Just paid $69.00 for an air filter replacement. What a racket. I'll never go back. I just got Jiffy'd alright, but they forgot the lube.

UPDATE 11/18/25: After my original review, the new owner, Mher, reached out to me personally in…read moreexactly the thoughtful and respectful way he described in his response. He was kind, genuinely apologetic, and took full responsibility for what happened. He also mailed me a check covering half the cost of a full set of replacement tires I purchased elsewhere, which I truly appreciated. During our conversation, he explained that since my 10/16/25 service, they've implemented a completely new system for managing service tickets. Instead of different mechanics handling different tasks on the same car, one technician is now assigned to oversee the entire job from start to finish, including quality control and final sign-off. That change directly addresses the issue that led to my situation, and I'm glad to hear they're taking it seriously. My original experience was upsetting and created real safety risks while I was traveling alone, and I stand by how important it is for shops to be vigilant--especially with something as critical as tires. But I also want to acknowledge when a business steps up. The owner's follow-through, professionalism, and commitment to improving their processes made a difference, and I appreciate the effort to make things right. I hope the new systems and leadership bring this location back in line with the honesty and integrity the Christian Brothers brand is known for. In October 2025, Christian Brothers East charged me over $1,000 for a full 4-tire replacement--but never actually replaced my tires. They kept my car all day, told me everything was done, and sent me on my way. I discovered I didn't have new tires after all two days later, 750 miles away when my tire pressure light came on during a solo road trip. A Firestone mechanic confirmed my tires were old and called the CBE manager, who refunded everything (including an inexpensive filter charge). I appreciate the refund, but this created serious safety risks and stress--especially since I was a woman traveling alone through remote areas. FYI, this location is under new ownership and feels disorganized and poorly supervised. It's disappointing, given that the Christian Brothers brand emphasizes Christian values, honesty and integrity. So disappointing. My past experiences with Christian Brothers WEST were excellent, but this East shop is not living up to the brand's values. Had a cylinder misfire code and very rough idle. Got an email that my quote was ready. They quoted…read morean engine replacement for like $7,000 on a Toyota engine with less than 160,000 miles and gave no explanation. They were going to replace with a used engine with more miles on it than my current engine. Gave them a call to ask what the deal was. They said it failed a compression test. I took it somewhere else for a second opinion. The second mechanic fixed it by replacing some fuel injectors and O2 sensors for a couple hundred bucks. I told the second mechanic that I was told it failed a compression test. He told me he did a compression test too and it looked fine. That was over 3 years and tens of thousands of miles ago and my engine is still going strong. I think this is the first bad review I have ever left because I don't want to hurt someone's business and I'm sure there are good mechanics who work there, but I wanted to caution people to get a second opinion before accepting a big job from CBA on Woodlawn.

The guy who was going to repair the key ignition, called me if I would like to get a used part instead of a new one and I totally agreed because the cost was much less than the new one. The mechanics were excellent at that time. However, something happened a few years ago as the people changed. Prices went up quickly and it made me feel the recent change of employees was the issue. The last time I went there, I had an oil leak - after the oil change. I told them about it, had to take it back and they said it was not an oil leak and all they had to do was tighten up the lid. However, when I took my car to another auto shop to clean the headlights, they found an oil leak. They fixed it and did it the right way. This particular incident made it clear to me that Yost had no intention of fixing my vehicle correctly. That made me very angry as I spent thousands of dollars in the past. I have stopped going there. I would never recommend their services to anyone.

I started the job…read moremyself but soon realized it was too much for me, so I took it to Expert Auto on 37th and Woodlawn in Wichita. I had removed some cosmetic parts from the dash like the glove compartment side panels and kick panels, but I never touched the electrical components. When I brought the truck in, everything was working fine. Expert Auto agreed to finish the job and put everything back together. After spending over $2,300, I picked it up three days later only to find the digital clock and radio didn't work, and the AC wouldn't power on until you drove for about two minutes. When I voiced my concerns, I was told they couldn't confirm everything worked beforehand and that the AC delay was due to the battery being disconnected for several days, insisting the "computer" would catch up and fix itself. Two weeks later, the problem persisted and the AC went out completely. I took it back, and after another inspection, they said they didn't know what was wrong and advised me to take it to a wiring shop. After paying $250 for a wiring diagnosis, I was told the dash needed to be taken apart again--at a cost of over $4,500 with no guarantee of a fix. When I called Expert Auto again, Tim told me there was nothing they could or would do. Now, on a fixed income, I'm left with no AC or heat going into winter, unable to afford repairs, and Expert Auto refuses to make it right. Absolutely horrible service--save yourself the headache and go elsewhere!
