Best place to get repairs in Burke. They are honest here. That alone is refreshing. Bad mechanics have really hurt the industry. Here it is the opposite. They will prove it to you, and to their credit are responsible. Their mechanics are great folks, who can translate, if that makes sense. All of the staff here are friendly. Just want to thank KC Automotive for helping me last week. I had been to another gas station but the air pump malfunctioned. I went to KC Automotive looking for an air pump. I didn't see a public air pump but the mechanic asked me if I needed air in my tires. I said yes and he told me to pull up to the garage bay and he checked all of my tires for me and put air in them. Based on a recent in-depth conversation with shop owner, KC, I'm updating my initial review of KC Automotive. KC personally called to 1) apologize for the unpleasant customer service experience, 2) explain his thoughts on what likely caused the issue, and 3) conveyed to me his plan in hope to mitigate issues like mine from reoccurring. Bottomline, the initial root cause of the issue was narrowed down to a faulty AC recovery/recharge machine, which likely failed to correctly charge my car's system. KC plans to replace the faulty machine. Regarding his technician's customer service misstep, KC gracefully "fell on his sword" vowing to have additional customer service discussions and training with his staff. My take-away from our extensive conversation, KC clearly takes pride in his shop's service and reputation. With this said, I have a renewed outlook and will again consider KC Automotive for any future service needs. read more

HONEST AND TRUSTWORTHY!!! I trust KC Automotive and once again they came through. I moved to the Arlington area and took my car for an oil change and to fix low tire pressure light. They did a "19 point inspection" and told me that I needed rotors, brake, calipers, etc. all to the tune of several thousands of dollars. When I took it to KC and had them look at the areas of concern that were outlined in the other service centers report, KC said there were no areas of concern. They told me percentage of brake pads left, talked to me about my rotors, etc. It would have been easy for KC to have said, "yes, you need the work" since another place said I needed it and they could have made alot of money. But they are HONEST and this proves it. KC is now 30 minutes from where I live but I will drive there from Arlington so I can make sure that needless work doesn't get done on my car. read more

Have always taken my Acura to Acura dealerships when routine maintenance is needed. I dread going there because every single time they try to get me to spend outrageous amounts of money on things that are completely unnecessary. I can't say enough great things about this service garage. I had major issues with my Toyota 4-Runner. I initially tried to have it towed to the dealership, but when the tow truck never showed up, I called their garage and John suggested I call a guy that they use. Before I had a chance to call, I was able to get my truck started and I quickly drove it to them. I had to wait until after the weekend for them to diagnose the issue, but they were quickly on it on Monday morning. It took two days because parts had to be ordered as I wanted OEM parts used. They were able to get my 4-Runner up and running smoothly. I am so grateful to them! They have experienced mechanics and their prices are very competitive, along with being very honest. What a fabulous little hidden auto shop! KC Automotive is nestled right inside of the Citgo near the Burke Village shopping center, and I had a wonderful experience with them getting my state inspection taken care of. After driving around to 2 other places... with an expired inspection sticker... oops... and getting ridiculous time quotes for how long the inspection would take, I finally was led to the Citgo and, thus, KC. I should probably mention that one of the places I went to was the Merchant's right down the street, who quoted me a 2.5 hour wait time. My car is exactly 1 year old and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, so that seemed a bit extreme. So what was the wait that I endured at KC? Why, maybe 15 minutes. Maybe. AND they were super friendly and efficient -- 15 minutes and 16 dollars later, I was back on my way. I probably shouldn't even be writing this review because I don't want anyone else to know about this place so I'll never have to deal with wait times, but, alas, as CM of this great NoVA nation, I feel it is my personal responsibility to share the wealth. You are all welcome. I'll definitely be back to KC for my inspection next year -- but hopefully not before then, because, as mentioned, my car is still but a baby, and having to take her in would probably be a bad sign, hahaha. read more

First of all, our car goes there to get service regularly and we never had this issues before. And I am glad they are busy with their business. Here is the story, I was there three days in line and just try to get state inspection. To be honest, I don't mind to wait for 3-4 hours, but it seems like my car was never be touched after 3-4 hours waiting. In the first day, I arrived around 8:50 am and I dropped off my car and ask them how long will it takes for state inspection? May I pick it up before 12? The lady went to back ask the technician and told me that they cannot. So she told me to come back next day, we should be able to help me without a long wait. Second day, I arrived around the same time, the lady told me I have to wait for couple hours, then until 11ish, we called to check, and they said the car is not even begun yet. So we went back to the shop and pick it up, because we need the car to pick up our kids from school. And the lady told me, come back tomorrow, we will squeeze you in and help you. I took her words, so I went again! Today, is the third day straight, I arrived around 8:45am, they told me that the car won't get ready in couple hours, if you want to wait then you wait; if not, I am sorry. I am extremely disappointed about the way they take care this. I just want to share with you all. read more

I took my truck making use of a free coupon for a free brake inspection, because of the free service I decided to do an oil change, they returned my truck saying the oil change was done and my brakes were fine, here is the issue: there were no traces of the oil been changed, they did not reset the service light, which will bring the oil life to 100 percent. I still had my doubts about the brakes, I use a free brake inspection at Wygull and they not only inspected the brakes but adjusted them, for free!!!! So I had them do another oil change, since I did not trust KC. Bottom line, I would not come back there, I think they cant be trusted. read more

i took my mother-in-law's 2000 Buick LeSabre to Cardinal Shell on Rolling Road for an inspection and oil change ... the inspector noted there were several tail and break lights not working ... when changing to bulbs didn't work, they did further investigation and presented me with an estimate for $790.00 to replace the headlight switch (what that had to do with the tail and brake lights i have no idea) and the tail light assembly ... declining what suspected was ridiculously high estimate, which they couldn't explain, i took the car to KC Automative ... $350.00 later, all the faulty lights had been repaired, the oil was changed and the car was inspected ... thanks to KC for saving me $400.00 ... you will be getting all future automotive repair ... thank you. read more

Nothing but good things to say about KC Automotive. Took my minivan here just before closing on 18 Nov and returned 19 Nov after lunch. I spoke to KC who was incredibly nice and informative and seemed more concerned about my safety and my concerns than making a buck. I had originally taken my vehicle to Cardinal Plaza in Springfield two weeks ago (had to be towed) late at night. Chose Cardinal simply because it was closer to my house. Big mistake. $1,200 for a radiator and hose replacement (radiator was $450). 2 weeks later, my engine was overheating - again. Called KC Automotive based on user reviews and spoke directly with KC. I explained to him my previous incident and asked if the thermostat had been replaced when Cardinal changed the radiator - no. I brought the vehicle in and sure enough, the thermostat was bad from the previous incident which should have automatically been replaced. To make sure I wouldn't break down again, KC and team went the extra mile to clean the engine and check for any coolant leaks (none). KC was great in explaining everything. Reasonable price, great service, and cares about the customer. Will be taking my vehicle to KC's in the future if I ever need any more service repairs done. Totally trust KC. As a side note, similar to Cardinal Plaza, KC Automotive offers a free shuttle service when you drop your car off which was very convenient. Highly recommend KC Automotive. read more

Solid. They don't try to upsell you from your oil change to also replace your carbahalooza or fix your waddamaginga that you didn't even know you had, much less needed to maintain. Not to say they aren't comprehensive; if something other than what you came in for is starting to go they'll tell you, they just won't try to convince you you're putting your life at risk if you let it go 6 months. They'll even let you know how long you can safely let it go or cheaper ways to fix it than the standard protocol. They have late night drop off and you can call them for honest advice. Unlike most of the neighboring gas stations, this place won't take you over the coals with unneeded repairs or high pricing. Not too bad if what you're going for is basic like an oil change don't know why you would be taking your car to any gas station shop for anything more than that but I digress. oil change was pretty fast little more expensive than some of the other mom and pop shops around but ok. They didn't top off all the fluids which is not ok and forgot to attach three of the bolts that attach the skid plate to the vehicle. If your main shop is too busy to take you in for a quick oil change these guys are at least a little better of an option then jiffy lube, front desk guy was not too friendly though I must point that out. read more

I went there for an oil change, brake squeak and alarm problem. They didn't find the break squeak but presumed it's rust. The didn't find a problem with the alarm and when I got the car back the lock didn't work which they didn't own up to. It cost me over $300 for an oil change because of this. Every where else I've gone would have done the break inspection free and certainly wouldn't charge me if when they don't find any problem. read more
