Jan 12 2025 -- It's the little things that count. I was in despair - needed air in my tires due to the cold and was using a paid air pump that was not working. For context. it was my 3rd spot, each one took air out causing me to be in danger of being flat. The neighboring Jiffy Lube was opened (Sunday) and THANKFULLY, their worker Justin was outside and was able to assist. I've read the latest reviews and WOW, I get it. If you're going there - check to see if Justin is working. My 5 star experience is because of him. read more

But I found my own independent mechanic down in Laurel but my check engine light came on and I needed an oil change and I did not know when I'd be able to get back down, so I went to this Jiffy Lube. Staff was not friendly at all except for one person, the person doing the review with me got loud when I didn't understand his question and repeated it in an unprofessional manner that kind of shocked me. Rude. Non-existent customer service. We have arrived just before 8:am and were rudely told that they are not open. I asked if I can wait inside because it was raining but was told that they are not open. I came in few minutes after 8 but was told that they are not ready. I told the man upfront that they are not making a good first impressions and instead of changing my mind he just turned away. This is one of the worst JL I've ever been to. The store front is always dirty, the manager is super rude. Then they always try to sell you on things that you don't need and I tell them not to do something they proceed to do it anyway like air pressure, cleaning my windows etc... Noticed my lights by my license plate were out so we changed them.my car filters were horrible and I honestly had no idea they existed, also they vacuumed my car. I am 9m pregnant and my car's oil light came on, but I wasn't due for an oil change for another 3k miles. Dan, the general manager at this location was very helpful in answering all my questions and checking to see why the light had come on. He was able to top off my oil and tell me to come back for a full platinum signature oil change once I hit those additional 3k miles. I went in for a simple oil change, nothing else was wrong with my vehicle when I pulled up. Before they started they told me I should get a new battery soon, I said okay cool, not today. AS SOON AS THEY WERE DONE, the man working on it came and told me "your car won't start" I said wtf you mean my car won't start? It has never had any issue like that before I came here. They proceeded to say "oh it must be your battery, u can buy one here for $169. I said hell no and they jumped my car and I went on my way. Don't go. Don't use them. Aside from being the first one in when they opened, it took almost an hour and then as I drove away, my car's tire pressure warning came on -- turns out they overfilled three of the tires (should be 35 psi, they had them at 45 psi cold -- would have been even worse once they heated up) and underfilled the 4th Then the oil overfill warning came on. I had to go back and have them drain oil out. Manager didn't seem to give a damn although the young kid who fixed the problems was great and very professional. They've always done a decent job with my car, although they do recommend unnecessary additional maintenance on it every time. But unfortunately nowadays good customer service includes taking basic measures to keep your customers from catching a deadly virus. There were 3 employees in the waiting room at various times--one wore a mask properly, one wore no mask at all, and one wore a mask part of the time and had it pulled down under her nose. When it was time to pay she gestured me up to the counter and I just stared at her until she pulled her mask up. Then, as soon as my card went through and while I was still standing 2 feet away from her, she pulled her mask down again. Apparently employees there can do whatever they want, in spite of current Maryland law. If they care so little about their customers' (and each other's!) health, then I guess they won't care if they don't get my business anymore. read more

However, after their "service," my car would not stay on. I had to have it towed to a mechanic. Never take your car to them. read more

Went here for an oil change on my lunch break due to convenience of the location. When I pulled up at 11:30 AM there were already cars in each bay. 5 minutes later, a technician came up to my window and politely asked what service I would like and informed me that I could turn the car off, leave the keys in, pop the hood and wait in the lounge inside until the service was finished. This struck me as a bit odd since my only previous experiences were with The Lube Center where I stayed in my car during the service, but I rolled with it. This allowed me to eat my fast-food while watching the Steve Wilkos show in air-conditioning: BONUS POINTS #Murica I got called out to give my information when they pulled my car in. I gave my info to a man that was a painfully slow typer, and he asked me how often I change my oil so he would "know what # to put on my sticker." Admittedly, I'm a bit challenged when it comes to automotive knowledge, so I didn't really know what to tell him (I usually rely on the technicians to tell me that stuff...) Anywho. I will say that it took much longer than I had hoped, about 35 minutes total, but everyone was pleasant and polite, and there were a few people ahead of me in line, so I was OK with it. Plus, I got to see the paternity test results on the show: DOUBLE BONUS POINTS. I had brought a $10 coupon with me, which brought the price of my basic oil change down to a manageable $31. At checkout, I had the pleasure of talking with Jenny. I struck up some conversation after complimenting her manicure and ended up getting a recommendation for a nearby nail salon: EXTRA SUPER BONUS POINTS! All in all, a lovely experience, and I will be back, as long as I'm not in a crazy rush -- would give 5 stars if they were a bit faster. read more

It was literally so disorganized, confusing, and rude. The area is small and the lady behind the counter had a could-not-be-bothered attitude. She was on the phone talking about her personal life which left me awkwardly wondering "do I interrupt her? Would that be rude? " and then I settled on "I'll wait, surely she'll get the hint that I need some help since I'm standing at her desk", I guess context clues are a bit much to ask for these days. I ended up interrupting her after a minute or two to ask for help. I went for an oil change. I didn't ask you to do a million point scam check and come back to me with a $700 suggestion on stuff I need to change. Get the hell out of here with that BS. I was working that day so I went to Starbucks across the street and asked for a call when they are done. Literally didn't expect them to actually call considering how great of a service they offered earlier, and I was right. 5 hours later I walk back to the car to check on it and it was done. They also left the car unlocked with the key in the car. WTH? So if you want to steal a car just head to Jiffy Lupe and pick your poison lol read more

I've been to this location in the past. I have always been happy with the service. Today, I pulled up to four bays and parked my car in front of one that had no cars inside. I walked in the office and waited as the clerk dealt with the guy in front of me. When the clerk was done with the customer, he walked out to the service area. He looked at my car and asked whose it was. I told him it was mine. He said, "Wrong bay, you have to move it." I walked out of the office, asked him which bay, he pointed to another bay. I parked in front of that bay and walked back into the office. Now there was another customer in front of me. A bit annoyed at having lost my place in line, I left my five-quart bottle of oil on the counter and sat down to wait. A few seconds later, the clerk looked at me and asked if the oil container was mine, and I said it was. He said I need to leave it in my car. I told him I'll move it once I'm done inside, and that I didn't want to lost my place in line again. He said, "You won't lose your place in line." I said, "I already did, I'll move it once I'm done here." He said, "I'm telling you, you won't lose your place in line." I said, "What, you mean 'again'?" He turned back to the customer in front of him and gave her one of those looks that said "Some people, huh?" I left without another word. Clearly he didn't want my money today. read more

We've used these guys for years, and we know you get what you pay for. There are usually the least expensive of the shops, if you learn to say NO to all the up sells. This last time I pulled up, turned off the car and left the keys in the seat. When the tech got in, he turned on the engine and floored it into the garage and slammed on the breaks. So..... I've gone to these guys before and have been fine. All of their personalities are great and they're super nice.... but I'm worried about their competence. I went in for an oil change and got a bunch of other stuff done (as my car is getting high in mileage so I'm taking care of it) and right after I get a new air filter, oil change, flush and tire rotation my check engine light, trac off and 4wd light came on. They wouldn't even check it and just did the code reader. They then tried to send me to the mechanic next door which I knew was going to be ridiculously expensive. I stopped at another JL yesterday and told them what I had done and what my issue was; the man that came out and helped me spotted the issue in 2 seconds. This GIANT tube was disconnected that made all my lights go off.... how did you all miss that? I won't be returning to this specific JL. Nice guys; but need more training read more

I didn't have any REAL experience with Jiffy Lube to be honest, because I didn't even have a chance to get out of my car. The minute I pulled up in my 2003 Volkswagen Beetle (2.0 L) the mechanic said to me: "Your car takes synthetic oil.That will be $89.99. No, wait, $99.99?" Then looked over toward his manager. When I said to him, since when??!! He then said, "WE just found out." What kind of crap is that? WE just found out, lol. I then said to the mechanic, what if I refuse to get synthetic oil? He then said back: We won't service you. I may be a blonde, but I am not car stupid. Sure, my car takes synthetic oil, buddy, but it also takes 5w30 oil. Next time, I will try to leave my "vag" (female organ) behind that way I can get treated respectfully. I drove next door to Liberty Gas and bought some oil to carry me over to another shop. read more

Been going to this location since I got my first car about 9 years ago and don't have any complaints. The guys there are always friendly, and greet me by name which is always great customer service. There quick and reliable, they always get me in and out and I never have to wait an extended amount of time. The lady at the front desk is super sweet, I usually end up staying a little longer because we get wrapped up in conversations. 5 stars from me all day. I appreciate when the tech lets me know something is coming down the pipeline for repairs so I can plan/budget accordingly. I go in for the usual oil change and get in/out quickly. Leyon and Horace are both efficient and kind professionals. Jiffy lube is about the same price or lower than my dealership but without a 1+ hour wait. I was blown away by the excellent customer service at this place. I'm somewhat "lazy" when it comes to getting my oil changed I feel like it's a never ending cycle with the amount of miles I put on my car each week. The Jiffy Lubes in my hometown are not the greatest so I was hesitant but did not feel like making an appointment somewhere else. I popped over on my lunch break and was greeted by two men with huge smiles. They opened my doors, walked me into the waiting room.. Pointed out just about everything in there.. The bathroom, the drinks, the television area, the coffee... how nice. Every other word out of their mouth was "Thank you ma'me" now being 25 I am not upset by this as some women would be... I've been coming to various Jiffy Lube locations in Howard County and chose to pick the Dobbin Center Way location b/c of the convenience of it being near my employer. Let me just start off saying that I have never had any issues of not having oil in my car, so I believe that the oil changes are legit. However after my recent visit on, 12/6/17 I came to this location for an oil change. The last visit which was 9/2017, I was told that my anti-freeze was bone dry and I needed my radiator flushed. I wasn't expecting to spend an additional $100 plus, but was convinced since I don't know much about cars. (After speaking with people that know about cars I was told that Jiffy Lube could've just added the anti-freeze or just told me to add the anti-freeze myself) I ended up agreeing for this b/c I didn't want any major damages to happen to my car since I don't have money to invest in a brand new car. So, I go to Jiffy Lube and am told that I need flushing on my radiator and my anti-freeze is low. I'm thinking again....???? Something doesn't sound right. I told the tech that I had a procedure done that sounded similar to what he was saying back in September 2017. The tech states that there wasn't nothing in his system. The tech also asked if I'm sure I've been to this location the last time. Now things are starting to sound fishy and piss me off. I told the tech luckily I keep all the paperwork with my car and asked if I can go to the glove department to find the bill. The tech walked with me over and looked it over and then stated that they will top off the anti-freeze. Now I'm not even sure if after spending near $200 that this work was even done. After this I can not trust Jiffy Lube with my car. I live on a fixed income and can't afford to be ripped off or lied to when it comes to my only means of transportation. I will no longer be a customer at Jiffy Lube due this and other issues when it came to the check off sheet. There are things checked off in which I know weren't done. That makes me feel like I'm not getting 100% of my checklist completed. Or the workers are just checking it off without reading what they're doing. It's really a shame that so many places rip women off. Are there any honest places that can just do the work and tell you the truth about your car?? Aside from Jiffy Lube there are other places that do this same thing. If I could change my own oil, I definitely would. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty!!! I can say one positive thing, in which the techs and front desk assistant are professional and respectful. This is just a business in which they're employees are probably taught to do this to people. Good - I have an old car with a lot of miles. I went in for a high mileage oil change and all of the attendants were wonderful, knowledgeable and thorough. Even the lady at the front desk was on her A game... When driving my car today I realized Bessie was purring, which means these folks did a great job! Bad - I called back to tell them how pleased I was and to my surprise I couldn't get through the line. It's easy to complain when someone has done something incorrect I really wanted to tell these folks how good they had done, so I called back. In total I called three times - waited a total of 15 minutes and each time the line disconnected me never having spoken to anyone. This is not a big deal to me overall because I was a walk in - had I needed to speak to someone I probably would have been angry. I wanted to make sure I let these folks know, you did a good job, car is running good. FYI - perhaps they should look at getting new printer, my mileage sticker not legible! read more

Today however I sit and wait for the receptionists to finish her personal conversation on her personal phone before I can check out.
