I came here in a panic, having brake and rotor issues. These guys got me in right away without an appointment and even gave me a discount. Shortly after, I was having loud, nasty grinding noises and was too scared to drive it any further. I parked it in front of their closed (Sunday) store. Left a message on the machine and they got to it first thing Monday morning, no questions asked. (My Hub assembly broke) They are a small, hometown shop who cares about the locals. Californians aren't going to understand how we operate around here.. and I'm okay with that. We tend to do things a little different in small town Idaho and I am personally very grateful for this quality and the men who jumped to help me get back on the road, safe and sound. These guys are honest and go the extra mile to make sure you get back on the road safely. We were heading home to Nevada from a week long camp trip in Montana towing a cargo trailer when we noticed some shaking in the front tires of our camper. We went to les Schwab in Ontario Oregon. They fixed the balance on the tires but failed to notice or check the air pressure in our back tires. We went 15 miles down the road to Parma Idaho and discovered our back tire was going flat not holding air. We drove into (Bruce and Rod tire factory) also known as point s, in the morning they took the tire off, found the problem (belt separation) put on our spare, checked the pressure on all tires, called around to the next town to find the right tire for us and then didn't even charge us for all of the trouble. Ive been here three times. I got trouble shoot job on my truck and an oil change, and smog check and finally a brake job. I went here the first time for the smog check and the fella that did it was a good dude. truck passed, I payed, said thank you and left so i thought this would be the good local place to go as I live just up the street. When my truck was having problems i came back because the guys were professional and did a good job before. they guys in back did just that, worked through the issue and fixed my problem. so, another good experience and nothing but praise to the fella in back with the part i needed (off of his own vehicle).... that was 100% awesome and I hope he knows how that helped me. then theres the third visit.....the brake job. here we go. I called the person at the front desk (manager?) early on and gave my vehicle description and asked for a price. i was given a price of about 120.00 but he needed to check on if the parts store had brakes. I needed to know the time it would take because I had a 4yo in tow and needed to plan accordingly. He told me that if N-A-P-A had them it would be just a couple hours but if he had to go to caldwell it could be 4 hours. that didnt work for me as......4 YEAR OLD IN TOW....so i asked "what if I brought the brakes in?" he said he could have it done in an hour and have 3 dudes on it......SOUNDS AWESOME!!!! I went to oreilly, got the brake pads and took the truck over. it was done as fast as my kiddo and i could walk down to the park just a few min away, play for 30 min or so, hit the gas station for a drink and walk back. everything is going well so far....good day. we (my kiddo and I), get back and theres the truck, outside and ready. I go to pay and dude up front (manager?) says....."thatll be 284.00".... I thought he was joking and said, "yeah, minus 140 right....ha ha"...... NOPE, DUDE WAS SERIOUS!!!! He said because I BROUGHT MY OWN PARTS THE LABOR IS TIME AND A HALF.....AND NO WARANTY! I can understand no warranty, that makes sense as to the qualito of parts the business doesnt purchase but never....and i mean never did he say that woul cost me more to DRIVE 35 MIN TO GET THE PADS, TO DRIVE 35 MIN BACK with a whiney four year old in tow to CHARGE ME TIME AND A HALF!!! WHAT A UNBELIEVABLE LOW LEVEL BUSINESS PRACTICE!!! IM 40 YEARS OLD AND HAVE NEVER DEALT WITH THIS, LET ALONE IN A SMALL TOWN LIKE PARMA. This is why we moved from the peoples socialist republic of kalifornia ......this was the biggest bummer ive experienced and what a scar on what is suppossed to be a "small town"... the "manager" is a (("supposed, have to check language")) ((crook and traitor)) to his own people and community. 285.00 for a brake job that he qoted me for about 120 because I BROUGHT MY OWN PARTS all the while saying how "bruce and rod" made this mandatory. well dude never told me the price. we settled on 190.00 for that sweet military discount after i told him his scam wont work on my card because 284.00 wasnt even on my card. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE SHAME.....AND I MEAN SHAME ON THIS ((MANAGER)) AND SHAME ON THIS COMPANY FOR DOING BUSINESS PRACTICES LIKE THIS!!! the only reason i cam here becasue it was a good quoted price and easier than doing it at home with my kiddo running around. FOR SHAME BRUCE AND ROD!!! THIS managers behavior falls on you. You ripped off your own cummunity and instead of a nice relationship of go to good work and good prices, you ((your manager)) ripped off a member of the community and Ill just do my work from home......who can afford 285.00 for a brake job?!!!! I was charged twice for an Idaho emissions check, the first passed, but Bruce and Rod's screwed up reporting the VIN. They were adamant I had to pay the second time when I got the card from the state telling me they were about to pull my registration and went back to Bruce and Rod's to have it redone. The second emission test failed- and I know that isn't Bruce and Rod's fault, but here's the kicker: I was setting fat-dumb-and happy after the first passing test, not using the time to fix the problem. Now the state plans on voiding the vehicle's registration in about two weeks. Not much time to get it fixed during the Christmas season. Thanks, Bruce and Rod's.
