On my way back to Washington from SLC, I was about 20 miles outside of Ontario, OR when my dashboard went red. If you're from the 21st century this might not be surprising, but it was to me. My 2003 Mercedes was recently acquired and I'm nearly 72. Yeah. My last car was a 1993 beater truck. Everything's new to me. Nonetheless, it was telling me engine/alternator. It was raining hard and there were no exits with services. Then a second warning: Coolant. Engine Hot. Stop. The system failures cascaded as I held my breath. I made it as far as Take 5 Oil Change. Turns out there were guardian angels inside. Out from the store came James. He could tell I was in distress and asked if he could help me. This is a place that only does oil changes. I told him my problem. He told me what he thought had happened, but wanted to run it past Neal, whom he said knew more. We went inside out of the rain. Neal and James conferred, got me inside one of the bays, and checked it out. A destroyed tension pulley and serpentine belt. They checked around, found the correct parts and made arrangements for delivery (they're not a jobber). Alex was called and asked if he would come in and secure the parts. They made the repairs and got me on my way in time to make it to my prepaid hotel room down the road. I won't disclose the price we settled on, but we all had smiles on our faces. If I go through Ontario again I will get an oil change, and I would recommend them to anyone. I trust them with my car. It matters to them.

After telling the representative the size I needed twice, the technician there kept trying to sell me the wrong size tires. After working through that, I was quoted $1352 for a set of 4. Thinking the price somewhat exorbitant, I contacted Commercial Tire in Ontario for a quote, which I where I subsequently purchased the tires - $776 for a set of four tires of the same size, style, and manufacturer as those quoted by Schwab, a savings of nearly $500! What a rip-off from Schwab! Commercial Tire was cost effective and the personnel friendly and courteous, listening to my needs and not how much money they could take me for. Les Schwab was a great company went Les was alive, but now that the company is owned by a corporate hedge fund, it's all about money and nothing else. I'll never buy tires from them again! Not only that, the people that work there don't know anything about the business they're in, if my experience is any example. Look elsewhere than Les Schwab; I'll be going to Commercial Tire.

We've bought multiple vehicles and get all of our service done here because they're genuinely different. I've always felt equal, actually listened to, and never pressured into things I didn't understand or didn't need. Scott in the service department is hands down my favorite. He's knowledgeable without being pushy, friendly without being fake, and always takes the time to explain things in a way that actually makes sense. Bonus points for having coloring pages for my kids to keep them occupied -- that alone tells you he gets real life. If you're tired of the typical dealership experience and just want to be treated like a human, this is the place. And Scott is the reason we keep coming back.
