They even provide you with a free rental car if the service will take a while. The only issue is that the price for labor is super expensive. A while ago My wife brought her car here for an oil change and when she returned she had come to find out she was being charged over $700 for this simple task that might charge the regular person $50-60. When she asked about the price after she was told that she could not have her car until she paid their exorbitant price. The next day my father in law came in demanding to know why she was charged such a high price (he had been a regular customer for 15 years and knew the previous owner, buddy) he was then met with nothing but arrogance and attitude by the new owner Trey, the previous owners son. Trey proceeded to tell him to shut up when called out on their shady behavior. My wife recently dropped her car off there to have some things checked out (head gasket, coolant leaks, etc) and borrowed a loaner so she could get to work. While on the way to work she was notified that she needed to return the loaner and take her car back because they have flagged our family to not serve or even look at our vehicles due to being unable to accept blame or responsibility for their actions, I urge anyone and everyone to avoid this shop like the plague. It is a shame to see someone who works in the service industry treat loyal customers like he is better than them. These are the people who keep your lights on, if you keep continuing this behavior you will be out of business. read more

We've been coming here since about 2012, when other nearby service stations seemed to be trying to rip us off. Buddy and team have been providing high quality, efficient and rapid car repair ever since. They call to keep you aware of progress or snarls and to let the customer be empowered to make choices. Recently, we brought our 2019 Acura RDX in because the electrical system seemed to have gone haywire. Buddy's team checked and checked, searched for similar problems on the internet, and at the end told us we would be better off taking our car to a an Acura dealer, who might have more experience with the problem and perhaps better diagnostics. Buddy's team felt that if they had gone any further they might have screwed things up. Their advice was spot on and we eventually got the problem solved - the Buddy's tentative diagnostic was correct. Buddy did not charge us a dime, spite dedicating considerable time to this challenge. Kudos to Buddy's for a sincere attempt to solve our problem, for the self-awareness and lack of pridefulness to send us elsewhere, and not trying to make a buck off of us. read more

Brought my car in 2 years ago to get a water pump replaced. They quoted me a price in person when I brought it in. The final bill was $200 more than the initial quote, I asked why that was the case and nobody could explain it to me. I later found out (by looking at the invoice myself) it was because they replaced the thermostat as well but did not ask me first. The thermostat they replaced lasted only 1 year and now the water pump is bad after only 2 years. Disappointing. read more

Buddy's garage is the most honest and competent shop I've experienced as compared to taking my car to the dealership. The work is always done professionally and reasonably; and many additional items (esp. during a routine oil change and tire rotation) are done without a charge. Very frustrated with my experience at this shop. I made an appointment to bring my car in, and then dropped it off the night before, so it would be ready first thing. When I hadn't heard anything by 2 PM, I called to ask the status. I was told no one had looked at my car. By this point, it was clear that the parts could not be ordered so they could be installed that day. When I asked when it would be looked at, was told by a very rude and unpleasant woman that they would tell me after the technician had looked at it. Which is the entire reason why I made an appointment four days earlier, so it could be looked at first thing. I told them that I would pick up my car and not to do any more work, and when I got there, I saw several people just standing around the office. So, my wife, and I wasted hours of our time trying to get our car looked at, and hopefully this keeps you from wasting the same amount of time by avoiding this place. read more

Dropped my car off to fix a noise coming from the wheel and a noise coming from closing the driver door. Technician said they did not hear a noise so they changed the brake pads and rotors assuming that screeching was the noise. That is not the noise I keep hearing. Paid $600 for a new set of brake pads and rotors and left the shop. Not only is the door still creaking but the noise from the wheel is still there and I've heard it every single time i get in the car. Oh and the brakes that I just replaced are screeching. Let me start by saying I'm a mechanic's daughter. I grew up in body shops and know my way around a car, which means I have incredibly high standards for auto shops and can sniff out a dishonest (or poor) mechanic from a mile away. So when I tell you that Buddy, Howard, and the folks at Burke Auto Service Experts are gold, you can rest assured that I mean it. We have used Burke Auto for oil changes for a couple years, and always had a great experience (they're thorough, quick, and synthetic changes are much more affordable than at the dealer). Recently, though, my husband's new truck started making a really strange noise. We took it to Ford (he's still under warranty, so might as well), who said we needed a smattering of repairs, none of which were covered by his warranty. We went to Burke Auto Service Experts for a second opinion, and they found an issue that was super obvious AND covered by his warranty -- we took that back to Ford who said "Oh that? Oops, yeah we forgot to mention that." Shady AF. We just recently used Burke Auto for a pre-purchase inspection on a vehicle we were going to buy, too. These guys have been my mechanics ever since I moved to the area in 2001. At the time they were close to my house, and my housemate recommended them, so I started going there. I moved to Fairfax a couple years ago, and then to Vienna, but I still only take my car here. They have always done good work on my car (a Saab, then a Subaru, now a Nissan), and they have always treated me well, taking the time to explain the repairs and to make sure I knew what the problem was and what they were doing to fix it. Unless I move completely out of the area these guys will be my mechanics, because it is really hard to find a good mechanic that you trust, and that's what I've found. read more

My car had broken down on my way to school and I was close to Burke Auto so I was lucky close enough to pull in. I was greeted by Bud and a really nice lady at the front. They told me my cars upper radiator hose had busted and it needed to be replaced. I was a college student who couldn't really afford to get it fixed and was getting ready for finals and it was just a crazy stressful week and then this happened. I told Bud I wasn't able to get it fixed and will try to have someone pick me up until I could get it fixed but, Bud was great and he had explained to me how I can fix it by myself with a few simple tools, and how to circulate the fluid. His act of kindness just shows how trust worthy and loyal this establishment is! This had happened back in 2007 and it's one of those things I've never forgotten. Thank you Bud! read more

My family has been coming here since roughly 2003. I am surprised I haven't already written them a review!! But hey, I was a kid most of that time! I get my vehicles worked on here and never have worry that my babies aren't in good hands. Any time I am going to go out of town I have the guys here give me the okay that I won't end up stranded and devoured by scarecrows, and to this day.. I haven't been! I made the mistake ONCE by taking my car to jiffy lube since I was living in Alexandria and NEVER will I EVER do that again, they broke my window motor and tried to up-sell me for a bunch of things I didn't need. It is well worth the drive and time to make sure I am not jipped and that my car will not suffer neglectful hands. I will forever take my vehicles to Buddy and his crew. Our family had been coming here for years, but recently it has gone downhill. I recently had my brake pads replaced after I was hearing squeaking. It was still squeaking so I took it back. They then said it must be the other two, so those were replaced as well. The squeaking noises continued, so my mom took the car back for me. The owner, Buddy, yelled at my mom that nothing is wrong with the brakes and to take it back in 3,000 miles. There was of course still squeaking after 3,000 miles. I took it to Nissan, and they said whoever put the pads on put aftermarket pads (I was never informed of this). We had to spend even more money to put the correct pads on. Never going back to this place. read more

I tried to hold off on writing a review because at least if they could correct their mistake, that would redeem them somewhat. But apparently they will not even attempt to correct it. My entire family used to have their cars serviced here for years, not anymore. After, providing an outside expert to determine that my brakes were in fact not fixed correctly (basically they were never bled), Burke Auto Service Experts say that's not good enough and are telling us to take them to court. This will cost me thousands of dollars to just take them to court. They have already cost me just under $15,000 dollars in expenses. Not to mention all the time, emotional, and physical trauma. I now have a form of PTSD and daily back pain. They way I have been treated is horrible and no one should have to deal with what I have gone through. The short story is this. I get my car inspected. I take it home. On the way back I realizes something isn't right with the brakes. It feels like nothing happened during the first ¾ of pressing on the brakes. I take it back to Burke Auto Service Experts and ask them to look at my breaks, They do not look at my brakes instead Buddy says that the brakes should get better by 1,000 - 1,500 miles because they need to calibrate. Sounds weird but what do I know about cars. A little while later, coming to the end of this "calibration" period and things still do not feel right. I turn onto a road. The truck in front of me stops for a light. I press the brakes. Nothing happens. My car continues to move forward unaffected by the brakes and into the back of the pickup truck in front of me. read more

My car completely broke down in the middle of the parking lot of Cava while I was out with my three boys in tow. It was the most stressful situation imaginable. I was able to get someone to jump my car and I took it to the closest auto place, here. I was so surprised at the level of competence and compassion I experienced. Not only did they help me out shortly before closing but they provided me with a loaner car to get my three little guys home safely while waiting for my car to be fixed. I had the worst experience ever at this place. I brought my car for state inspection and emissions. I first asked if they had availability and the lady in the front desk said sure and started to fill out everything. In the end when I went to pay the front ask lady said that everything was good and I had to go to the DMV because they didn't have internet to submit everything. I'm leaving a bad review because she knew that they didn't have internet and did not say anything ahead a time. If they had said that the internet was down, I would definitely come back later. I've been here for oil changes, battery replacements, and an alignment before, but the experience I had here today is what made this place my go-to for any car issues in the future. I went to another place in the same shopping center to get my car's state safety inspection done, and they informed me that I had to pay $1,100 in repairs for my car to pass. $1,100! As a college student, there's just no way I have that kind of money laying around. Given the fact that my car is pretty new, I just couldn't believe that there were that many problems with my car. I decided to go to Burke Auto Service Experts (in hindsight, I should've just went here in the first place) to get a second opinion. First, any time I had been to this shop, the people working at the front desk are just so incredibly friendly and today was no different. I'm sure I looked visibly shaken about the prognosis I received from the other place, and I explained my dilemma to the person working the desk. He took a look at the list of things that needed to be repaired for my car to pass, and he told me that the people working on repairs would take a look at my car and they'd give me an estimate in about an hour/hour and a half. Great! One of the best parts about this place is that it's right next to a Starbucks, so I only ended up waiting at the Starbucks for a little less than an hour before they called me back. When I went back, they informed me that there was only one thing I needed to get repaired/replaced to pass inspection and that the other things were unnecessary and why they were unnecessary. As always, they were completely upfront about the cost and the repair was only going to be around $145. $145 is MUCH more reasonable than the original $1,100 I was quoted. This place really takes the anxiety about getting car repairs away because the employees (and the owner) are just so incredibly personable and friendly. They are also extremely transparent about how much the repairs on your car will cost AND they are extremely quick about it. You give them a reasonable time in which you need your car back, and they'll have it ready by then and often times, they'll have it done earlier. Today's experience is what made me a customer for life, and if you're new to the area and are looking for a place to get anything done on your car, I HIGHLY recommend Burke Auto Service Experts. read more

I knew I was running on borrowed time when my maintenance and battery lights came on. I called my regular shop (Fairfax Auto Repair) but they were booked 2 weeks out. That same day, I got stuck on a Friday evening with a faulty alternator. Most repair shops were closed or closing so I frantically searched for one that was open and could help. I found Burke Auto Service Experts and the highly positive reviews and called. They were closing soon but the girl at the desk recommended a reasonable tow truck (A's Affordable Towing and Roadside Assistance) and offered me a loaner car service so I could get to work the next day while they looked at my car. Jose called me at 9 the next morning to tell me what was going on with my car and got started on the repairs. I was able to pick up my car around 2pm. I received nothing but good service and didn't feel as though I was oversold on anything. I am extremely grateful to Burke Auto Service Experts for taking care of me and my car. I moved to Burke recently and one of the first things I look for when I move to a new area is a reliable mechanic. Being a girl I am always very wary of places that overcharge or suggest unnecessary services. Burke Auto Service Experts was recommended to me by a friend and I couldn't be happier. The employees are extremely friendly and helpful. Most recently I was driving and notices that my steering didn't feel right. I took my car in that afternoon and they said they would take a look at it that day. I was called quickly that afternoon and was told that they test drove it multiple times and it felt fine after equalizing the tire pressure in my back tires. Not only was I happy that the fix was so easy, but they didn't charge me anything for the service. It's also located close enough to my house that I can walk there to pick up my car. I will always bring my car back here now for any work I need done thanks to the great and honest service. read more
