We took our 1992 GMC Sonoma in for an alignment and had to bring it back because it was clearly not done correctly. When we got it home the first time, we could visibly see it had positive camber. We returned a second time to have it fixed, but it still had positive camber and too much toe. A few months later, our tires were worn out because we had to wait to get into a shop that actually knows how to properly align older vehicles. The technician didn't seem familiar with this truck at all -- he didn't even know where the alignment shims go, and my husband had to show him. We ended up taking it somewhere else a third time, and they corrected it properly. Unfortunately, this experience cost us a set of tires. I would not recommend this shop, especially if you have an older vehicle. read more

I've taken my vehicles here for over a decade, for oil changes and tires. Today I asked for pricing for new brakes (front and rear) as those need to be done. They quoted me $1046 (pads and rotors). I called the dealer and their service shop quoted $618 total for pads and rotors on both front and rear. So I went back to Dicks to pick my car up before they did the work, and when I told them their cost was over $400 more, they said 'be careful, other shops are using cheap parts that aren't reliable'. Umm.. this is the Toyota dealers service center that was way less expensive! So ya not a shoddy shop or anything. Then he said 'would you be willing to have us do the work if I matched that price'?' Really? You were going to gouge me for brake service and now want me to agree to let you work on my car? Umm.. No. If I hadn't called around I wouldn't have known any better. So no. You lost my trust and my business. Not sure what's happened to Dicks. They were always trustworthy in the past! But apparently now slimy. read more

Very high price gouging for common services. The place is dirty and messy, which usually means careless workers and sub-par results. They act like they are the only auto repair shop in town! I took my 2012 Nissan Cube to Dick's Point S in Battle Ground for a radiator flush yesterday. I also had noticed a mild rumbling noise in the engine compartment. Allen, the service tech was incredibly helpful finding the source of the problem. After a brief test drive I left my car and Allen figured out what was going on. Not only did I have one problem, but several issues were going on. The fact he got me in on the same day knowing I had an upcoming out of town trip is worth more than the money I spent on getting my vehicle fixed on the same day. Horrible service, I needed front break rotors turned, was told a $100. Was told they would look and call me before. He called said his guy put a pit in one of the rotors and now they need to be replaced at $sorry 413. I told him to put it back together. I would do it myself. He said he couldn't do that unless I paid for them and $235 labor 100 rotor. they charge double price for the parts, there parts. They threw the old ones away, so I couldn't see them when I picked up the car. Real fast. read more

Long time (15+ year) customer . . . with personal and company vehicles. Last two oil changes they decided my truck (2014 Duramax) needed synthetic oil and a chassis lube. First time I chalked it up to a younger employee who made a mistake. Second time, I gave clear instructions and after receiving the $179 bill I complained and was told that my truck required synthetic oil - this even after producing past receipts for straight 15-40. Then my wife had her oil changed there (2007 Subaru) . . . same drill. We are done with this place. read more

Well here we go again, first review for this location. I've tried to buy tires twice here in the past. This time I came in for a tire balance and rotation and after they have the truck on the lift with the wheels off they said they could not do it because I had wheel spacers and did not want the liability. Wheels are already off the truck now they put the wheels back on the truck so they have already acccepted liability. Very disappointed again. I have family members that have used them for years and they have been happy even though when I see the receipt my jaw usually drops. I had to buy a new tire and get it put on and rotated, as they put that tire on at 34 lbs they didn't check the other tire pressures and they all varied dramatically. As a young alone female in a unfamiliar state driving through I need to be safe and having the tires all be vulnerable to popping or wearing I feel like they should have just took that extra step in costumer service. read more

I like to shop local, but Dick's Tire has terrible customer service, extremely high prices (compared to competition that sells the same brand), and incorrectly diagnosed important issues that caused an accident. First issue: I bought two batteries with a 6 year warranty here for my Deisel work truck, and put them on our account. Two years later the batteries go bad, and leave me stranded, no big deal as they have a warranty. Take them in, and one battery had a bad cell and the other wouldn't take a charge. They tell me that they can't warranty them without the original receipt. Even though I bought it there, on an account, they would not look in there computer to verify. I let them know that I'd have to drive well over an hour round trip to the truck and wasn't certain I had it. They stated that I was necessary to honor the warranty, even though they knew the batteries were bought at Dick's Tire. I drove to where the truck was broke down and couldn't find the receipt, drove back to Dicks, then was informed that they only needed a license plate number. I explained the situation again, the truck was stranded 45 min away, but they said there was nothing they could do, and I was running out of time to replace the batteries before everyone's closing time. I went to NAPA and bought new batteries. Second issue: The front end of my truck started making a very bad clunking noise, I took it in twice and was told that there was nothing wrong. Later that week my upper ball joint came apart, lost control of steering and caused an accident. Called to tell them that I was having it towed to their shop, and that I just had it in for the issue. They stated that they were in no way responsible for the failure, which is fine, I just wanted it fixed. I told them what parts I thought would be needed, and replied that they had no idea how long it would take to get the parts needed, or if they could get to it soon. Had it towed to their competitor, and it was fixed and back on the road that day. Third issue: My front brakes were making a metal to metal sound, so I took it to Dicks to have it diagnosed at 3:30 in the afternoon, I waited there until 6, closing time. Was told as they were locking up that I needed to come in earlier next time. Came back the next day, they looked at the brakes without taking the wheels off. Was told that they couldn't find anything, and to "turn up the radio if the noise bothered me". Took it to their competitors, who immediately found the issue and fixed it right then, in and out in 30 min. read more

Well used to go there for oil changes, but too many young guns who do not pay attention or check fluid level's, always talking instead of listening. Then my room mate had bought a brand new set of Horse Trailer tires there. 2 years ago and the tires had 99% of the tread life left and had been under cover, She left on a trip to Utah and was just outside of Mt Home when right rear tire come unwound and destroyed her trailer fender and almost caused a catastrophic accident. When she got home, she took the tire to your store and your manager said oh out of warranty. So then we belong to a horse organization who is non profit and we ask your store for a donation, and you offered us a car wash. Word of mouth is not always a good thing and thee are a lot of Horse enthusiast in Clark county. So now we go to the professionals down the street. To offer a car wash is pretty much a slap in the face to people who have horses and spend a lot of money in your store. But I forgot it is not about giving back but screwing your customers who buy tires and getting second hand oil changes from a bunch of kids. read more

Well, after waiting 45 min at Les S. Looking to buy 2 full sets of tires. I came to Dicks Point*S in BG. Both were slow, & dicks also acknowledged & waited on 3 people who came in after me. Plus 2 were waiting as they had cars being worked on. After 25 min I was the only customer in main service area, & both employees ignored me... I guess PDX or Van get my money. I am 58yrs old, wearing Carhartt jeans, a Carhartt hoodie, & Keen shoes. I am local, & fit in... why am I ignored? Terrible service, when 2 local companies let $2000-$4500 go to Portland. I tried. The gentleman by the name of Scott that answered the phone was very pleasant. I explained that I was on my way home from hunting camp in my motorhome and my left rear tire kept losing air. I asked if they fixed motorhome tires. He said yes how soon can you bring it in. I told him I was on my way. All good things to say about this shop, especially the battle ground location! It's typically hard to find the time to squeeze in an oil change, but every time I come here it's the quickest stop. You don't have to leave your car which is convenient if I have my kiddos with me. I would also like to include that the customer service here is phenomenal! Called Interstate Battery Distribution center on Vancouver and they told me to go to Dick's that they had my battery. I went in and met with Scott nice man. But in one of our conversations another salesman came in with other customers in the waiting area and start talking rude to Scott. I asked Scott who in the hell is that, my brother and co owner Rick. This guy thought he really ruled the world and he talked to the customer waiting at the counter the same way. No one should be talking this way to co workers or customers the way Rick talked to them today. My opinion of Rick is that he has a large ego that he wants everyone to know he is the owner and boss. Well Rick you will never have any of my business again. Apparently you do not need anyone's business by the way you act. Just remember Rick without a customer you do not have a business and us customers do not need you. They are other places in town and all over Washington and Portland is only 30 minutes away. read more

If I could give no stars I would, my boyfriend and I went to get a new driver side tire on and when we pulled up my boyfriend asked the gentleman in the pit if he can take our tire off and put one we had in the trunk on the gentleman said word for word "FUCK NO" my boyfriend said "what why not" the guy replied "you're too low how are we supposed to Jack it up" my boyfriend said "umm I have some blocks of wood I can help you guys" the guy said "nope we can't do it not with a used tire either" so my boyfriend pulled into a parking spot went inside to talk to someone came back and we left. Have been going to Dick's for almost the past 20 years and have always experienced great customer service. Scott always has a laugh and a smile for his customers and they provide excellent service, fast. I think they get the fact that if you treat your customers with respect and courtesy and provide a valuable and needed service then they will have lifetime customers (which is the case with my Wife and I). It seems like Scott knows and remembers all of his customers names and vehicles. Couldn't be any nicer and professional. Cool headed in an emergency too. During one visit several years ago and elderly customer mistook the accelerator in his car for the brake. Car went through the desk (on the oil change side) and up on a small (pulpit I believe where one of the technician stands when bringing the vehicle in). Made a big bang and boom and despite destroying the desk the folks there at Dick' couldn't have been any nicer or understanding with the elderly gentleman. Terrible service. The manager gives you attitude. I went in for an oil Change and right after I started to notice an oil leak so I started looking around and found that they didn't tighten my oil filter at all! I could finger tighten it. This isn't the only time I heard of this my buddy went in for an oil change and they didn't tighten his oil plug. This is just terrible workmanship. And their manager needs fired. If you doubt his work he will give you attitude. Just sad to see this great company turn into such a bad company and these aren't even the only problems I've heard of. I don't expect special treatment or anything, but I have worked MANY customer service and retail jobs. when a paying customer comes in AT close, and I mean literally as you JUST closed the door, We helped them. management and owners said that if we close at 6 and someone comes in at 6 you serve them. I guess not the same theory here. I pulled up right at 6 ( not knowing they were closed as their OPEN sign was still on) they literally closed the door as I turned into the driveway "do you have time for an oil change?" The oil guys were really off this week. I arrived with one car ahead of me being serviced. The car on the right bay was being serviced. The car in front of me left and I moved up. I was told twice "we'll be with you soon". I waited. I waited. I waited. The car to the right of me finished and left. A bright and shiny pick up arrived to the right of me and he immediately received attention. My truck is not so new, but I love it. Finally, I got a little attention. My truck shook several times because the guy below had a problem getting the old filter off and the drain screw loosened. They finally got those removed. I watched one guy look at my tire pressure. I'm pretty sure he didn't check the other three. I'll bet if I take it to another tire service the tires will be low on air. I'm missing a couple of air caps on the tires. As a courtesy, I thought they might replace them. I've spents plenty of money there. So no one bothered to look at my air filter. With the recent deadly fires I would think, evidently not them, that the filter might be extremely dirty. And business being business, I would think they would want to sell me an air filter. I told them to look at my filter. It was dirty. They suggested maybe next time I should get one. I told them I wanted it replaced. It was like I was pulling their teeth out. I had to remind them that they were looking for an air filter for me. "Oh, yeah, I forgot." Well, I finally got the air filter put in. There seems to be a newer crew in the oil bay and I'm not too sure that they all have it together. They didn't check my power steering fluid. I'm wondering if they oiled that stuff underneath by the tires. Packing that grease, something like that. I'll think twice before I go back. No, I'll probably check out another service provider. I can't count on these guys any longer. I think they presented a lazy, I don't care attitude. And one of the employees was not wearing a mask while talking to his coworkers.
