There's the main pool that goes from 3 feet to 6 feet deep, a spa pool (jacuzzi), and a smaller wading kids pool. I'm in town visiting my dad so I'm glad we found a pool near to where he lives. I would definitely recommend using these facilities. The charge was $3 per person.

Any senior who lives near this civic center needs to visit and examine their calendar of activities…read moreand events. They have classes and activities on site and daytime trips around the Central Florida area that begin there. Trip prices cost less than what would be paid on your own and include transportation, lunch, and entry/ticket for the event. Also, the people who work there are professional and thoughtful. If the event is full, you can be placed on a wait list, and someone will call if there is a cancellation. You are missing out on fun and interesting things to do if you fail to check out what is offered.

It also has one pavilion with picnic tables. Overall, a great time to spend an hour with kids. You can check the schedule online and book a court or wing it and do so when you arrive. I've noticed a time or two when it looks like every court is blocked online and they were actually all open, so I'd recommend calling to verify if there are no spots. Day-of has always worked for me. The courts themselves are well-maintained and many are recently re-painted. Some of them have the practice nets separating the two courts so your balls stay close by (this is for newbs like me). The bathrooms are nearby and adequate. Nothing spectacular, but they work and have been clean when I've been there. Overall, great courts! I'd recommend.

It's dog-friendly, so we can't wait to return with our leashed pups! We stumbled upon the old country club building and other structures, and it was fun learning the history behind the area. Can't wait to return! Note: plenty of parking, but police was waiting by the gate when we left 15 minutes to close, so be mindful of open hours!

We need parks a d athletic fields in our communities and Altamonte Springs is lucky to have Merrill Park.

Merrill Park is a lovely little gem of a park that is nestled in the heart of Altamonte Springs, FL…read morenear the Altamonte Mall. I found out about this park because I came with my wife, our son, and our granddaughter for a playdate. The park is home to the Altamonte Fast Pitch Academy and Babe Ruth Softball. They have three full size softball fields that are used for the softball academy, for Babe Ruth Softball, and you can also use them to practice on as well. Located between the three fields is a concession stand and the restrooms. What I really lived about this park is the three playground areas they have, each playground has their own set of things for kids to play on and a different theme for each area. They also have a swing-set area which includes a swing that you can sit in with your child and be able to swing together. There are also to pavilion areas for you to choose from one is called Oak Pavilion and the other is the Beach Pavilion which has two beach volleyball courts for you to play volleyball on which is a nice touch. Lastly I love the scenery of the park it has lots of great looking trees around the park. So if you are ever in the Altamonte, FL area and you want a nice secluded park to take your family to then I would recommend Merrill Park.
