My family had the best meal!!! Our server Jasmine was so sweet and made the experience great!!! Came right when they opened at 4pm. Their bread is my favorite. You get two loaves and it is sooo soft, with the most perfect cinnamon butter. We got two apps the Mozzarella and Onion Straws... both were insane. Sooo good. My brother got the Big Mike and had plenty of leftovers. My mother and I split the ribeye! We were able to do the "split" option where we both get two sides. I got asparagus and a salad! This was our first time coming here. We arrived as a party of 3. There was a 30-40 minute wait to be seated which was fine. The customer service at the front desk was excellent and we were noticed and greeted upon arrival. When seated and after ordering it took about 10-15 minutes to receive our appetizer and food which wasn't bad. Our server seemed to not want/struggled to accommodate our needs. We did not receive knives for our steaks and had to constantly raise our hands to get our server's attention. True enough the restaurant was busy but we did not ask for much. The complementary bread was fresh and hot and the sodas were not flat. Both the appetizers(tiger shrimp and side salad) were amazing but the main course on the other hand did not meet our expectations. We all ordered our steaks medium well but one of our steaks were cooked too well that a knife could not even cut through it. Also, the broccoli was halfway done and was still crunchy. The appetizers were the star of the show 10/10!! The main courses and table service need major improvement. Sad to say I don't know if we will be back. read more

First time here, but I had my usual steakhouse order of a filet medium with loaded potato and salad with ranch. While on the pricey side of $48, the filet was exceptional. Well cooked , juicy and VERY tender, just as a good filet should be. And while not meat, the salad and bread were excellent as well. I overshot my meal budget on this trip, but it was worth it this time. I'd love to bring family here on a special night out when next in Auburn. read more

Our waitresses that we had last night were very sweet and attentive, and I appreciate their effort. Unfortunately, the food was a MAJOR issue. I ordered a medium filet mignon, and it tasted SPOILED. I had my husband try it, and he agreed. They brought out a replacement, but the second steak was also SPOILED--both confirmed by the manager/chef. My husband's steak was also wrong twice--first overcooked when he said medium then the second steak was rare. They removed the filet mignon from the bill and gave us a free dessert, but it doesn't make up for the risk of food poisoning. Food ordered: Crab dip - very salty Baked potato - delicious perfectly cooked Teriyaki chicken - very salty - then part of the chicken was unbearable to eat due being too salty. Potato casserole - could not eat too salty. Steak - cooked to order, but I've definitely had better and for much cheaper prices. Overall $90 meal, and the best thing was the baked potato Hopefully they were just having an off night with the amount of salt that was in each dish, but we are not willing to give it another shot for that amount of money. I have been coming to Big Mikes for a long time and the last two were just not that great. They were crowded last time and I thought that was the problem. Onion straws swimming in grease and the steak queso had more onions than steak and was mediocre. One of our steaks was way overcooked and my half pound hamburger was a burnt puck that wasn't a half pound. On top of it they charge you extra for a credit card. Not 4 I like the green.% like what they get charge but almost 8%. They made $6 off me using a card on top of all the extra charges they add on. Not sure I will ever come back. read more

Traveling from Aiken back home to Destin, FL and thought I'd get a good meal in tonight instead of junk food. Unfortunately, my food was terrible! The steamed broccoli was cold as if it had been microwaved and the fries were soggy and stale. Not the same restaurant I remember just months ago. After fighting to eat the steak, I cut into a fourth of the steak that was not edible. I have provided a picture for your review and consideration. I only had water with my meal and it was listed for about $45. The manager comped me for the meal and with a final tip of six dollars my bill was $43. Our party of 4 was seated immediately because it was a slow night, but after ordering they completely forgot all of our salads that came with the entrees, and the food itself took over half an hour to reach the table. I had a baseball cut filet that tasted fine but it was overcooked and so cold by the time it reached our table that the scoop of butter on top didnt melt at all. Luckily the rest of our party enjoyed their entrees. If you're considering coming here because you've enjoyed Big Mike's other locations I wouldn't recommend it because it is not the same experience. read more

Tonight was our 5th visit to Mike's. Each visit has been worse than the prior. Two pet peeves plus a couple inexcusable mistakes! Why are you serving lime slices in drinks that are so thin you can't even squeeze them? Why are you serving salad overflowing in a small bowl but with huge chunks of lettuce that have to be cut? When cut, half the salad spills onto the table. That's fun Anyway, those aren't the real complaints for tonight. We got a well-done steak instead of the med-rare we ordered. That's ridiculous at a steakhouse! To make up for the mistake, a dessert was offered. We ordered the homemade bread pudding which we previously had on our first visit when it was delicious. Tonight it was burned to a crisp. Looked like a brownie. I mean, really? Why did the kitchen send that out? It even smelled burned before I even touched it and felt how dry and crispy it was. We came here after a lacrosse game and I was hoping for at least a good burger. The cheese was this frozen cheese that was barely defrosted. There is so much bread on the burger that it was really difficult to eat. It definitely was a big burger, but that's the only positive you could say About the meal. The fries were OK at least. We also ordered a hamburger and I just feel like if I'm paying 50 dollars for a steak that they shouldn't charge 3 bucks for cheese 4 bucks for bacon and 2 for jalapeños. I just finished the best meal I've had in a long while. I order the strip steak smothered in herb butter, onions and mushrooms. It was perfectly prepared, tender and full of flavor. We followed this with bread pudding a la mode, also perfect. This may be our new place to celebrate. read more

We came after the third quarter of the Auburn home game and it was a friendly place to retreat to after an unexpected Auburn loss. The staff was friendly. We were told a 20-30 minute wait, but it seemed likely only 15 or less. There is a bar with Tv screens where you can wait, but I had two kids who were underage, so did not choose that route. You receive a pager, so even if you decide to wait outside, it will be easy to know when your table is ready. They only seat parties that are all physically there. My daughter really enjoys the mozzarella cheese wedges which are fried and have a delicious marinara dipping sauce. My brother and son shared a ribeye with two sides. I got the grilled shrimp salad which was very flavorful, and which I would recommend if you like shrimp and you like salad, lol. My daughter got the teriyaki chicken with two sides, which is the only dish I would not recommend, as the chicken was too dry according to her. They also served us rolls with a cinnamon butter which was delightful. The decorations are on the sparse side, and the tables are covered with brown butcher table, so it is a casual place, but affordable! If you pay with cash, you get a 2.5% discount, which I will remember the second time I come! The prices listed on the menu are for paying with credit card. Overall, it was a lovely experience on a disappointing football night, so it helped cement the evening with a positive, uplifting meal! read more

Big Mike's Steakhouse is an Alabama original. It is a fast growing franchise that started in Thomasville and targets mid-size cities. Currently other locations include Moundville, Orange Beach, Andalusia, and coming soon to Gunterville. Big Mike's brings quality streaks to areas that have limited options. I really enjoyed our visit to the Auburn location. I ordered the Chophouse Steak. Their version of the hamburger steak was executed nicely. It was very big, and topped with gravy, onions and mushrooms. I ordered steak fries and Caesar salad. Bring a big appetite because this is a lot of food. Service was excellent. read more

My husband and I dined in at Big Mike's tonight. After waiting a hour for my Ribeye meal the steak came out bloody. I asked for my steak to be medium well, the sides of the steak were medium well but when I got to the middle the steak the entire inside was red. I notified the waiter and she told me to pick up the cut up steak off my plate and put it on another plate and recook the bloody steak I had. I have never experienced someone asking me for my steak back and taking it back to the kitchen after being cut in pieces in order for them to recook it. I gave her the steak but then I thought about it and asked could I have a new steak cooked instead. She agreed so while I waited my sides just sat on the plate and preceded to get cold. She did not offer to bring me new hot sides. When she showed up with the steak it did not have seasoning on it or garlic butter. The steak was already in a to-go box. I took the steak home and when I say it's the worst steak and service I have ever had it's the worst. My husband and I have eaten at Big Mike's plenty of times but they have definitely fail off. A waste of a night and the food is definitely trash worthy. Side bar: the potato casserole was extremely salty and taste like someone poured lemon juice in it but the ingredients did not have lemon juice. My husband steak was bloody but he had the same over powering lemon taste in his potato casserole as well. read more

If I could give this a 0 star review I would. There were multiple open tables available and not one person besides the table busser was doing anything to clear them. In my personal opinion if you aren't doing anything you could help someone out who is running around a massive restaurant cleaning your tables. The hostice was sitting on the counter and rolling silverware while the other hostice was doing absolutely nothing. We waited an hour and half for our table and at this point are extremely unimpressed by the service here. I am disappointed. read more

We have eaten at this location several times and always had good food, I figured that into the review or my score would be lower. Recently on 03/29 I took my family to the auburn location. Service was great as always and attentive but the food fell far short of expectations. My kids meal were well prepared however both my wife's and my steaks were served cold. Also I got the big Mike like I usually do and I understand ribeye has more fat but the fat on this one seemed excessive. It might have been the temperature it was sent at but it was very unpleasant. And I ordered medium rare but to me it was over in some places and under in others. My wife's filet was not only cold but under cooked. On the positive our server was above and beyond helpful and like I said the other meals were well prepared. Hopefully this was a one time issue and will improve when we next go read more

We wasted over 2-1/2 hours for dinner. It took us almost 2 hours to get our meals AFTER we placed out order. The server came by after an hour to see if we needed anything and said our order ticket was third in line. About 15 minutes later our server came back and said our order had been misplaced. We noticed everyone that came in about the same time we did had eaten and were gone. We eventually got 3 of our 4 meals. The fourth meal, a sandwich, came 10+ minutes later. Three of us had steaks. All were ordered medium rare. The steaks were over cooked and dry, definitely not worth the $45+ plus we paid for each steak. A huge disappointment! Bottom line, save your time and money. There are several excellent restaurants in Auburn, this is not one of them. read more

I was very disappointed in the actions of your staff this weekend. A family or 7 with a young child drove all the way from Birmingham to dine at your restaurant Saturday night. They arrived and got on the wait list around 6:20 pm. They waited for 3 hours and saw on their app they were the next large group to receive a table. However, one of your waitresses sister arrived with a bachelorette party and your staff gave them that families table... bumped everyone that had been waiting for hours down to accommodate them. (THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE) Then after that family discussed this issue with your staff for a lengthy period of time your staff then placed this group at a 4 seater table in the back corner when there were larger tables available. I watched as this group had to cram an extra seat around a 4 seater table but there was large tables that seat 8 people available and your staff put groups of 2 and 3 at the large tables. This was my first time coming to your restaurant and we as well waited 3 +hours ... the way that family was treated really left a sour taste in my mouth of how your staff is treating your customers. The only reason that family or mine stayed was because we had already invested so much time and it was too late to go anywhere else. I hope something will be done so this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

For the price, it's just not the vibe. IF you are able to be seated, you'll have waited over an hour. We were lucky and went on the night of the Alabama/Auburn game so there wasn't a wait, but have left a few other times due to the wait time. The seats are junky and remind me of a run down facility. The servers are not dressed well. For a steak dinner for 2 that is over $100, I just expect more. Big Mike bent me over!!! After being told a 2 and half hour wait time I got on the list and went home because I'm 5 minutes from home. I come back an hour and half later just to check on my place in line they respond with we called your name an hour ago. WHATTT how do you tell me that wait time and call my name after 30 min. Then I get sat, get our drinks in Styrofoam cups, ask to order an appetizer news flash there all out of dips, nvm I'll just stick with the bread, NOPE out of that as well. I then order a 22 dollar ceaser salad that was definitely from a bag and 6 shrimp on top. The food comes eventually and I get 2 ice cold sides and a steak that might as well have walked to the table itself ( ordered medium) my girlfriend gets ice cold tuna with cafeteria rice and a cold potato. The food IS TERRIBLE. Signs all around said Alabamas best steak all we could do was laugh as we read that on the way out. read more
