I was in the Auburn area. Mu sister and I decided to order from this establishment because we wanted chicken tenders. I got the chicken tender snack box. It came out to be $9. We placed the order over the phone and waited for about 15-20 minutes before heading to get the order. When I got there, the order wasn't ready. They haven't even started cooking the food, which was confusing. I stayed patient, but also asked if they cooked to order? They responded by saying, NO. There were only three guests inside eating, so I dont know why I waited an additional 15 mins for the food. One of the ladies stated that she put an extra tender in the boxes. It was the perfect Southern stop for out of towners. There was good chicken, bible verses over the tables, and information about gun safety classes! We loved it! I even saw a stray cat in the parking lot and quickly declared that I love the South. The inside of the restaurant has a cafeteria feel. Orders are placed at the counter and then food is brought to the table. The restaurant is fairly large and has quite a few booths and tables for dining. We started with Corn Nugget appetizer which was a large portion for an appetizer. The nuggets were good too. I had the Finger/Wing combo which was a nice way to try the chicken two ways. The chicken fingers had a nice breading on them and the special sauce was really good for dipping. The toast was deliciously buttery. The crinkle fries were good, but not too exciting. Loved Jim Bob's Chicken Fingers, I just wonder if Jim Bob had to make a decision in life about opening a business or a church. Jim Bob's has some great food and excellent service for a Mom and Pop chicken finger restaurant. It's a very family oriented, Christian business as you see passages from scripture nearly everywhere within the business. Think Chick-Fil-A was "guilty as charged," just wait 'til you see Jim Bob's. I cracked up because as I left Jim Bob's I saw their catering van parked in front of a church near the Auburn airport. Small world. The service was quick, everyone was super friendly, and the restaurant was clean. Can't wait to return. When I left I had to go through a fast food restaurant to get more food because all of us where still hungry. Me and a buddy finally made the 15 minute drive to go try it and it was definitely worth it. You walk in and are greeted by the sweet little old lady behind the counter. The decor is straight out of the 90's but honestly adds to the experience. Given its JimBob's chicken fingers I got the chicken finger plate with okra and fries. The chicken was absolutely delicious, fries were cooked to perfection and the okra was great too. I also got a piece pecan pie. I tried to order just a wrap and I'm told I would still have to pay for the combo because of how their system is set up? Really?! The only thing holding them back from 5 stars is their relatively high prices ($7.50 for five tenders, fries, and a drink). About a year ago I would have given it a 4.5 only because of the price, but now the chicken is dry and the fries lack flavor. As far as chicken finger places go this chain (and specific location) has always been my favorite. I worked here for about 9 months during college (2003) and one thing that sticks out in my mind was the health inspector regularly eating here with is family. The staff was always very friendly and the atmosphere nice as well. We still pop in from time to time and enjoy the more expansive they have now vs 10 years ago.
