My husband and I came on a rainy Saturday afternoon two hours before a home game. There was on one party ahead of us ordering. I like this wholesome location with friendly staff and a no frills menu. Everything is made fresh to order and prices are reasonable. I ordered a chicken sandwich and my husband chose the hamburger combo. The combos are an additional $5 more with fries and unlimited fountain drink. I believe they only take credit card and cash. There were a few TVs with football games on but the sound was turned low. Come here for a quick meal before the game!

This was my first time going to Shelia C's after living in Auburn for several years, and it did not disappoint. The burgers were a really good size for the price. We did not have to wait super long for our food, and although the restaurant was fairly crowded it did not feel like it. I would for sure go back again, but probably not on a game day as I feel it would be way too crowded.

Before I say anything I want to get something straight, the meals are massive so if you have a small stomach don't eat too much. 1. Food But let's get back to this I will like to say this is one of the best hamburger restaurants I've been in and everything is fresh like they just got the meat from the cow. Also the meal has so much oil but I like it. 2. Service The service was just "fine" there wasn't much to say about this. There just ordering. And that's it. 3. The Ambience remains me of the country like a small town vibe. Overall this place is a 4.3 in my opinion but I recommend trying this place.

This little hole in the wall has all the charm and basic decor that you would expect from a hidden gem in the Deep South. And this is a fun stop in Auburn. If McDonald's is a 1, and The Pharmacy in Nashville is a perfect 5, then Sheila C's is a solid 3-star burger. We found the patties to be a little dry, but you get a lot for your money. The double cheeseburger is a monstrosity with two smashed beef patties on a wonderfully soft bun. The quality of meat is definitely lacking something, but again, it's a reasonably good product and an enjoyable experience. We would definitely go back! The pickles are pretty standard, and it's too bad they don't use the world famous Wickles pickles since the distributor is less than a half hour drive from the restaurant. But you'll certainly enjoy your stop here and the friendly people. The fresh fries are very good and highly recommended!

    Burger and Fries! Nummy!

Excellent made to order burgers and hand sliced fries. Hometown, hardworking folks feel. We are from Georgia but we will stop-in again.

This place is amazing. Despite being a little understaffed when we went, the folks working here went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The food is phenomenal. The atmosphere feels like my favorite hometown diner. Truly a 10/10 place and I wish it all the success!

We came a recommendation of a coworker while traveling through Auburn. Not much to look at on the outside but don't let that stop you! Food was delicious. Menu was simple but the portion sizes were great and everything tasted amazing. True Americana. Service was not slow and to the point, order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. Give it a try!

Prices are fair given the world we live in today. The burgers are huge and well dressed. The milkshakes are legit. Ask for a spoon because it ain't coming out of that straw until it has sat in your Alabama heat vehicle for a few. The fries are made fresh and hot. So good. The employees/owner are exceptional. Smiles all the way.

I started off with the Moon Over Madagascar, and let me tell you--if this drink had a fan club, I'd be president. The black tea and vanilla combo sounded like a weird dare at first, but it ended up being shockingly amazing. Whoever came up with that mix deserves a bonus and maybe a parade. Now, let's talk about the shrimp and grits, because these were not just "good." These were "call your mama and tell her you've tasted greatness" good. The chef is from South Carolina, and you can taste every bit of Lowcountry pride in that bowl. Perfectly cooked grits? Check. Pile of blackened shrimp? Double check. A sauce that made me rethink my entire life? Oh yeah. If they sold that sauce by the gallon, I'd be bankrupt but extremely happy. Erica, our waitress, was an absolute rockstar. Super helpful, incredibly informative, and somehow managed to keep the perfect balance of friendly and professional--even on the Sunday after the Iron Bowl, when half of Auburn is stress-eating. The place was spotless too, which is impressive considering the emotional damage that game causes every year. Bottom line: The Hound is a must-visit. Come hungry, order boldly, and thank me later.

Let me start by saying the building is beautiful and the atmosphere feels like a nice restaurant. Also, the cocktail menu was definitely curated by someone who knows what they are doing. The appetizer Barrotta cheese was the best part of the evening. With that being said, the entrees were lackluster and small. Our food came out lukewarm at best and honestly seemed like not a lot of thought went into them. I know that this restaurant is supposed to be upscale, but I don't think I should pay 55$ per persons meal and still leave hungry. Also, the staff needs training. The whole time it felt like they were concerned with fast turn over and nothing else. Part of upscale dining is that the price of food and quality of service is more important than turn over time. Generally speaking I will not be back to eat here again.

We came Valentine's Day weekend from Columbus, GA after attending mass. He really wanted to take me here and I'm so glad he did. We had the bread and butter which was to die for! I think they gave us too much butter over bread ratio, but l'm not complaining haha. So warm, soft, fluffy and delish the bread was. I don't think we talked much when we had our wagyu steak main course cause it was so good, we couldn't say a word to each other. The pepper sauce with the perfectly cooked medium rare steak (which came cut in two pieces, which is a really genius move to serve steak by the way), with white asparagus, caramelized onion, rose petals, and just pure deliciousness. Literally chef's kiss. We also couldn't make up our mind about desserts cause they had a Valentine's dessert menu and the couple sitting next to us also recommended the cookies and milk. Yeah- I'm really lucky and very spoiled. Definitely hit a sugar high, but absolutely worth it. Servers and greeters were also all so kind and attentive. Definitely recommend :) I think this is the nicest dinner anyone has ever treated me to. Thanks for my amazing boyfriend- I'm so grateful.

Garrett suggested Amsterdam for lunch. Located near the Auburn campus, Amsterdam is one of more well known eateries off campus. Students may not have eaten at Amsterdam, but most can point you in the right direction. I've been tricked by appearances before but Amsterdam is in a category of its own. There's a front and a back part of the building. But I didn't know that until we were led to our table in the back. The front part is a typical "smallish" restaurant with tight booths and tables. The decorations of impressionist painters adorn the walls giving the front dining room a warm inviting feel. When we were led to our table, I thought I was being led to the restrooms. We actually went past the restrooms down a small flight of stairs and into another large room. This beautiful back room was oozing the "hidden wine cellar" vibe throughout. There were tables and chairs in the center with smaller tables and chairs lining one wall and booths on another. Then there's a large full service bar lining the 3rd wall and a workstation on the 4th wall. The ceiling with hanging panels of wood moved the light beautifully and impressed me. There was also a large floor to ceiling wine rack next to our 4 top. Gary tried their Omelet. Three eggs served with conecuh sausage, bacon, onions, peppers, cheddar cheese, and potatoes. With the sourdough toast, the plating was immaculate. I didn't get to taste it, but Gary didn't have any deiicions/ Garrett opted for their Brunch special: Apple & Pecan Freeman toast. When it arrived to our table, we immediately noticed the large slices of French toast. As promised, the French toast was topped with slices of peaches and apples and butter brown sugar with white powder sugar as well. Again I didn't get to taste, but I savored it with my eye. Paul and I tried the Amsterdam Burger. He got some fries as his side, but I upgraded my side to a beautifully plated side salad. With the added fried egg, my patty was grilled to a perfect medium with just a hint of pink. Stacked with it was some lettuce, caramelized onions, applewood bacon, spicy pickles, tomato and their traditional burger sauce all squeezed together between 2 bun halves, it has to be stabbed with a long food pick to hold it together. It was juicy, tasty and just Yom Yom Yom Yom. Our server was attentive and checked on us frequently. Other notable menu items include fried brussels, lobster egg rolls, rum salmon, breakfast croissant, snickerdoodle pancakes, steak & eggs, egg white omelet and shrimp & grits. I was told their Crab Cake & Avocado is to die for. Meal prices are on the high end but Amsterdam understands how to elevate Southern comfort food.
