Charlton messaged me back within 15 minutes. I explained that my throttle dashboard light came on, and Charlton said I might need the $70.00 diagnostic test to turn it off and determine the throttle problem. Charlton also asked me about the size of my engine. I scheduled an appointment and canceled it because the throttle light went out. Perhaps it was the below-freezing temperature and my attempt to drive my vehicle without sufficiently warming it up that prompted the throttle light to come on, I will definitely contact C & A when my vehicle does need servicing. I appreciated the messaging that helped me determine what my vehicle needed. What's valuable? The excellent customer service in fielding my throttle concerns is worth noting.

This is my first time using Yelp and was so stressed because my regular mechanic is my friend and he was on vacation when the brakes went out. I felt so much better when I found people who would help me . Special thanks to Charlton at C&A Automotive for making me feel at ease and gave me a great deal . It turned out to be the brake job from hell because of the poor workmanship of the last owner . An hour project turned into a 3 and a half hour nightmare. Charlton worked his ass off and kept a good attitude . We're both talkers and that helped our mental health. Lol I can't recommend to highly. You need a car repair done he's the man to get.

My family (parents and grandparents) have been customers of this garage for decades. Instead of…read moregoing to my normal inspection station, I decided to give this place a try. When I arrived in the morning, a man standing randomly within the garage first ignored me. After a few moments, he walked up to me and said "cards" and extended his hand. No other words were exchanged. After realizing he was asking for my proof of insurance and registration, I gave him the documents. Then he said: where are the keys?" I handed him the keys and he walked off. No sooner did I realize he was gone, I realized my car was also gone. For about 5 minutes I was seriously concerned that some random person may have just stolen my car. Eventually, after returning from what must have been a test drive (didn't realize that was normal practice) the inspection began. Communication was nonexistent until the owner told me that I would need 4 new rotors and brake pads. The grand total was quoted as being $381. I knew for a fact that the rotors were passable, so I asked to take a look. The mechanic that inspected my car showed me the rear brake pads, which I agreed needed changing. He then showed me the rotors and said: "the rotors are definately passable". When I returned to the waiting area, I asked the owner how long it would take if I did get everything replaced and if I would need to have someone pick me up. He responded by telling me he had already ordered the parts and that they would be delivered within the hour. So while the service was timely, I am annoyed that I was given two different stories and pressured into paying for repairs the person conducting my inspection said I didn't need. This may have been a fluke attributable to poor communication, but next year, I wil definately go back to my normal guy.

I was charged $550 for the installation of a $75 part at AutoZone, and they performed additional labor on my car that I informed them to only do if the check engine light remained on - which I am certain it did not, but they performed and charged me for the labor anyways. I asked my primary mechanic to take a look at it after my check engine light came on again just last week for the same issue and he said they did a poor job replacing and installing it and the job shouldn't have costed more than $150. For some reason, I decided to go back a few months after I got maintenance from them to get a quote for a state-mandated inspection at Hampden Automotive, and they ended up quoting me $2,000 and charging me nearly $60 simply for the quote. I was absolutely shocked at the quote and took it to my primary mechanic, who charged me $600 for the exact same repairs that Hampden Automotive told me were needed. Long story short: if you go here, expect to pay 4 times the market rate and to get poor assistance with your repairs.

Ginter's was recommended by the service manager at Warhorse in Camp Hill so I felt they were reputable. I took the body panel to them in late November 2024 and Brian, the owner looked at it and said he can repair it but it would cost $800-900. I also asked if he could reproduce the special decals and he quoted a price of $300-400. These quotes seemed quite high and should have been a red flag to run away as I could have bought all new parts for less. I told Brian I would look for a used replacement panel and also research the special decal reproduction. I purchased a used panel for $250 that only needed minor repair and decals for about $100 and felt Ginter's should be able to finish the work reasonably. In late November I took the replacement part along with the left side panel and front small fairing so all the panels would be painted the same. Brian looked at the panels again and said he would give me an estimate in a few weeks as he was going on vacation. After not hearing from him I called him in about three weeks later. He said he was short staffed and would get back to me in a few weeks. I emphasized the need for an estimate. After no contact for several more weeks, I lost patience and went to the shop in mid April to pick up the parts. When I arrived I noticed Brian had an estimate in the box for over $2600!!! Needless to say I was extremely disappointed and expressed my displeasure to Brian, since it took nearly two months for him to look at the parts despite them being within arms length of his desk. A few days later I went to two reputable local body shops in Harrisburg. Both quotes were less than $900 for the same work that Ginter's was going to charge me $2600. It's obvious Brian tried to take advantage of me since he saw it was vintage Ducati and he saw an opportunity. I should have read the reviews before going there and checked the BBB rating. I later discovered he is not rated and had several customer complaints he failed to address. While my experience was frustrating it only cost time and not money. The next person may not be so fortunate. STAY AWAY FROM GINTER'S!
