Their price was higher(with coupon) than my car dealer for same service, price was the main reason I wanted to try service shops like jiffy lubes. This is is the first time I ever reviewed a Jiffy Lube before, but I felt I had to since this location goes the extra mile for its customers. The service is always fast and efficient for starters. The first time I went in for an oil change, they also saw I needed window fluid for my wipers and did that service for me without me having to tell them. Today, I needed a tire a rotation which was for a reasonable price too, and they saw my signals were on my dashboard that my tire air was running low. They gladly filled my tires with air with no extra charge. It's little things like that customers appreciate it, and will keep them coming back! I highly recommend using this jiffy lube. Sometimes bad things happen to good people and sometimes businesses make things better! I went to Jiffy Lube for an oil change and on my way home, I noticed a bad smell and smoke coming out from under my hood. I pulled in the driveway to investigate and saw oil running out from under my car!! I immediately drove back to the Route 9 Jiffy Lube where it was determined that my oil filter was faulty- the gasket failed. After apologies and a new oil change, the manager Chris followed me back to my house and proceeded to clean the oil stain from my driveway ON HIS HANDS AND KNEES! In addition, he gave me money for a car wash so any drips on my car's undercarriage would be eliminated. Terrific customer service! He could've handed me a few cans of the cleanser and left me to clean my driveway. Instead, he accepted responsibility and fixed the problem himself. THAT's the way to run a business. Try ripping you off as soon as you walk in the door. They unplugged my battery said it was bad and need a replacement I wasn't even there more then three mins. I came for an oil change and they tried starting me off by spending 120 dollars for a battery I get half the price on Amazon. I knew that was a lie they handed me an old receipt asking me if I wanted to replaced the battery I said no I wanted an oil change and that's it. They try to get all there customers with a dusty air filter to make u waste more money on an filter you already have. This is my second updated review. Any advice for future customers is find another location for your automotive needs! My car key was run over after being placed on my SUVs roof. After the incident the assistant manager was extremely condescending and never once apologized for his mistake. The assistant and general manager lied as to when I was to receive my payment for my destroyed car key, although I later found out after speaking to corporate and their district manager they are unfortunately uneducated on how their business works. After having my key replaced I immediately that Wednesday took them the bill. I later found out (after calling them 3 times) that the bill was not even submitted to their district office until the following Monday. That bring said, the branch assistant and general managers told me I would receive my payment by Sunday. This was an obvious false statement when the receipt was not even submitted. To give credit where credit is due, they did offer a free oil change. Thank you for your graciousness after wasting much of my time dealing with repairs and contacting your branch. I would not take my bicycle to get it's chains oiled at this location. read more

The lady that works there has such a nice personality. One of the mechanics came to me & said that he knows i'm here for the oil change only but that i should consider rotation of tires. I thought i took care of that at my mechanic but i did not. I'm glad the mechanic at Jiffy Lube was on the ball & i absolutely love the manager's consideration of the customers as well.Such pleasant & car educated people. I am a do it yourself type of guy, but the great quick service and friendly staff makes it hard to save the few bucks doing it myself. The staff even accommodated my so at 6 pm on a Friday during a Holiday weekend with helping to contain an oil leak. You cant go wrong for a quick service of your oil here. read more

We weren't off to a good start when kid that brought it in did it way too fast and then proceeded to open the door hard into the shop-vac, but luckily he didn't damage anything. I called before going there and asked the prices. I decided on the middle of the road oil. I had pulled up a coupon and had a fifty dollar bill. Between the two it would be just less than $50 I'm in the waiting room and the guy calls me to the counter. Tells me it's going to cost $52. I said I only had $50. He said I could go with the cheap oil. I said no, I want the middle , better oil and he says that's $52. I said I called and asked for the actual total and it should be less than $50. He said no $52. I said ok, never mind I'll go somewhere else. So I stand up to leave. He says "YOU CANT GO, YOU HAVE NO OIL IN YOUR CAR. I said I'm sure I had oil in the car when I came in. He said we already drained the oil. So now I had no choice. I had change in my ashtray for the other 2 dollars. They never topped off the fluids which they are supposed to do and part of what I pay for. But the big thing is that they NEVER TURNED OFF THE MAINTENANCE-REQUIRED LIGHT. and the oil I got is good for 5,000 miles but the sticker they put on the windshield was for 3,000 just to make more money. When I called they said I could come back but I drive quite a distance because the coupon was only for that specific Jiffy Lube. Job isn't that difficult- New oil - top off fluids- turn off orange light- out new sticker telling you when next service should be. They got every single thing wrong!! Never again. I always get my normal Mobile-1 full, synthetic motor oil change at $99, but Havoline for $79 has never been offered to me!!! I typically come when I have a coupon/promo, but I'd still like to be educated on all options available. Nevertheless, my service here is always sufficient. read more

Wanted a simple oil change. They tell me they only have a "Signature" service which includes a dozen things I don't need. Okay, told them to JUST change the oil and skip the rest. Tried to go to the website on the receipt to complain: northjerseyjiffylube.com does not exist! Got the 800# from their main website. They said Jiffy Lube DOES have a simple oil change BUT this particular location belongs to another company. Nice diffusion-of-responsibility play! Now I know why the bays are empty most of the time. I brought my Subaru Outback here for 2 reasons, my TPS (tire pressure operating system light was on and would not go away and I was in need of an oil change. I explained that I could not figure out why the light would not go off and that tall tires seemed to be at the appropriate 35 psi . Anyway, they finished their service and told me that the tps was probably broken and needed replacement. It did not go off. When i returned home, my fiance noticed that the one tire seemed low (it was sout of air) so he filled it. I worked that day and when i returned home, he checked all 4 tires and 3 of them had been overinflated to 50 psi. Unusually unsafe. We let the air out of the 3 tires and i was thankful that he noticed that something was wrong. The warning light went off and my car was back to normal. I would expect a minimum level of expertise at a jiffy lube and tire inflation guidelines should be a minimum expectation. Although the service was quick and the staff was very courteous, I would not recommend. read more

The south amboy team is very professional about what they do. My wife have had nothing but good experiences there that why we keep going back. For example we went to a Jiffy Lube in Hazlet and purchased wiper blades. The blades went bad about 5 months later, we went back to the Hazlet location and they refused to replace them. Needless to say we were a bit angry and I told my wife we should have gone to the S A location in the first place. We went home and I called S A location and they told us to bring the car in and they replaced them even though we bought them at another location. Further more I feel very comfortable letting my wife go there by herself because I know they will treat her fairly and won't try to sell her stuff the car does not need.
