Went there for an oil change and it only took about 15 minutes. I brought my own oil and filter and was charged around $40. They changed my engine air filter, which I also provided, for free. I've seen a few reviews where people say they went here for an oil change also but they didn't even change their oil, so that's a bit scary. read more

The reason why this place is getting two stars is because they got me in quick and they did change my oil but that was it!! I drive a fleet car and they had a plethora of items that they wanted done on my truck and zero of them, except for the oil change, got taken care of. They didn't even change my air filter because they didn't have it. When I questioned why they didn't do all the other items he replied we can't do that here. This Jiffy Lube is the most COVID-unsafe indoor location I have visited since the pandemic began. I was asked to wait inside with five other customers for twenty minutes for service. One customer was not masked, and one was wearing a mask beneath his nose. The employee assigned to help us came in without a mask. He performed all transactions, including those that required breaking distance, without a mask on. He handed a disposable one to the maskless customer and said, "I think this is stupid - we're all going to get it." I feel much more assured of that now. I drove from Oregon to DC, and not once was there a road sign for an oil change. You think it'd be pretty obvious while travelling long distances people need: food, fuel, and vehicle services. So many places are catered to trucks. Anyhow, I had to google this place and couldn't have been happier. Reasonable prices, honest staff, and it only took about 10 minutes out of my day. Won't ever use again. They left several clips off the panel that protects my oil pan and I found it hanging down when my spouse noticed something hanging from behind. Not to mention when I was there they only pushed the pure synthetic change which irritated me. I went in a spoke to new management and have added a star. He refunded what my dealership charged me to fix my vehicle and was very apologetic. read more

Had my daughter take my car in for oil change on the 10th of October. In under 1000 miles we had no oil in the engine. No signs of leaks and no signs of smoke in the exhaust. Even though the sticker on the windshield say regular oil they tricked her into synthetic oil on 2005 vehicle. Just so they could get $96.44 out of her. When I called to complained they promised me the owner or manager would call me on Monday and that day has come and gone. We took it down the road and had the oil changed again for we felt the people working here had no clue what they were doing or cared. read more

These guys have been nice to me before, but today they obviously screwed me over. When they take out your cabin air filter and place it on the counter and tell you you need a filter change, don't immediately believe them. They did the same thing to me at my last oil change 6 months earlier, and after agreeing to it again this time I read from several valid sources that these only need to be replaced every 30,000 miles. When I asked the guy if it really needed to be replaced, he lied "Yeah they usually recommend every 6 months." Total lie! Unfortunately I realized it too late and had to pay the extra $40 for a cabin filter replacement that was perfectly fine in the first place. I just don't trust them anymore. read more

I came in to the Coralville Jiffylube while passing through town to get an oil change. There was a shorter guy with almost white hair that checked me in and out. He just came off very rude, didn't really answer my questions. I was not happy with the service he provided. Other than that the guys out inthe shop got the oil change done very quickly. Super impressed with this Jiffy Lube! I showed up 15 minutes til close (like a jerk) for an oil change and they were still super accommodating and nice. I spoke with 4 different people and every single one of them was great. Assistant manager was very friendly and clearly knowledgable. I had no idea they did anything more than change your oil; they also vacuumed out my van and topped off all my fluids and checked my lights and everything! I feel much more confident in my vehicle knowing that they've looked over all these things. They were done within 15 minutes even though there were 3 other cars there. Prices are reasonable. Upon arrival, a worker signaled me to move into a lane behind another car. 5 other cars were greeted around me/behind me and were serviced while I waited to speak with someone and get the green light to go inside. After 35 minutes, no one had approached my car. Therefore, I went a mile down the road to get my oil changed. I will not go back. Very disappointed. read more

Took car in for a routine oil change to this jiffy lube. They ended up rotating my tires per their recommendation. Hours later while on my way to Omaha, my brakes go out (no fluid). This after the lube claimed to have topped all fluids. Not sure what they did, but it ended up costing me $900 to get fixed. Needed to get new brake lines and calipers. Found there was a location near by, so I called and they told me they were closing up for the day even though the attendant and the website both say they closed at 5. I had my tires rotated last month at this Jiffy Lube. While driving down the freeway this weekend and hearing a noise with the right rear tire, I stopped and discovered a missing lug nut and the other 4 lug nuts loose. This could only have happened when the Coralville Jiffy Lube rotated the tires. Had I driven further, the tire could have damaged the car or even fallen off, endangering my passengers and myself. The store manager refunded me the cost of the tire rotation and reimbursed me for the cost of a lug nut. He apologized for the issue, however, I will never go to that Jiffy Lube or any other ever again. They overlooked quality and safety for speed and therefore endangered my family. These people destroyed my car. Went in and nothing was wrong and they return the car with smoke coming out of the exhaust and serious damage to the engine. They say it just happens some times. $1200 worth of damage doesn't just happen. Completely absolved themselves of any wrong doing. Will never visit this or any Jiffy Lube ever again. read more

Pretty good service overall. Definitely much quicker than I expected them to be, and friendly enough. Of course, they tried to sell me stuff like everywhere does, but they weren't too pushy about it. What I thought was an effective place to get a quick oil change turned out to be a place that caused more problems that specializes in oil changes of all things mechanically.... Had them rotate tires on a vehicle that needed the tires replaced after they told me the tread was good and they probably didn't even need rotated at all. Then most recently stripped the drain plug and almost cost me $1,000 in repairs as well as a cost of a tow to take it to a shop that could actually fix the problem luckily I took it to a shop with mechanics that were willing to work on the problem instead of causing more issues and got my vehicle fixed but if I had gone back to Jiffy Lube I'm sure I would be out a $1,000.... would not recommend read more

I went to Coralville Jiffy Lube to get my car serviced and to get an oil change because I was lazy and in a rush (my mistake). The next time I drove my car, my car seized up on the highway, so I had the car towed to a shop, and they determined that the transmission was bone dry and had no transmission fluid in it. My receipt from Jiffy Lube (4 days and less than 40 miles earlier) said that they had checked the transmission and the levels were "full." So, basically two things could've happened here: 1. They never checked the levels on my car, and simply wrote "full" in, or 2. They mistakenly drained the transmission fluid instead of the oil. I, however, do not believe that it was a coincidence that my car broke down less than 40 miles after being "serviced" by Jiffy Lube. I called the manager and they assured me that they didn't touch my transmission because it was a manual transmission and they don't look at those, in which case, I would have expected my receipt to read "N/A" instead of "full" in the line for transmission fluid levels. Also, my car has never leaked transmission fluid. I'm very upset and have been without a vehicle for the past two weeks while I try to sort this out and try to get my transmission fixed. Second time I have had an issue here. First time tire not put on safely. Car was shimmying. I drive for work all over the state and two days later took it into the Chevy dealer who told me that the Jiffy Lube had not secured the tired properly. Last week there to just add oil to my car ( a free service for me). Told me it would be an hour wait. Really??? and the kid who told me needed to look like he cared about his job instead of throwing his arm up in the air when I asked about the wait for an hour. I took my van in for an oil change at this Jiffy Lube in Iowa city. They suggested a new cabin air filter and a new engine air filter. I said yes to the cabin filter but no to the engine air filter, as I can do this easily myself. After the oil change, I got home and opened the hood to change the engine air filter, and found that they had twisted the head off of one of the four bolts that hold on the engine air filter cover. I opened the glove compartment, which is where the cabin air filter is replaced through, and found that they had broken one of the tabs that holds the glove compartment in the open position. I will never use this Jiffy Lube again and will also tell everyone I know not to use this Jiffy Lube, as these people obviously do not know what they are doing. read more

I used to use Jiffy Lube regularly for my oil changes. Even though they try to sell you stuff occasionally, if you say no, it is generally respected. But buyer beware! Most recently I went in and they told me that manufacturers guidelines indicated that I needed a "special" type of oil change, and it would be $74.99. When I told the servie rep it has never cost that before, he wouldn't budge. I immediately told them to pull my car out and left. Went over to Mobile Quick service on Hwy 6, got an oil change and fluid checks with honesty, for $39.99. Do not trust Jiffy Lube and will never go back. read more

I have previously had good experiences here, but my most recent visit will be my last. Had the oil changed, using synthetic oil, and was told that the Jiffy Lube brand was exactly the same composition as the Mobil 1, just less expensive since it is "their" brand. Had my car in for an unrelated repair at our usual mechanic two weeks later, and was told my oil was dirty and over a quart low, but no visible leaks in the the engine (my car is only 2 years old). Our mechanic said that is was likely that either the old oil had not been completely drained, and the new was mixed with the dirty. AND not enough was put in. Went back to Jiffy Lube, and asked for the manager, who promptly changed the oil again while I watched, but also informed me that the oil used previously was NOT recommended for my type of engine, and that the employee should not have told me it was the same. However, he also said that "sometimes you just burn oil" to explain the low level. Maybe in an '85 Cavalier, but not in a new car! I won't be risking any return visits. read more
