I doubt it. There were a few line items on their signature service that did not make sense. I remember they marked they added water my battery. What? Impossible. The VAST majority of automotive batteries are maintenance free guys. Still they swore they added water so I asked them to show me where they added the water. The tech pops my hood and I chuckle (my battery is in my trunk). Anyways it turns out they did not add water. Then they try to sell me on service, engine flush, fuel system treatment. No no no. Jiffy lube is fine as a simple oil change facility but there attempts to tap into the auto repair industry scare me. I could be wrong about this, but I am 99% sure that none of their employees are actually ASE certified. There are plenty of mom and pop shops with ASE certified techs that can change your drive belts and other small items for just as cheap if not cheaper than this place. So now it appears the days of getting a basic oil change are over at this place and your only option is a signature service which starts around $40. read more

I do not recommend this place for any services they offer. I took my car here and "took advantage" of one their add-on services; a transmisison flush. They left my car a total wreck. For months it was leaking transmisison fluid and I had even gone back in for an oil change and told them something was wrong. They said they fixed it. I ended up taking it to my local mechanic, Merv's Auto, who luckily saved my transmision. Jiffy Lube had stripped the housing for the bolts and Merv's had to re-drill those out and put in bigger bolts and then put the transmission through a re-learn. (I apologize if my mechanic terminology isn't quite right, but you get the idea.) We ended up fighting with the manager of this location to get our money back. We recovered $360 of the $390 we spent.
