Although he was not able to supply me the part himself, he went the extra mile and told me where I could find it. The man is great. There was absolutely nothing in it for him, but he still went the extra mile to help me out. I was able to install the tail light before the wedding and averted a disaster. They did their diagnosis. I was really happy they fixed the issue with the smell but even though they replaced the spark plugs, my RPMs are still off. Their cost was actually more than what I would have paid at the dealer but I do prefer to support local mechanics. John was nice to work with and I appreciated their communication and timeliness.

I went to Performance for a second opinion after a dealer's shop (which I had used for over 10…read moreyears) told my wife that her 9 year old SUV needed 4 new struts and 4 new tires for $3,200! Remember, this shop had done all scheduled maintenance, including oil changes for 9 years (and put new tires on less than 4 years ago). Performance did a complete inspection of the SUV, and determined the struts were fine, and the tires good for 5,000 miles! Their report included pictures and measurements, which I appreciate. They'll be getting all my non-dealer-required work for both my vehicles ftom here on out.

Beware of Valvoline Quick Change in Topeka Kansas! I stopped using them several years ago when I…read morefound out they don't drain the oil out of the oil pan, but suck it out through the dipstick tube, leaving all the sludge in the bottom of the pan. My daughter went there and spent $278 on an oil and transmission fluid change. Being very anal about maintenance, I checked her oil and transmission fluid the next day, and found the transmission fluid to be so low it didn't even show on the dip stick, and the oil level was also down at the add mark. We called Valvoline customer service and opened up a case and were told they would give us a refund. We took it back to Valvoline to get the fluid levels corrected. The transmission fluid was over a quart low! At the Valvoline store in Topeka they said the manager would need to call my daughter back about compensation for the inadequate service. The manager called my daughter and said she would not get any refund "because it was normal to have to get the fluids topped off after service." This may be the expectation at Valvoline, but not anywhere else I know of. I also asked them how they change the transmission fluid and they said they just suck it out like they do the engine oil. I asked them how they change the transmission fluid filter if they don't drop the pan and they said they don't change the transmission filter. Bottom line, if you want your car to last a long time don't take it to Valvoline.

I will say my only complaint is I wish they wouldn't tell me that my oil change will only take 40 minutes and it literally turns into 2 hours. So it's honestly just easier to drop off your car than to wait. There have been a few times when I needed my air checked on my tires and they took care of me right away. I called and was able to get an appointment the same day! I needed to get brake pads replaced on…read moreall 4 wheels, rotors replaced on the back wheels, and I also needed a small brake line replaced on one back wheel. All the parts were already there except the brake line, which they obviously didn't know needed replacing until they got underneath of it. I just dropped it off after lunch and came back near closing time to pick it up when it was completed. When I dropped it off I did ask them to change the oil, which I was unaware they done until I got there and seen the signs. I already had all the oil in my SUV to do it with, but just didn't have the oil filter with me. I also asked them if they could replace the shocks since all the wheels were already going to be off. The mechanic told me that he could get it all done. I already had an estimate on the brakes and rotors before I got there. Obviously I didn't expect an estimate on the spot for the shocks or the oil change with the oil provided. I came back to pick it up and paid the bill, which was around the estimate they gave me. So I knew they didn't do the shocks obviously. I figured they at least done the oil change, but nope they didn't. My oil was still in the back of my SUV. I was very disappointed that it wasn't changed because it had been there several hours. The guys that ran the shop were very nice and the place was organized for a shop. I was thankful to get it in the same day too. Cons: 1. Not everything was done as I mentioned. 2. My ABS and brake dash lights were still on even after ALL of them were replaced. Disappointed they didn't take the time to reset these lights. They are a real pain in the butt on especially if I want to sell the SUV at some point!

After I secured the new harnesses Automotion replaced the defective parts, installed the new ones AT NO CHARGE!!! This was a job that required the front wheels coming off and some panels. They didn't have to do it for free as they were not responsible for the defective parts. Thank you Automotion for going above and beyond expectations.
