I came to this location about a week ago, because I was told they had a 19.99 oil change coupon deal. I found the coupon on my phone and showed the young man that greeted me when I first got there. I made sure he was aware of what I wanted. Then when I filled out the paperwork, I wasn't sure what oil I normally get because my regular mechanic knew what I liked. (He is all the way in bradenton and I recently moved to riverview) I remembered it was synthetic that I usually get so I marked that on the oil options and put "I think" in parenthesis. I wanted the worker to double check with me because I'm obviously not very knowledgable about it since my normal guy is great with it. The worker joked with me about the I think part, then asked if that's what I want. I said yeah I think so. He never mentioned that it would be a BIG price difference and that the coupon would not be valid but would take off 20 bucks the pricing. Remember I came here thinking I was going to get a 19.99 oil change. When he started to ring me up and told me it would be $70, I panicked. I told him how I wanted the deal and he told me the synthetic is a price difference and the oil was already in the car so we couldn't stop it. If he had mentioned the price BEFORE they did it, knowing how I was confused, we could have avoided it. I would have changed the oil type for sure. I asked for the manager and he offered to take another 10 off but that is all he could do. I was not happy because I would be paying way more than what I went there to pay. He ended up charging me the 21 bucks instead but had a big attitude about it. I know that it was probably a common sense/stupid mistake on my part, but I honestly think if he just made a quick comment saying "oh the price changes with your choice of synthetic" the whole mishap would have been avoided. Was just in to get an oil change with my $18.99 coupon. After filling out their form ( I ck'd conventional oil change), I informed Joe that I had a coupon and he insisted on attaching it to my service order. We then discussed what oil I would like. I told him I wanted to use what was recommended by Ford for my car. After some quick typing he flashed several selections on his computer screen and proceeded to tell me that a synthetic blend of 5/20 was what I needed. He was careful not to mention the price and then tried to sell me a cabin filter as well. I agreed to the oil change but declined his filter recommendation. When he was finished he then told me my bill was $52.00! I voiced my disapproval with his price. He knew I had an 18.99 coupon and that was what I expected to pay. He conceded and charged me the coupon price. This kind of "bait and switch" behavior is not appreciated. I will not be back to this Jiffy Lube. Beware of "Fast Talking Joe"!! I have been gone to dealerships, Firestone, good year, express Lube and grease monkey. I have never been to one that has not tried to up sell something that was recommended for service by the cars manufacturer.( read your manual)they are in the business to make money. Some forget your not paying just for a part like an air filter from a parts store that you put in yourself, your paying for convenience for some one else to do it. Saves you time and gas. As for the type of oil you want in your car again read your cars manual some cars leave the manufacturer with synthetic blend or synthetic oils that they recommend at all oil changes. These oils cost more if you can't get that oil don't! But remember that new car warranty may not be valid any more your choice. Bottom line educate yourself on your vehicle. Went to this location for the first and it will be the last time,,,the manager by the name Eddy needs a inter communications course of how to deal with paying customers, my wife and I went there for just an oil change and 5 minutes later Eddy comes to say that we need five other things fixed on the car, I just had my car serviced by my regular mechanic a few weeks ago and I myself have maintained my car for the last 17 yrs. So when this manager came out with all these dire needs to be done on their premises I immediately said no thanks, " I'm just here for an oil change". He got rude and unprofessional when I told the other customers that were also there for an oil change to beware of these places that just want to bait you with all these extra expenses when all you came in for was an oil change. It's a common practice and a shame that there are many places like this one. They assume that all people that go to their establishment haven't a clue about cars, too bad for you EDDY, I hope who ever reads this thinks twice before going to this jiffy lube. read more

I would give no stars if I could. They are friendly but only because they want your money. They lie, are extremely manipulative, and will overcharge. They target women- I spent about 4x as much as I should've there but didn't realize until after when I spoke to multiple other mechanics who said I got ripped off. The only reason I went was because they were the only place in the area with availability, go figure. I waited there for over 3 hours to have a service done that should've taken an hour tops. While I was waiting I observed the dramatic difference between the way they work with male and female customers. With every woman who came in they would try to say this long list of things she needed fixed. They told one woman she needed to have her tires rotated and she had just gotten new tires the week before. This place is a joke. Don't go there for anything more than maybe an oil change (hopefully they won't screw that up for you) read more
