The last time I had a brake job done there was an issue with the dust shield scraping. Brought it back in and they remedied the situation. My only complaint is that they took off my out of state front vanity plate to pass inspection. That was not necessary, as I asked a State police man if that was an issue and he said no, because Pa does not have front license plate. So, I just put it back on. They had some staffing issues due to COVID-19, which screwed things up a bit because I had to take off of work twice for an inspection. That ticked me off a bit. The shop owner said he tried calling me, but I had no missed calls, so....? Oh well, they're right around the corner and convenient. Plus, you can go to Gilligan's for beer & food while your car is being worked on.

Now we took it to another garage and it passed with flying colors & none of the things we were told was wrong. Thank goodness my husband trusted his gut and got a second opinion. I'm deeply saddened that this happened to us and that we had this type of experience. Now we have mixed opinions about if we will return or not. But just beware.

We rarely take vacations, and I wanted my husband who loves chocolate to enjoy a visit to Hershey Park and Chocolate World. What started out as a pleasant drive through the Ohio and Pennsylvania, suddenly turned into a stressful and costly experience. We pulled into a travel plaza gas station to fill up and discovered our brake pedal went straight to the floor! Considering the prepaid hotel stays, the park tickets, and my mom's birthday dinner, we had our car towed to our hotel in Hershey, PA. The cost of the tow would hurt us greatly, but we felt it was the best option to be safe at the hotel we had already booked and allowed us time to choose a good repair shop. We didn't get to go to Hershey Park. We didn't get to go to Chocolate World. BUT we made it safely to my mom's birthday dinner because of Ed and his crew at Derry Auto & Tire in Harrisburg, PA! They went above and beyond working overtime to make sure our car was repaired in time for us to get to our hotel in New Jersey and be on time for my mom's birthday dinner with my family. We arrived back home safely with no issues. Thank you, Ed (& crew)! And a big thank you to the mechanic who stayed behind after close to finish the job! We're both in our 60's with limited income and resources. The stressful event during this road trip could've resulted in a far more dire situation for us. Thank you for being so kind and emphatically helping us when we were feeling helpless. While my husband stayed in the shop waiting, I stayed behind with our luggage at the hotel lobby after checkout time and sat nervously for hours waiting to hear our car was ready. I know, without a doubt, we chose the right repair shop. I know, without a doubt, we made the right decision getting our car towed to the hotel in Hershey that led to our car being repaired by Ed and his crew at Derry Auto & Tire in Harrisburg!

Perhaps it was the below-freezing temperature and my attempt to drive my vehicle without sufficiently warming it up that prompted the throttle light to come on, I will definitely contact C & A when my vehicle does need servicing.
