I've been coming to this jiffy lube for over 7 years first for my PT cruiser and now for my G6 I had gone to two different places trying to get the low low price ?! Sure sure. There was no savings, no friendly host and the first place was like a fast-food get them in get their money get them out no time for peasantries . They did however try to tell me I needed to up grade parts because of my high milage and I should go to senthetic high mileage?!?! Second place right when I bought my car off auction.... The auto shop didn't put the oil filter in tight and the plug was gone as well. I was 2 quart's low. Never again This location is awesome EVERY TIME. Mark the Store Mgr is very friendly and keeps you informed at every level. They vacuum, they even washed the outside and inside of my car even the windows.... WHAT?!?! I had my truck serviced here every 5k. So I could have all my service records in e-mails for warranty purposes. I did this every 5k miles at this Jiffy Lube and once in Merced in OCT 2025. Thus at 120 k miles in 5 years equals roughly 23 services, totaling about $3400.00. In DEC 25 I had service done at Oakdale JL. Within 2 days my secondary fan started running, I thought that was odd since the temp was 46 degrees. I monitored my engine temp and it was definitely running very high. I took it to a mechanic, and they called me and asked if I ever checked my radiator fluid level, I told them no it was done a Oakdale JL. They said it was over a gallon low. They filled it and pressure tested it and it was good. Thus, the only conclusion is that they do not inspect radiator fluid as advertised and noted on every single service. One might think that much loss means the have not checked the fluid level for a very long time or never. This violates their promise to me the customer as advertised that radiator fluid is inspected and documented. This is false and what else have they not checked as noted? WORST place ever. Had them do an oil change and fuel filter change. They took out all of the bolts that hold my wheel liner in and never put them back. Soon as I know it I'm driving down the highway and my wheel liner falls out. This was around 30minutes before closing time which makes me think they did a shi* job because they wanted to go home. Not only did that happen but they left TONS of oily finger prints all over my hood and fender. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR/TRUCK HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT IT. -10/10 read more

They scratched the touchscreen on my brand new Cadillac trying to figure out how to reset the oil gauge, denied it to management by the next day. The claim was ignored/abandoned by upper management after I questioned what they call "evidence" which is a camera showing the employee entering and exiting the car, but no footage inside the car. on Friday 10/18/24 me and my friend were driving the new chicken ranch casino around 2:45 pm and my tempter gage on my car started rising up to hot,i had never seen that before on my car so i knew something was wrong.so we drove into jiffy lube on 6th ave in oakland and we were greeting by Dek.i told him i know this is a oil change place but can you check my coolent my car is getting hot. I called ahead to make sure they could change the fuel filter on my vehicle was told yes bring it on in so we drive from jamestown to sit and wait for 2 hrs for them to come and tell me that the SAE certified professionals can't remove the existing filter. 2hrs working from a pit standing up unable to remove a fuel filter. Am i wrong or isn't this kinda all they do, replace fluids and filters. Anyhow, i drive it home put it up on a ramp climbed under and with no SAE training managed to remove and replace it in under and hr. Lying on my back. This just goes to show the quality of the workforce available. Pathetic. Do it yourself they prolly won't be able. read more

*** Caveat Emptor *** The problem I had at Oakdale Jiffy Lube was Jan 2020, when I brought my relatively new car in to have the oil & filters changed. I had taken it to Jiffy Lube in Modesto before & received excellent service - so I felt comfortable having it serviced at these stations. However, this business was really rough with my car. In particular, this short, heavy ponytail man drove it off of the rack really abrupt & carelessly. So much so, it was a loud crashing sound that caught everyone's attention in lobby. It sounded as if he damaged my car (which he did.) I asked him if my car was OK after that & he kinda laughed and said ya and it was done. It just seemed funny to him & he didn't care. Basically, my car never drove quite the same after that - always felt like there was something wrong with my front R-tire, going flat. I'd had a flat tire before, so I kept thinking it was an issue with the tire getting low. My tire was never flat but it turns out the rim was bent, causing the difference in the feel of driving. Unfortunately, I didn't know what to look for and didn't catch this right away. I took it to Les Schwab to have them look and they said looks as if someone had driven it over a curb, bending the rim. (....Curb-hopping would be like 4-wheeling in my car. It's too low & just not going to happen.....) Also, the only reason I went here is because they advertised a $20 off coupon for an oil change. The man said my car didn't qualify because of the type of oil & he wouldn't honor it. I had my oil changed and my air filter for $87 total. (They tried to include a lot of other 'necessary' services, but I was very specific only an oil & filter change. Oh, he did give me a 5$ discount in the end.) However, that doesn't cover the extra $60 I am spending for a new rim because of this place. Obviously, I won't ever take my car back to Oakdale Jiffy Lube. I don't know much about cars - which is why I take it in to what I thought was a reputable place. They take advantage of people & they do not care. They know you will not notice what they did to your car until you are gone & there is nothing you can do at that point. And that really sucks. I understand there are some good reviews but this was my experience here. I definitely would not recommend. read more

I had my transmission flushed and serviced here today. I shopped around for prices yesterday and although I did find a place or two that was less expensive, I chose Jiffy Lube because they were the least expensive in Oakdale. The difference was only about $10-$15 and that's easily worth it for the time I saved myself by staying local. When I called yesterday I spoke to David. He told me he could have me in and out in 20 minutes. When I went in today it was David I dealt with. Again I was told 20 minutes. The timing was very important as I was headed to work after and did not want to be late. I stressed that to him. He assured me there would be no problem. Unfortunately, they did not make it in the time promised and I was late to work. David and the rest of the staff were super welcoming and professional. He provided me with regular updates as my service was being completed. He explained what was going on and why things were taking longer than he anticipated to the best of his knowledge and ability. Although I do appreciate that, It still didn't get me to work on time. That said, they did still get the job done and I appreciate that. My total was just under $145.00. If I had been out of there on time my rating would be higher. Sadly they missed that mark by more than 30 minutes. Also, the way the greet and thank their customers drives me nuts. I'm sure it's some sort of corporate policy or something but it's so robotic. I mean is it really necessary that they yell "customer leaving" as I walk out and then all the other employees yell "Thanks Doug" as if we are playing some auto shop version of Marco Polo? I understand what they are trying to do there. I just think the spirit of it all is lost in it through the robotic way they do it and that personal element is taken away. read more

My son came here to get an oil change. He's 17 & because he's young, I absolutely believe they tried taking advantage of him or the employees are complete idiots. His truck is 2 wheel drive. They told him that his rear and front differential fluid was low.. they told him the price to fill it.. again, he has a 2 wheel drive truck & they don't have front differential. Needless to say, I will never feel comfortable having them touch any of my vehicles ever again read more

I've had my oil changed here twice with my old car. The employees are generally friendly and pretty fast at getting you in and out without an appointment but...my only complaint is that they seem to try very hard to sell you something at the end. If I wanted a full $200 engine overhaul...I would have asked for it you know? If I say I'd like an oil change...leave it at that please. I'd probably go back if I had a coupon, or they were having some specials otherwise, probably not. You can definitely get an oil change done cheaper elsewhere. read more

Went into this branch which I've done many times before without incident. This last time 3 days ago got my wife's oil charged as the check engine light was on after 5K miles. They charged the oil and rotated and checked the air level in the tires. About 2 hours after completion my tire warning light turned on. I couldn't go back that day as I had prior obligations. Went back a couple of days later as the light stayed on. When I arrived a member approached my vehicle. I explained to him what had happened. He explained after I asked, "what was the warning light pertained to"? He said they may have had to put a little more air in the tire. At that moment another member approached and was told what the issue was. He commented "rudely" that I will have to wait and that "they would get to it when they get to it"! Due to other customers waiting. My first issue is that if it's just air then fine take 30 seconds to put some air in whatever tire he thought they needed to put more air in, secondly, there was no reason to be rude and walk off. Yeah, you got my money already so I know I'm not important any longer. From what it looked like was going to be at least 90 minutes if I had to guess I told the guy I would go take care of it myself but wasn't happy and that I would make a review. At that time I was just fibbing. When I went to my friend's gas station to hand him help out I witnessed that the driver's side rear tire only has 29 lbs of air in the tire while the rest had 42 lbs. He filled the tire to the right pressure and told me to check it in a few hours it might have a leak. Well, the light went off and that tire is holding air. So at this point, the attendant at the jiffy lube failed to put the right amount of air in the tire after rotation. They had a chance to fix this and not get this bad review but took the money over a long time for customers satisfaction. I will not go back to that store. They are not only losing my business but that of my sons, daughters, and my truck. They lost 4 vehicles in this one mistake. Along with that I always went on there and bought every worker a red bull or something to drink to show my appreciation. They get it. Remember what full service was in 1968? These guys do everything but fill'r up. They are thorough, efficient and clean. They wipe everything down so there are no finger prints anywhere or latent oil dribbles on your garage floor. Yes they try to sell up but you need to manage your own maintenance program. They do have all the current manufacturer recommendations and they review them thoroughly. When you leave you get a complete go over. The free car wash is a plus that I did not get this time but I hope they still are doing. Get a coupon. I've never been without a coupon. read more

Been going to jiffy lube for 10 + years and use to love this little location. I loved when Steve and Ashley ran the shop as well as David. So nicely kepy and they were so polite and well mannered. However in the last 2 or 3 years this jiffy lube has gone downhill. Ryan the current manager seems as if he hates his job. The employees are rude. And the service sucks. I accidently over filled my car with oil, a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Manual Trans. 5sp. So While waiting for a tow truck I called to see how busy they were. I spoke to the manager "Dave", after explaining & saying it was enveloped in a smoke cloud from my tail pipe and I heard my lifters "literally floating", & immediately shut it off. (I was always told by mechanics Never to run a car overfilled with oil, you risk ruining the seals & severly damaging the engine)(I learned to do my own tune-ups & work on my cars when I was a younger woman, but I am disabled now.) Dave insisted "What I was saying was not right, he was a mechanic & had told dozens of customers before to drive their cars to his shop with overfilled oil, some from far outside of Oakdale to his shop & their cars were fine no reason for me to spend my money on a tow, my car would be FINE!" (I did not take his advice) ...WHY would he say this and have me put my car at risk? Has he really put his customers cars at risk advising them to do this? ... WHO WILL PAY THE DAMAGE IF ONE TAKES HIS ADVICE? NOT DAVE!..if he is a mechanic he would never tell someone this if he is Honest! I had to use Jiffy Lube, so.. I arrived with my towed car, and again he stated "I should have taken his advice and driven my car, I had waisted my money on a tow, That driving my car 8 blocks with a quart over filled would not damage my car! { At this time( 2 ) of the mechanics were standing just 5 feet behind us in the bay, shaking their heads, I was looked them in the eye with a raised eyebrow noting their responce.} A mechanic got into my car to and was putting my car in neutral, releasing the brake, I assumed he was going to push it the few feet into the bay without starting it. Dave stopped the mechanic telling him to drive it around to the back & bring it into the bay.(Which required starting & running the engine risking damage! ) (The Mechanic had a supprised look on his face but said nothing). I asked Dave why he was having him drive my car? He stated " We have to make sure the car runs before we service it" Wait.... couldnt he have turned the key and quickly shut it off after engine started, Or backed it up the few feet into the bay? Instead of driving around the entire property to the back entrance and into the bay? Risking damage to my engine? Inside at the service desk filling out my invoice,he asked what type of oil I used/ wanted, I use 10/30 winter,10/40 summer. He told me they didnt carry 10/30 in their "tier 1" brands and I would have to pay $10 more for tier #2 brand oil. I was shocked that they didn't carry the standard weight that a majority of cars use in their first tier pricing!(less expensive$29,00)Now I had to pay $39+ ! Iwas very unhappy about this, because he had an excuse or countered every thing I said as if I was totally ignorant, talking over me & I not allowingnme to completely finish sentences, he had been correcting me since my first phone call, I was using the wrong choice of oil weight for the seasons, no damage could be done with over filling,using a tow truck , etc. I was so angry I raised my voice with him. I didnt trust him but I had no option, I was stuck. After my car was finished, at the register Dave was scrolling down the computer screen telling me what they had done to charge me and I saw boxes checked for...vacuumed car... washed windows... Used protective mat ? and I was surprised, never having been to Jiffy Lube before, I asked Dave, "you vaccumed my car? " "Yes he said, Dont worry, it is nice and clean and your windows are too, I did it myself" I said to Dave "Well you only had the front to clean, my back floor & seat are packed in Christmas presents", Told him "Thank you. I walked outside, he followed and he again told me that "Next Time I should trust him, because my car was driven into the bay and now it is running fine, that I should have driven it to Jiffy Lube, it would have saved me money. Disgusted, I walked away from him & over to the 2 mechanics a few feet away in the bay, & asked them," if you drive your car overfilled you risk blowing your seals & damaging your engine, am I right?" Both answered me yes, I told them..." If you have lunch together you should advise him that he is misleading his customers and putting them at risk!" I got in my car left. When I got home I got out of my car and saw that my floors had never been vacuumed, I took pictures! The front window had only been wiped. I called the Turlock store, asked for manager, he informed me they carry 10/30wt in lower tier pricing, I explained my experience at the Oakdale store he didnt understand why Oakdale told me this, When I told him Dave's name he hesitated, with a change of tone, said he had to go. - This had fishy written all over it! After using Jiffy Lube for many years - both here and in the Bay Area, I will never step foot in the Oakdale, CA location again. On a recent trip to have the oil changed, they convinced my husband to switch from Pennzoil to the much more expensive synthetic blend. Now my driveway has oil spots on it. I took the vehicle back on Monday and they inspected it, took pictures, and told me that it has no leaks, but that it might have some slight leaking from a seal on the block. My husband is blind and no help here. They further advised that changing to the synthetic blend sometimes causes that. This morning when I went to use the car there was a new oil spot in the driveway. I took pictures of the spot and it's location under the front of my car. I then wiped up the spot with a paper towel and took it to Jiffy Lube. I was greeted by a very young man. When I started telling him the story and showed him the paper towel - which he did not even look at, he very condescendingly snapped back "Ma'am, that's water. It probably came from your air conditioner." I am a woman and I am old, but I am not stupid. I left. Then my car phone rings and it's my husband telling me that Jiffy Lube called the house and they want me to bring back the car and they will change the oil back to Pennzoil at no charge. I waited a few minutes to calm down, then drove back to Jiffy Lube. Once again, they inspected it. took pictures, and told me there is no leak. They did not change the oil. They said the spot I saw is probably coolant. My car had been parked for over 20 hours. It was not coolant, and it was not condensation dripping from the air conditioner. The spots are very clean, new synthetic blend oil. These guys are rats. They're always trying to upswell you and talk you into things you don't need. Women need to be particularly wary. read more

We have taken or Motorhome and our car here about three times. We took the car last week we had our glovebox fall out completely in my hand our handicap sticker was no where in sight. The manager opened our glovebox to get our book to write in the oil change so apparently it happened with him and he shoved it back in. We were looking for handicap sticker and it was under seat. We went back the next day and a young Man was very nice and fixed it. We were leaving out of town got on 120 and noticed the front hood was shaking we pulled over and sure enough it was left open. You would imagine a major chain service station as Jiffy Lube would be all about just doing their job to meet a certain quota for the month. Coming from San Francisco, my car broke down in Oakdale. We walked around to find a shop that may be open but with no luck. We stopped by Jiffy Lube to see if they knew anywhere that can help although being a city guy I was expecting a cold shoulder. We spoke with Alfred, and he was more than generous. Understanding my situation, he quickly offered me to get out of the hot sun and relax inside and even gave us an offer to help ourselves to bottled water or coffee as we waited to see if he can get a hold of a mechanic while he was still busy taking care of business. I always go to Jiffy Lube in SF for services, but I wished if there was someone like Alfred in every service station. I can't thank him enough for taking time for a stranger like me even while he was busy! read more
