    Response from Jiffy Lube after the "resolution" they gave us

    I had my oil changed at the beginning of March and paid roughly $80. I use and have used jiffy lube quite a few times in the past, much to my husbands wishes. It's easy and quick for me. I was in and out in probably 30 minutes or less. Super friendly staff. Nice guys. I had no issues. Fast forward a couple weeks and I noticed something leaking on my driveway from my car. I thought it was just water from the A/C running but the leak never disappeared from the driveway. I went back to jiffy lube to tell them that something was had been leaking since I had my oil changed. They looked at it and said my oil pan gasket was leaking and needed repair. They gave us a quote of nearly $350 to have it replaced. $80 for the part and the rest in labor. I decided that was way too much and found someone else to do it. Come to find out, my oil also needed to be changed "again" because the oil was completely black. I sent an email to jiffy lube with my concerns and I received a phone call from the "area manager" Jaden Huff in response to a complaint I sent in over the weekend via the website. He stumbled his words and called himself a different position. I had my husband call him back to handle the complaint. When my husband spoke to him he told my husband that he was calling based off a bad review. My husband said yes and then there was an awkward silence and then Jaden asked why the bad review. It wasn't a review, it was a complaint against their service they provided. So as my husband started telling him about what happened, even though he already knew, Jaden said that he watched the video footage and that they did nothing wrong and started getting defensive towards my husband. Then he said they didn't touch the oil pan and in the notes it said there was already an existing leak, which was never discussed with me when I did the oil change that there was an existing leak.  My husband then proceeded to tell him that he was in the automotive industry and took my car to someone he knew that could fix the oil pan gasket. My husband then proceeded to say that said video evidence doesn't show that it was done correctly. Jaden replied and said "the video proves we did the oil change correctly and you will not be receiving a refund because it proves we didn't touch your oil pan". My husband then said that the oil was completely black and needed a new oil filter as well. Of which I have documentation from said auto shop with all the work that was completed on my car, including another oil change. Jaden then replied and said that could be down to how the car is driven. My husband then told him he didn't appreciate that he didn't seem too terribly concerned about the service they provided and Jaden basically spoke to him like they could do no wrong. Didn't offer any apologies for the service, regardless of fault and acted like they are perfect and don't make mistakes. My husband then said your disregard for your quality of service has lost you a customer. And his response was "Okay". When sending this back to corporate, they replied back and said the franchise denied the claim and they couldn't do anything and that we needed to reach out to them for further questions. No one contacted us back from the franchise. I'm completely appalled and disappointed in Jiffy Lube for the way this situation has been handled. Not only have my husband and I been treated poorly, this is exactly why my husband didn't want me going there. We always hear about Jiffy Lube being scammers and not doing oil changes and making a profit or talking people into services they don't need. And the reviews for all this franchisee locations seems to either be great or horrible. We will NEVER go back to any jiffy lube location regardless of franchise ownership because jiffy lube as a corporation doesn't care about their customer experiences either. Edited in response to "Business Manager"- My husband never denied looking at the footage. He asked you to send it to him and you said you had no way of doing that and that he had to come to the store. There was no follow up. Looking at the footage doesn't prove anything about my oil pan gasket. There was no leak before I went to jiffy lube and there was a leak after. That's not just a coincidence. And the lack of customer service regardless of fault is ridiculous. Getting defensive and rude to someone about a customer complaint is not the way you talk to someone. And you shouldn't have someone who gets like in that position. Thanks for your reply. Interesting that you chose to reply to mine but not the rest of the complaints from the past, all because I sent a complaint via the corporate page. We will definitely enjoy using a different maintenance company in the future.

When I pulled up, the person asked if I am using the same oil as last time. I said yes & she said the cost would $42.xx. I said I had a $24.99 coupon & she said that is just a discount. There is no where on the coupon that says $24.00 "off" & specifically states the Signature Service. She said people get confused by the coupon. I said ok expecting the Manager to say they will honor the coupon. When the service was being done, no one came over to speak with me. I then went into the office and asked to see the service rates (these should be posted). I told the gal that they are committing consumer fraud by offering one rate and charging a higher rate. The manager came in and showed me the rate sheet ($46.99 for the oil I needed). The gal was going to charge me for the higher synthetic oil (my last service here in August was not synthetic). In the end, my bill was about $32. The person who did the service (Jennifer) was great. My advice to the owner (I think I saw Shawn on other review replies) is to correct the coupon to note the word "OFF" the regular price. I still recommend the location, but I believe this was an honest error (I hope) that needs to be corrected.

I passed on the service, went to get a second opinion at a reputable brake servicing provider and was told my brake pads still have plenty of life and brake fluid level was 100% fine. Guess I'm just going to have to tell jiffy lube right from the start that I don't want any service advice and to just change the oil.

Their mechanic said it would cost almost $9000 to repair because the transfer case and transmission needed to be replaced. Then they offered me A LOT of trade-in value for it. That seemed fishy so I didn't trust them after the offer and decided to get a second opinion on the repairs. I am glad I did! As I said, I'm not a mechanic in any way so Mike helped me and explained that the pickup did need a new transfer case, but that the transmission looked good. I was quoted a price of $1700 to replace a bad transmission in my old Mazda 323…read more After dropping my car off and putting $1000 down on the repair in advance they removed my old transmission and then informed me that it was going to cost $4000 and I needed to give them an additional $1000 for them to order a new transmission for the vehicle. I paid a total of $500 plus registration for this car and it wasn't worth $1000 in running condition. I decided not to go forward with the repair. The suddenly nasty woman running the place refused to refund any of the money I had put down, threatened me about removing the car from her property within 72 hours or else I would face charges for something vaguely legal sounding and tried to tell me she was doing me a favor returning this vehicle to me with the old transmission in a box in the back of the car. I wish I had the time and the money to take her to court at the time. I was polite, professional and kindly throughout our entire interaction and ended up getting ripped off for $1000, had to arrange a tow for a nonoperational vehicle and got to listen to a ration of crap from an incredibly nasty wretch of a manager for my trouble. This was several years ago and I am still furious with AAMCO over this incident. Other people I have talked to have been ripped off with bait and switch incidents similar to mine and had experienced similar attitude from employees once you stop handling your credit card over without questions. I will NEVER go to AAMCO for anything and if anyone needs ammo for a lawsuit I'd be happy to testify about my experience and I can provide invoices that back up my story. AAMCO is terrible. Take your money elsewhere.
