I loved that it offers so many activities in one place--kayaking, paddleboarding, the beach, picnic areas, a gift shop, and educational exhibits--all at very reasonable prices. Parking was only $5, and the kayak and paddleboard rentals were affordable too. Unfortunately, I happened to visit on a day with an extremely low tide. Paddleboard rentals were suspended, but kayak rentals were still available. The staff did warn us about the low tide and advised us to stay near the edges to avoid getting stuck. However, as someone new to kayaking, I didn't realize just how much the tide would impact the experience. For a large portion of our trip, the water was so shallow that our kayaks constantly got stuck. We had to repeatedly get out and drag them through the water. At times, the water wasn't even ankle deep. I completely understand that the staff can't control the tides, but I honestly wish kayak rentals had also been paused that day because the conditions made it difficult to really enjoy the experience. By the time we finished kayaking, we were exhausted and felt pretty gross from walking through the murky water, so we ended up skipping the beach altogether. Outside of that, the park itself looked lovely. There was a nice picnic area, a cute gift shop, and they even had a rescued sea turtle with a volunteer sharing information about sea turtle conservation, which was a really nice touch. There also appeared to be several educational exhibits throughout the park, although they happened to be closed during our visit. One downside was a pretty unpleasant smell near the gift shop, but I'm guessing that may have also been related to the unusually low tide. Despite my experience, I haven't written the park off. The photos I've seen online make it look absolutely beautiful, and I think we were just unlucky with the timing. I'd definitely consider coming back on a day with higher water levels to give it another chance. It sounds like a great park overall--I just recommend checking the tide conditions before planning to kayak or paddleboard so you can enjoy it at its best.

Eventually he went on to own 100,000 acres. He founded Kelsey City and invested a million dollars. The first lots of land he sold for development are where the park stands today. Eventual money problems with the IRS and the Great Depression forced Kelsey to sell his town and in 1939 residents voted to change the name of the town to Lake Park. Located in the park is the historic 1925 mission style Evergreen House. It belongs to the Lake Park Historical Society and they hold meeting and lectures in Evergreen House. The house has cypress ceilings and front door and Dade pine floors and a fireplace. It's back patio overlooks Kelsey Park. The park has six tennis court and area residents can schedule lessons. There is a children's playground and the park has two beautiful fountains and a gazebo that can be rented from the city for events. There are covered picnic tables and a restroom. A street cuts the park in half. On the opposite side is the part of the park that lines the Lake Worth Lagoon. This part of the park has a parking lot and an area for fishing. I love the history that resides in this park. The city of Lake Park has honored their founder while creating a wonderful green space that can be used by town residents today, Many events are staged by the city here including an upcoming Easter egg hunt. This park is a beautiful place to bring the community together.

You could drive for 30 minutes and still not see everything! We stopped by on a weekday and the park was pretty and relaxing. Not too many people on the couple of trails we did. The observation tower is closed but they still have a nice boardwalk up to that area that makes for a great walk! It's pretty highly elevated for Florida - kind of impressive in person! Entry is $6 per car, and the lady provided a map and recommended her favorite trail. We checked that trail out as well (the white trail), but the height of the observation tower trail was really the star! We decided to drive around after doing both trails, and we saw their campgrounds. So surprising at how busy this place was! It seemed there was hardly an empty spot! Must be a happening place to camp! We'd definitely return for more adventures, as this is a cool park!

Lake Side Park is located in the Village of North Palm Beach. It is behind a neighborhood with homes that have back yards that seem to blend in to the park providing them with a stunning view at the back of their properties. Park amenities include a basket ball court although the netting for basket is missing, a sand volleyball court, a playground with swings, and a large Tiki hut picnic shelter that can be rented if you ten or more people and you are a city resident. There are also large trees and paved paths that wind through the park. Some people have homes that have back yards that seem to blend in to the park providing them with a stunning view at the back of their properties. The real jewel of the park is the beach access to the Intracoastal Waterway. The park has a hard packed beach you can stroll down. It can be accessed from one end of the park by just stepping on the sand and at the other steeper end of the park there are two stair ways that lead down to the beach. Across the water you can see the condos lining Singer Island. This is a great place to enjoy the breeze and watch the boats sail by. If you are in the area I highly recommend stopping by to take in the beautiful scenery.

Some different friends who also Disc Golf had said it was one of the best courses around so I finally felt the urge to make it up there. The open a little early which is nice too. Entering the park is impressive in itself. There are so mnay things going on from a large lake spanning waterpark, wildlife all over, a BMX park that's a good size, and of course, the disc course. The things some had said that was obvious immediately, is that the place had far more rolling hills than any park or place in South Florida. I started off at the top of a hill and had to through down to the bottom of the hill. There were shots later where I had to throw over a pond and up a hill. From the elevation changes to the great forest and water holes, it really was worth the drive. Heck, I've been back 2 more times this month already.

During the COVID lockdown, walking the trails became my favorite pastime. Especially as a pregnant woman looking for peace and fresh air, lol. Years later, those same trails are still a favorite activity for my son and me. Just yesterday, I attended a picnic at one of the park's pavilions, and it was wonderful. The swings and playground next to the pavilion made it perfect for a family-friendly event. The space provided plenty of seating and shade, so everyone could enjoy themselves without being overwhelmed by the heat. There's still so much of this park I haven't explored yet, and I genuinely look forward to continuing to visit for years to come.
