Took my car in Saturday they tried to sell me on replacing the cabin air filter and the engine air filter but even after I told them I would do it myself they still pushed until I said for the third time I'm taking care of it myself. So I went to change the cabin air filter and discovered that they broke the snaps that hold the door of the air filter so now I can't get into the cabin air filter. When I call them up all I got was well just bring it back in but that's an inconvenience to me at the moment and I told them I just wish they took responsibility for their mistake and he hung up on me. I went to the Jiffy Lube at 1619 Gessner Rd for an oil change and tire rotation. I looked over from the office and saw that my hatch from the center console was open and an employee was going through the console. There was nothing in there worth stealing but is did creep me out. When I got home to put the receipt in the glove box, he went through that also. I will never be going back to that Jiffy Lube again. I recently took my car in for state inspection at store #2131 (inspection Station #2P35585) as it's close to my office and right off the bat they tried to sell me a new engine air filter. I told the technician that I recently replaced it (during previous oil change), and it didn't require replacement, he agreed and went on with the state inspection. He then told/showed me the brake fluid level was low and according to his boss it would require a break flush in order for him to pass this state required inspection. I challenged this assessment and pointed out the level was 1/4" below "MAX" which is normal operating range, not to mention I just had all brake pads and rotors replaced one day prior to this event and brake fluid level was noted as acceptable in their report. I was asked to go back to the waiting area, and he would get everything wrapped up. After about a 10-minute wait I was called to pay my bill. I received a $25.50 charge for FAILED state inspection due to "Master Cylinder - Fluid Level". As I waited for my paid receipt of the invoice the owner/manager was constantly yelling at his employees in an unprofessional manner. A few days later I was able to take my car into a reputable shop near my home in Katy, Tx. I have used this shop in Katy, Tx. for state inspection over the past 5 years. I did not alter the brake fluid level as it was in operational range per OEM prior to my arrival. The car passed inspection, and I was on my way but another $25.50 charge. I am very disappointed in the service rendered at store #2131 and would not recommend them for anything, not even air in a tire. I have owned and operated an automobile since I was 16 years old and have experience 45 state inspections on my vehicles over the years. I have never come across any nonsense that this place is trying to push on people. Feel sorry for the people that just don't know any better and do what these thieves tell them they need to do. I got my oil changed here over the weekend. While I was waiting they informed me that my AC filter and the engine filter need to be changed as well. I knew that this was true because when I took my car to the dealership previously they had told me the same thing but with a completely different estimate. Along with that I had to get some minute thing changed as well which I can't quite recall (as you can see from my reviews that car related stuff is not my forte) but it was all within a reasonable price change. Over here I received excellent customer service and the prices were not outrageous. I am not sure if I liked how dirty the keyboard was that they gave me to type in my information but what else can I expect at a mechanic shop. Really wish I could give them no stars. I came to this location for a state inspection. Simple. The employee doing my inspection, ​however, backed my car up into his boss's parked car. The rear driver's side is now missing paint and the bumper is cracking. Scratches everywhere. They never apologized and just told me I needed to go to a body shop, get an estimate to fix it, and bring it back to them so they could cover the costs. So I went to a body shop, got a quote, and took it back to Jiffy Lube. I gave it to the manager and as he and another employee reviewed it, the employee laughed at my estimate. The manager went to look at my car and said the damage was there before his employee hit my car. I said it wasn't then he said the estimate was too much money and I needed to go get cheaper estimates. Not only did THEY damage my car but they also want ME to run around looking for the best price so they don't have to pay a lot. This location and the people working here are ridiculous. I had a Groupon to this place and called on a Saturday morning asking what the wait was. The very, very rude guy on the other end of the phone told me that if we came right now, we would be next up. We were already on our way. We could not have been more than two minutes away...when we arrived, there was a line of cars six deep. Since we had the time and the coupon, we decided to wait it out. But since it was near lunch, we were also feeling hungry. Since our car was now number seven on the list, we went to ask if we could walk across the street to the Tex-Mex place and get a bite to eat. The same guy on the phone that told us there would be no wait told us that we had to wait to fill out our paper work before we could go anywhere. When we asked to fill it out, he walked away, even as we kept calling for him. Well, we waited for an hour and our car was up. Another worker helped us fill it out, and said it would take about 15 to 20 minutes to finish. We asked if we had time to get a taco across the street, and he said yes. It could not have taken more than two minutes to walk across the street, and by the time we sat down, we watched our car pull out of the shop. From the time we walked out to the time we sat down, it could not have been more than four to five minutes. If you know the neighborhood and know the restaurant across the street, you can vouch for the fact that it would NOT have taken long to get across the street. Our car was done within moments of leaving the shop. We sat in the shop, hungry, for an hour, to fill out paper work that took 10 seconds. They would NOT let us fill it out until the car was up. But they also wouldn't let us leave to get a quick bite. Like I said, we sat there for an hour with absolutely no help. Terrible, terrible service. Quick and easy customer service. Dropped by here Friday around lunchtime and waited 30 minutes for an oil change. I tried calling them beforehand to see how long the wait was but the guy on the phone seemed rushed. Don't be discouraged though because in person, everyone is very kind and hard working! You arrive and park your car in line and go to the waiting room, which is a little on the smaller side that fits maybe 12-15 people. They play the radio and have water for you. As your car's turn comes up, they call you back outside so you can fill in your name and other info on the computer. Then you choose what type of oil, as the representative recommends you which one too. I had an issue paying initially with my ARI card but they took care of everything. Called ARI for me and got it sorted out. I did tire rotation too which only took ten minutes. All in all I'd come by this jiffy lube again. I had an expired Groupon for an oil change. To my surprise, they honored it anyway. So the experience started out great. However, the wait was so long. Maybe an hour. There was only one other car there, so I'm not sure why it took so long. The waiting room was tiny, had a loud air conditioner running, and smelled like smoke. So I waited outside. The guys were nice and went over the diagnosis and all. Oil change was done. I would have given it 4 stars until I had an oil change done after that at the Toyota dealership. They discovered that the part that the filter was supposed to screw into had been damaged, probably because the previous oil change had used an incorrect tool for my Prius. So Toyota had to replace that part. That made me mad. I wouldn't go back. read more

I have taken my truck to this location faithfully every 6 weeks or so to get the oil changed. I had never had a bad experience until today. The oil change went fine. But when they rotated my tires 3 of the lug posts magically became stripped. I had to walk to the Oreilys down the street to purchase 3 new lug nuts as they were ruined. 2 hours later they tell that they got 1 lug nut back on but don't have the tool to fix the other 2 posts and now I'm driving home with my one of my wheels missing 2 lug nuts. I am generally not one to go to yelp and complain about poor service but this is unacceptable. In fact I created this yelp account because I feel so strongly about this. I will be taking business elsewhere from now on. Edit 8-1-17. I just got my truck back from my mechanic and $349.23 later I now have fully functioning lug posts on my truck. Glad we did though because the employees were super nice and got his inspection done in less than 10 minutes. Their lobby could use a bit of remodeling or touch up however. I recently purchased a Groupon for an one "Oil Change Package" that included an oil and filter change, inspection, tire pressure check, and interior floor vacuuming, so as a result I went to this Jiffy Lube location at 1619 Gessner today (Saturday, April 2, 2016). As a pull up to the facility at around 7:45, I notice several cars already in the bays and two people (man (who I now know as Brady after calling to get his name AFTER I left) and woman) working. As I pull in, I chose the bay without a car as no one was doing anything to tell us where to go (a small truck pulled in as I was). 5 minutes later, Brady comes out to essentially bark at me to move my car behind the third vehicle in line (I would be the fourth). I do so and bring my keys with me inside to the waiting area (partially because of habit and partially because of location). Let's keep in mind we are on Gessner, north of Long Point....I'm not leaving my car unlocked with the keys in it for any amount of time. I sit in the waiting room about 10-15 minutes before my car needs to be moved. Brady (with his lack of customer service and communication skills) opens the door, shows the man in the waiting room a filter, grunts, and the man waiting looks at him. Brady doesn't explain anything and is like your filter is dirty (that's somewhat obvious), the customer says "No Thank You, I'll wait" and Brady proceeds to be like its dirty. No explanation or suggestions, the customer says "No Thank You" again and Brady grunts, turns around, walks out without a word. Incredibly rude. We chat for a few minutes and the man is also unimpressed with his customer service skills and explanation of things. Shortly after, Brady comes through the door, looks at me, said "Keys?"....not another word, not a "May I" or a "Please." I get up to hand him my keys, apologize for putting them in my purse as apart of habit, then he grunts "yep", turns around and walks out the door. Completely unprofessional and rude. He then calls me out to talk about the oil change, I show him my Groupon, he asks what I need, I let him to know I wasn't sure which oil but I had been to another location before, and to do whatever was included in my Groupon. After that, not one explanation as to what my SUV would require. What the Groupon did or did not cover in relation to my SUV's needs, etc. About 5 minutes later, he essentially repeats the process of the air filter (see above) but calls me outside the waiting area. Not an explanation but shows me a filter (keep in mind I'm not a mechanic), so I said my Groupon covers a filter change. He says okay. Proceeds. After its all done, I see the lady pull my SUV out of the bay. I get called out to go over everything and he said your service is $97.97. I'm sorry what? I explain you were supposed to only do the services covered by the Groupon that I showed you, so it shouldn't be that. He proceeds to tell me that's what it is, doesn't include an air filter but an oil filter change (he didn't explain this initially before work had started), then that my SUV requires a synthetic blend versus a conventional (again first time I'm hearing about this from my service). I said that's BS because I said explicitly that I wanted only what was included in my Groupon and nothing was explained that anything would be additional, etc. He scans my Groupon, takes $20.99 off, and barks at me to pay the remainder, all while saying "I guess the dealership didn't tell you that you had a transmission leak" in the most demeaning manner. I said "No sir, as I haven't been since October, and there were no issues at that particular time." So he continues on you have a transmission leak....not one suggestion as to a solution or if they even take care of that service. I pay the remaining balance in cash because I'm beyond livid at this point at his lack of customer service skills and basic premise to do his job. Hands me my cash, walks away. Another employee Lawrence, proceeds to talk to me extremely polite and explained how transmission leaks happen sometimes. I said I appreciate it, I have an extended warranty and I'll have the dealership look at it. He was like that's great, that way you don't have additional monies out of your pocket! Such a nice and helpful man, compared to the entire service I received at this location. Needless to say, I won't be coming back to this location as I felt taken advantage of with a lack of explanation but expectation to pay for something I explicitly said I didn't want if it was outside of my Groupon. The customer service (aside from Lawrence) was terrible and I ended up spending almost $100 for an oil change for my SUV, when it runs $40-ish at the Ford dealership. I do NOT recommend this and I will be contacting a GM. Also keep in mind Mister Car Wash (I went after my oil change), several blocks down Gessner offers a synthetic oil change starting at $49 with a free car wash. Much better deal and their customer service is ALWAYS great. read more
