So I'm on vacation and one of my tires goes flat the day before I make the 600 mile trip home. I was ecstatic to find this nearby Mr. Tire open on a Sunday. I was expecting a wait and wasn't surprised when the clerk said they had a two hour wait. Hey, I was thankful they could get me in same day! I had a few errands, so I left and came back. They got me in after the promised two hour wait. They prepared me for a $60 starting charge. They spent what seemed like a long time diagnosing the issue. They texted me when they were done and told me that they found nothing wrong with the tire. I was flabbergasted that they didn't charge me anything, since there was no repair. I expected to pay something for the diagnosis. They were so nice. I was happy to have confidence that the tire would make the trip home. I wouldn't hesitate to go to Mr. Tire again. read more

Terrible service, when they put on new tires they put in the wrong tire pressure, off by over 5 pounds. Had my tires rotated today, they didn't rotate as noted in the owners manual. Beware of this place, also tried selling us services not needed, and example, had our brakes and rotors replaced 6 months ago, after just 3000 miles stated our rotors needed replaced again, they are fine. read more

We had a flat tire late on a Saturday night and getting close to needing new tires anyway. We brought the car in to Mr Tire first thing 9AM Sunday. They explained multiple options in terms of price and quality and different tire specials they had going on and helped us choose the best option. The tires we needed were in stock and the service to replace them was fast. We've been going to another shop for a long time so will continue with them for routine maintenance but definitely recommend this service center as an additional option. read more

They could not even put on all my valve caps. Guess they thought I had a three Wheeler. Took my truck here a few weeks ago to get tires put on and a front in alignment. notice today that the center cap for my front left wheel is missing and valve cap is missing to. also noticed my front in alignment is off. When I called Jonathan today and told him all the things that were wrong he got very defensive And told me that I should have check my truck before I left the shop. I could not talk to him any longer so I hung up This place has zero customer service. I would never go back there again or recommend anyone else to go there. Sent my son to get some tires for his car before he headed off to college. Had scheduled all services online and knowingly did not request additional services. When he arrived they added over $250 worth of extra charges that we did not request. When my son asked to remove the charges he was asked to sign a waiver on the valve replacement/fee. BEWARE. Came in for a state inspection.I won't address the $79 oil change that I was charged $117 for or the $449 I was charged for two $115 tires, that's rather insignificant compared to the $1000 they wanted to replace two lower control arms that were perfectly fine besides a small crack on the rubber bushing . At best they could have just pointed it out and said keep an eye on this condition but no ,failed the inspection. They say they do a complete inspection but I brought the car in knowing the anti freeze and washer fluid were low and the battery terminals covered in corrosion, no mention or fixing of these conditions. Don't expect any complimentary services here, they want a lot of your money as is evidenced in all the hidden fees that ultimately double your tire purchases. So I drove my car with the failed Mr Tire inspection sticker to a nearby inspection station for a second opinion and it passed no problem. Don't think spending money here on tires and oil changes will have any effect on them not trying to find the slightest mechanical blemish to fail your vehicles inspection. Avoid this trap, I should have yelped this place but it was conveniently right next to the Advanced Auto store where I had purchased new brakes and rotors. Listen to your wife (like I should have) and buy your tires at Costco. read more

Absolutely terrible experience with the entire company as a whole! The General Manager at this location is EXTREMELY unprofessional and you can tell it rubs off on his employees. The store manager Dana & The General Manager are in a relationship & are literally protecting each other to make me look like a liar. He called the POLICE on me after asking for a business card after they refused to refund my $1400 & to report the horrendous customer service I experienced here.  After how this manager handled the situation, I wanted to take my business elsewhere and was REFUSED! Forcefully told to leave by the police and told I'm not banned from all mr.tires all because I put him on video? I started recording for this exact reason and thank god I did. After numerous horrendous experiences with another Mr.Tire location, I thought I'd give this one a try after a friend recommended them to me. Upon ordering the tires, I spoke with the Assistant Store Manager "Dana" who insisted she would "take care of this". For those wondering why I even returned. The specific tires needed were not available anywhere Well guess what, after waiting almost an entire week I arrive to have the tires installed & after waiting 4 HOURS, I'm told Dana ordered the wrong tire sizes even though I SPECIFICALLY told her which tire sizes & that I needed to wait another week for the correct ones. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! To make my stay in the waiting room even worse, during my wait, I'm with my 4 year old son in the bathroom and an employee starts knocking on the door & says  ("HEY WHAT ARE YOU BEATING YOUR MEAT IN THERE?" "YOU TAKIN A SH*T?) I'm fuming at this point and of course when I open the door and step out, ABSOLUTE SILENCE! Nobody says a word as if nothing ever happened. Dana the assistant manager was sitting literally right in front of the bathroom and witnessed the entire thing and denied all claims when confronted by her general manger the next day as if I have something to gain from this. After waiting 4 hours just to be told sorry we got the wrong tires, I'm MENTALLY EXHAUSTED at this point from dealing with this people . I get home and of course my rear tire explodes, the ones that were already supposed to be replaced.  I call later that day to speak with the general manager to report to him what happened and I'm told by Dana he'll be in the next day. I call the next day to speak with him and personally told him everything that has happened at this location INCLUDING the bathroom incident. He never commented on the bathroom incident after I told him, assuming he was going to handle it.  Come to find out, Dana the assistant manager is in a relationship with the General Manager so now I completely understand why my concerns were not addressed or taken seriously. They're DATING so there's absolutely 0 accountability!  Fast forward a week later, I'm told I'd get a call on Friday when the tires came in. Of course, no phone call so I call on Saturday morning and Dana says "Yeap the tires are here", so I arrive and drop off the car. Upon pick up, the general manager who refused to give me his name tried to accuse me of lying about the bathroom incident claiming "my guys are straight shooters"."none of them recall that happening" Out of every terrible interaction I've had with this company, he couldn't even address the smallest issue about his employees being out of line. I even told him, "look I get that they probably thought it was another employee in there but who's gonna admit to that? Why the hell do I have to lie?" I never ONCE seeked compensation for ANY mistakes and all I wanted was a smooth & easy experience and for them to make it right and the general manager couldn't even own up to anything. Talking down on me saying this is what I do and I go everywhere and do this. Maybe If you did your job properly, people wouldn't have to put you in check. I've purchased all my tires through this company and I've had nothing but nightmares with these people. From installing incorrect tire sizes, refusing to honor warranty's on tires and now down to the simplest of things, customer service. The General Manager at this location is absolutely terrible, at least Dana attempts to be profressional. This company will never see money from me again, everything has been documented. The GM apparently BANNED me from every Mr.Tire because he didn't like being on video and threatened to sue me if he saw himself on Video. I waited for the Police arrive so that I could have it documented and the Officer completely understood where I was coming from  after speaking with him and we just on about our day. I was told to contact my credit card company and corporate about a refund, now we're a few days after tire installation and I feel like I was robbed. Having been a regular for many years, I referred my daughter to them to diagnose a problem - that her father had already figured out, but just needed someone to repair it. At my suggestion, she made an appt. and came to this location on time, only to be treated as if she was an idiot and spoken to in a very condescending manner when my daughter asked simple questions about the process and what she was signing. At 22 yrs. of age, she's had no experience with taking cars in for repairs and this was a learning opportunity, but Mr. Tire let me down. She was so frazzled and upset over being minimized that she requested her keys back and canceled her appointment. I have always gotten very good service at a reasonable price at the Fairfax Station location for Mr Tire. The staff is responsive and professional. On my last visit I had a damaged alloy wheel which they could not repair. They gave me advice on where it could be done and carefully marked the exact spot that needed adjustment for the rim specialist. I also booked an appointment the next morning at 8 AM and was told that they had 2 other appointments scheduled at that time. They don't honor their appointments which is totally inexcusable and unacceptable. I am posting this review out of concern for neighbors and general public. The store manager of the Burke Mr. Tire, Jonathan, was bizarrely rude, aggressive and threatening to me. unfortunately, because I was in a bind for time and needed help I had the store patch a tire and replace another one. This was a couple of days ago. This morning when I was getting onto I 66 the tire that was patched went flat. I have called corporate and I don't think anything is going to be done. The reviews about him show this is not a rare occurrence. I ended up going to Mr. tire in Fairfax off of Route 29 This morning and they were WONDERFUL. Why does this place get any kind of flack? Hyundai tried to tell me to replace all my tires.... this place took my car with my flat.. last minute, and they even told me that I didn't need to replace my back 2 tires. I probably could have figured that out, too- but sometimes I like to hide the fact that I know some things to see how honest they are. This girl worked with someone to change out the exhaust manifold and cat. Converter on last car so.. yeah :) Playing dumb helps to have a real insight to how they do business was going to buy a new rim with tire on it, but I honestly didn't want to drive around so much at 6:30am. You know...I like this place for minor repairs (oil change, brakes, tires, ETC) and George was a phenomenal GM. I got to know him very well, while working next door at Advanced Auto Parts for 7 years. The new staff is young and knowledgeable. This particular time, I was unable to run to Advance Auto Parts to purchase my own replacement parts for a rear brake shoe service, which I typically do for any service. After reviewing my receipt I noticed that the price of the part from the AAP website ($34.99) was marked up by 400%. Next time, I will look at my receipt before inserting my card and not be so concerned about getting to events on time. My advice is...if you're going to go to this route, buy your own parts and bring them there and just pay for the labor. Other than this, this is a fine location! read more

After purchasing new tires at another retailer yesterday morning, I decided to call Mr Tire and was able to get an appointment for 10am. When I checked in at the counter, they explained the process to me and immediately took my car back to check the alignment. 15 minutes later, they provided me with a report that indicated my vehicle was currently within the acceptable range for alignment and sent me on my way. I was very pleased with the honesty and professionalism. I expected that the "free alignment check" was a way to get business and not a real offer. read more

In these situations the guest is always right and you should go above and beyond in trying to help accommodate the guest for your errors. My son went to the shop for a re-inspection. He fixed what was initially wrong with the car and why it did not pass inspection the first time. After doing the 2nd inspection the person at Mr Tire told him that the car failed again, and the windshield wipers needed to be replaced, and that it would cost $80. Actually, The windshield wipers are fine and they passed the first inspection. It is very sad and disappointing that Mr Tire tried to take advantage of my son during this crisis. read more

So my old SUV is due for inspection here in Virginia. I know what's wrong with it, and I could do the work if I wanted to, but I'm just not in a mood to do the work, so I take it to my local Mr. Tire shop, the one on Ox Road in Burke. The girl behind the counter has given me an earlier estimate to replace the outboard rear axle seal, which is leaking fluid all over the brakes, which are ruined. She tells me $172.00 labor + parts. Fine. I drop the car off this AM and tell her to rotate the tires, check for leaks, and align the front. Call me when you find out all that is wrong and give me the price. She calls me at 2 PM with a price of $919 and some change! WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!??????????????? I call her back and we start to talk. She tells me that they have to do a "differential service" as part of the package. I ask her what that means. She says that they have to replace the seal and the gear grease in the differential (aka "the punkin" for those of you guys who have worked on cars!) I say "Wait a minute. Gear grease is not that expensive." She says: "We have to service the differential, not just put in gear grease. We are removing the cover and putting a new gasket on it." I'm like: "Hold on a minute. You are taking the rear cover off as part of replacing the seal anyway." Then I describe in detail the work that has to be done. I did this job last year myself, but I am tired and I don't want to mess with it. She is quiet. I think she knows I am on to them. She turns around and asks the mechanic something, then says to me "The mechanic says that you need a differential service" I call bullshit on them (politely, however) and tell her that this is not acceptable since they are removing and replacing the differential cover gasket and the grease as part of the removal of the axle to get to the outboard seal. She tells me that she will only charge me for the grease. Then we move on to the rear brake shoes. $331.50!!!!!! My eyes are spinning. That's an hour and a half job tops. I tell her that I will do it myself. She is good with this and I will get the car back with a "FAIL" inspection sticker and probably do the brakes on all four wheels on Thursday. I learn later that the mechanics at Mr. Tire work ON COMMISSION, so obviously they are going to look for suckers to upsell and lie to in order to pad their commission checks. I wrote a long and angry letter to the home office of Mr. Tire and they didn't even acknowledge it with a "drop dead." I guess they feel that in a world of 7 billion people, there are more than enough suckers out there to keep them in business. BUYER BEWARE!!! Firstly, my family and I used to always take our cars to the Craven at this location. We enjoyed their service and did not feel like they ever ripped us off or tried to suck money out of us like you get from most mechanics. However, Craven has since been bought out and replace by a Mr Tire. I have no complaints about their work, they always changed my oil when I needed it done, my tires once, and the random other needs here and there. Sadly, their attitude problem is significant, and I have chosen to take my business elsewhere. The manager speaks down to you on the phone, and is very patronizing. Now this attitude may have been just to me, which I feel young girls often get from mechanics because we're just "car stupid" or whatever. Guess what, I'm not, so don't sass me. The manager was also harsh and and rude on the phone to my father as well. I also called today to schedule an appointment and the manager was again rude, and completely contradicted and retracted a statement he had made the last time I was in there. Bait and switch pukes, stay away! Spoke to the manager to see if they would swap my truck rims. First, I was told $10 a tire, when I asked about mounting and balancing, I was told $25, then down to $20. When I arrived the manager couldn't understand it's my truck, not my jeep that I'm talking about. Which then devolved to, can he see what needed to be done? I walked him back out to my truck, and then it's the hardcore upsell on my tires. Without batting an eye, and without a tire gauge, he says he WONT swap my rims cuz my tires are bald. Tells me that no one will do the same. I told him he's wrong, and there's plenty of tread. I had wonderful service with Mr. tire. I called early in the day to get a price estimate and they gave me the estimate for a transmission fluid flush, and alignment. After getting my cars information they let me know I probably wouldn't need the transmission flush yet. I arrived and they promptly took my car. They checked the transmission fluid and confirmed it was fine, and didn't need to be changed. I liked that they didn't try to con me and had quick service that went above and beyond. I made an appointment for 2:15pm to have a single tire of mine replaced. My car wasn't brought around to be worked on till 3:30 at which point the employee told me 20-30 min left. I wait 1hr and still nothing. I was able to order food and have it delivered before my car was finished. Over 2hrs (almost 3 total because I'm still waiting) waiting for 1 tire. You were solid for awhile Mr. Tire, but you screwed the pooch on this one. read more

Stay Away!!!! Everyone, Heed the Warning. I needed a tire rotation. That's all I needed. They did NOT do a proper tire rotation! I had only 1 hour Friday afternoon. I called ahead that morning and asked if that can be done if I bring my car at 4:30PM. The emplyee at Mr. Tire said "Yes." I brought the car in, re-emphasizing that I only have 1 hour. About 45-50 min into it, the employee said that I need new tie-rods, tire balancing & alignment. I relpied that I will have to call back to make appointment but for now I need to leave b/c I have to pick up my son. I was in a rush b/c they brought my car after 5-10 min after 1 hr. I came home and saw that, on the driver side, the tires are in the exact same position as before. They only moved the tires on the passenger side. Do not take your car here. If I could give less than 1 star I would. I recently brought my Jeep Wrangler here right after I put aftermarket oversized tires on. I already had aftermarket wheels and a 4" lift. I brought it for a simple balance and alignment with the new tires. The employees at Mr Tire observed the Jeep and ensured me they could complete the work no problem I told them exactly what size wheels and tires would be installed. The next day, I brought the Jeep to them. I drove it about 1/4 mile from my mechanic to Mr. Tire with the new tires mounted. I made 2 left turns to get to the parking lot. No issues. About 3 hours later my truck was ready and I was informed there would be no charge since the wheels were balanced by my mechanic and the alignment wasn't complete. I was told the Jeep was drivable but not easy to make a hard left turn. Okay. I could take it to a more qualified shop for a better alignment. Upon leaving the shop, I was not able to even get my Jeep out of the parking lot! I managed to get it back to the shop after not being able to turn the vehicle left and informed the 2 employees that it was no longer drivable. They informed me that there was nothing they could do, informed me they would tow it somewhere and I had to argue with the unqualified mechanic to put the alignment back to where it was when I originally drove it to them. Another hour later they returned my Jeep to me again and told me it can now turn left and right. Upon getting on the road my traction control was going haywire shutting down the RPMs and engaging ABS breaks. The computer telling me the truck was sliding on ice in June. I managed to make it back to my mechanic who informed me the Mr Tire tech had completely misaligned my steering. The techs at this establishment are completely unqualified and uniformed. They are willing to take on work they are not able to complete and cannot offer much remedy. I will have my Jeep correctly aligned and will be seeking reimbursement from Mr. Tire for the shoddy workmanship. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK read more

Before about a month ago I've had no issues. I have brought all my cars here for a range of things. I recently dropped my 08 RAV 4 for inspection. I was left a message saying my car didn't pass inspection. I called back and was told I needed a right strut and it would be about $500.00. I told them I was going to trade the vehicle in and to hold off on any repairs. I shopped around to see if I could get a cheaper price. I received a call the following day saying my car was ready for pick up. I was confused thinking they just wanted me to pick it up. To my surprise there was an inspection sticker on my car and a bill for almost $600.00. After 45 minutes of a rude exchange, I paid less than half of that. The gentleman said well you needed it done anyways. Questioned me as who would do the repairs and even said Congress/government would come question the discount they gave me. If I could give zero stars I would have. I brought my 2004 Honda to this place early on a Sunday morning to have two front tires mounted. After waiting nearly an hour I was told that I had broken and cross threaded lugs. I was further told they did not have the proper tool to fix it and that the mechanic on duty did not have the skills to fix it. Even worse I was told that I had to leave my car there until the following day. When I protested, I was told that I could pay to have my car towed somewhere else...which was outrageous as my car drove perfectly fine when I came in. Compounding my terrible experience was the condescending attitude of the young "manager" who kept telling me to calm down when I was in fact quite calm. It was only after being very insistent that they somehow were able to mount my old tires back on my car and I was able to leave. When I reached home, my mechanically inclined neighbor examined the wheel and determined that the shop most likely was responsible for the damage to lug bolts on my vehicle. Right now I am having to find another mechanic to just to get my tires off and I might have to replace the old spindle. read more
