I had brake pads and rotors replaced.Everything was very transparent -- Chris took me back in the shop and showed me the pads and drums during the inspection and he gave me a detailed written report. The pricing was totally reasonable and everything was documented with photos through the whole process. The place is clean and waiting area cozy, but Chris got me an uber home and Mike the shuttle driver (super nice man) picked me up when the car was ready....and they washed my car and even shined up my wheels and tires (and it was really dirty). The best part is that they delivered all this great service and value without telling me every 10 minutes how honest they were and what a great deal they were giving me, and without brow beating me for a review on my way out the door! It's nice to write a review because I am genuinely impressed rather than because I was asked. Folks, today, July 24, 2026, was not a good one for me interfacing with J&T Automotive at 9046 Westview Drive, Houston, Texas 77055. A summary: Called Chris about 2 PM and said my car, a Toyota 4Runner 1999 LTD, was not starting. And asked if I could bring the car in for them to check and repair as needed. Chris said yes, bring it over. I hired a tow truck for $200 and reached J&T about 2.30 pm. Chris now said that he was fully booked and the earliest they could get to my car would be Monday, July 27. In the meantime, I saw Grant, their manager, and his assistant manager, a shorter person whose name I do not remember, in the office. I asked Chris, me being a new customer, if I could say hello to them. Chris said they were both very busy and could not meet me. I said OK. Chris then asked me to go out with him to the car. He told me that there was nothing wrong with the car because his technician had just started it. The car was stationary. Chris turned the key at least twice, and there was only a clicking sound. He saw the battery terminals and asked what was on the terminals. I said this is the Toyota-recommended grease. Chris said we have never used this. I did not say anything. We came back to the office, and Chris gave me a paper marked RO# 66719. He arranged for an Uber to drive me back home. About 4 to 4.30 pm, he called me at home and said that they had checked the car and it would cost $880.40 for the starter and/or alternator and $347 for the new battery and related miscellaneous fittings, making a total of $12270.40. I said that this was a lot of money and I wanted at least till Monday, July 27 to arrange for it. Chris said quite loudly that if I didn't have the money, why did I bring the car over? I said I have the money but needed till Monday to make payment. He said no; his managers were fiery and had told him that they could not wait, and I had to hire a tow truck and take my car out. He said his workshop had about 100 cars waiting. I said again I need till Monday to get the money. He said no; the managers wanted it done now. I now have my car with me, sitting by itself and leaving me to find a solution for my predicament. Folks, this behaviour of J&T today is the pits! read more

I went to this location yesterday. I took my client to get his emission testing. From the moment we parked, to the moment we got out of the car, there was an employee there to help us! A young man tried to help us get the wheelchair out of the car and proceeded to show us where the ramp was to enter the building. As soon as we entered the building, we were met by super attentive workers. What we thought was take quite a long time, as there were a lot of cars being serviced, only took us less than 30 minutes! Quite expensive for battery replacement. They charged for diagnosis which other shops never do. They're the only one shop open on Saturday. It was very cold and my battery was really dead. I had no choice. They did ok job, but they over filled my tires with air. They are 45 psi which should only be around 36. Tire pressure warning light wasn't on when I dropped the car. Not sure why they put so much air in my tires. It's not safe. I saw so many good review that's why I tried them out. I'm not sure if they are any cheaper than Lexus dealership but the dealer wouldn't overfill my tire with air. read more

The upfront greeting by the service representative is great and is made to instill my confidence unfortunately the actual work done by the service technicians does not live up to their claim of excellence. Examples. 1. Earlier this year they showed a lack of understanding of the workings of my 2018 Audi and their technician caused a malfunction of my soft top while changing my battery. I later had to take to the Audi dealership for a repair of their error. The problem was found to be that they failed to attach all the connections. 2. Today they were unable to complete a simple request to put air in the tires of my 2018 Landcruiser as I requested on the work order. When I came to pick up the vehicle I discovered that the work was never done although was told it had been. Everything went well on my two visits. Such nice employees! Their attention to detail is flawless. I noticed a big nail in a one of my tires. J&T took care if quickly. The worst experience I have ever had with an auto mechanic of being charged for services that were not pre approved and and giving a detail as to how much they were going to cost. I suggest that any one using them get all of the suggested repairs in writing before approving any repair and then ask for the removed parts. Cost for my repair (with all the same new parts and 36month/36,000m nationwide guarantee) came in at 52% BELOW what another 4.8-4.9 rated shop bid. I got upfront price from Zach who spent 20 minutes on the phone with me before ever meeting me. All I told him was that the first estimate I'd received from a repair shop was too high. He went from there with the diagnostics that already had been done. Not attempting to beat someone else's price, but just giving me what J&T charge would be. I like that. I'm not interested in who you'll beat out this time to get my business, I want to know what your business values are. Including whether a single woman walking in to get an estimate gets .... um, bamboozled. J&T may be the best shop in the city, and I have a 2005 Mustang so believe me I've been to many. They're patient, they work the problem (my issue was electrical which is the ultimate nightmare), and they're very generous with the complementary time they give you. The dealer couldnt solve my problem, another mechanic on Fountainview couldnt do it, and another in Bellaire got stuck. Only J&T got it done. They even cleaned the inside and outside of the car. Zach, who assisted me through the whole process was incredibly communicative and even texted me on Easter. You cant beat that. Go to J&T. You'll be a customer for life.
