Somewhere between Midland TX and El Paso, the Jeep drivers side front brake caliper failed in a dramatic fashion causing the wheel to lock up intermittently at highway speeds. Once discovered, I pulled into a campground in Las Cruces, NM and began the search for service. After two wasted calls to businesses that were booked for weeks and would not even try to fit me in, I called Brake Masters (#200). Jeremy took my call, immediately setting the tone for a positive experience and had me bring it in. Was also told I needed new breaks all around which was also incorrect. Total would've had to spend over $3000. Luckily I took it to another shop in which they confirmed my breaks only needed lubricant & will be getting all else fixed that was messed up at richards. He came back a few moments later and told me he had something in stock that would meet my needs. He was also quick to give me a price, including installation, when I asked. He asked me to bring the Jeep in when I had a chance and the call ended quickly and courteously...very no-nonsense. Fast forward a couple of days and I made it in to the shop. I'd driven past it 1000 times and never took notice of the unassuming exterior and front work yard full of vehicles. Upon entering the shop, I could tell that Dana had been at that location for years (turns out decades). When we met and discussed the job, he was equally as no-nonsense in-person while also being equal parts amicable and witty. Fast forward again a couple of hours and the job was completed at the agreed upon price. Located in the Western portion/outskirts of the Las Cruces city limits. The staff is courteous, informative, helpful and friendly as the locals typically are. If no one is in the front then give them a ring. The techs/mechs in the garage won't be able to hear you as machinery and diesel motors are loud. Spot does repairs and sells parts. Not all parts are in stock as they are a garage first. Plenty of parking & easy to spot off the I-10. Safe travelings my friends.
