I shop here 3 times a week. The selection of gluten free, higher quality, fresh food choices is definitely available. Some of it will be at a premium price however, I am willing to spend the $ for quality especially when I enjoy it. The hot food lunch specials are often outstanding, gluten free selections and priced very reasonably for main protein entree with 1 or 2 sides. The only complaint I have w this particular Jimbo's is that the grocery workers can be very unhelpful and unfriendly. A couple of them even look angry every time I walk around the store. There is a guy with red bushy hair and beard who looks like he might lose it. It saddens me that they never make eye contact, say hello or ask may I help you. This is customer service 101. My wife and I a few years back began juicing. Our local grocery store did not have much of a selection of organic produce. I broke out in hives due to pesticides and other things added to the produce to make it look pretty. So we found Jimbo's online. We live in Vista so Escondido is not to far from us. Would like it to be down the street but it is what it is. We love that everything in their produce is organic. It may not be in-expensive but it is nice to know I don't have to go out of my way to find the organic items since they are all organic. Full disclosure I got to try the lone star sandwich as "a sample", but the being said it was delicious and very satisfying. I've been going here for lunch for years and always had a good meal. Went here for their selection of vegan options. They also have a great tofu sandwich I haven't had in years and wanted one. My main issue is I bought several items, and 3 of them were expired or on the verge of expiring. Is that normal ?! I purchased a bag of grain free chips on 3/25 expiration of 3/15. A jar of chipotle veganaise again on 3/25 expiration of 3/28. Lastly HOPE hummus same day as other purchases and expiration 3/27. I've been going to Jimbo's since I was a baby. It's a fantastic grocery store with so many options including lots of good Gluten free products. Their bakery is phenomenal and so are the sandwiches. Definitely not the cheapest store around. I appreciate the naturalist approach and back it fully- but it needs to be more affordable. Their bulk stuff is good and reasonably priced and their deli is good for an n the go meal. My sister suggested I try Jimbos so I have been here twice now! Firstly, I find the prices comparable to every other health food store so I'm not shocked by the prices. I really like their salad bar choices and some of the innovative selections in the prepared foods section. I love to cook and seldom buy prepared meals but would definitely buy some here. I am an avid juicer and I love the ginger squeeze and all the healthy choices this store has to offer. It is also well maintained but most of all so nice to have someone smile at you as a new customer. When I told them it was my first time there they smiled and said welcome, can I help you find anything!! I told them no but thank you for smiling and offering! The store layout is nice and makes sense. The Non GMO choices are endless which I love. I can also fill my water jug which is always a good thing. Love love the produce here as well as the selection.I want to add that I had very good service in the vitamin section as I was looking for Red Algae and not only were they extremely knowledgable but helped me find the exact brand I was looking for. I give them 4 stars because they are not in a convenient location for me! PLEASE open up a store in Temecula or Murrieta !!! I heard rumors so please tell me they are true! I LOVE this Jimbos!! The team here is so helpful and friendly! I eat here every work day for lunch. They have a great salad bar, hot and cold food selection and deli. Today was my first time shopping at Jimbo's after hearing about it from a friend. The store was neatly set up with several employees around to offer help if needed. Produce seemed fresh, the yellow peppers looked a little wilty but they seem to be in other stores too. I bought enough food to last me a few days and paid $25(no complaints here). The checker (David?)seemed friendly and helpful. Overall, they have good stock, reasonable prices and friendly faces. I'll definitely be back. read more

The scent upon entering was delightful and homey, and healthy and exotic... You know what I am talking about... Really needed to come here after so many years.. I shopped at the old North Park store, Helped to open the Del Mar store.. and have now been to the one here.. just so nice inside, and full of a huge offering of freshly made foods.. I worked at Peoples in OB too.. and visited there as well.. and while I preferred peoples then.. I really prefer Jimbo's now.. the deli looked chaotic at People's, and we could not really get interested in the selection of foods.. NOTHING like it was when I was deli manager there.. we rocked that place in the early 90s! The deli has unique sandwiches that I highly recommend for a great value, especially for vegans and vegetarians. I love the Lone Star and the sandwiches have high quality ingredients and are big! As for the store Some of the stuff is a little pricey. There was some specific cheese I wanted once, but it was past the best by date, so watch out for things like that. Also the tables by the deli could of used a little cleaning and restock on napkins and utensils. But it is definitely nice to have a store around that has specialty items and you can find some deals. I've been a customer of Jimbos for about 3 years now. This place is great. It is pricey, but aren't you at a specialty store? Exactly, you get what you pay for! Well, here you do. Their deli is amazing. I eat there at least 2-3 times a week, and I'm always impressed. I hiiiighly recommend going before 8pm to get the freshest food. Their tilapia and salmon are by far the best around. Their produce section is niice as well. HUGE selection. I mean HUGE. I get all of my reptiles special greens there. I can't find half the stuff anywhere else. Last but not least, THEY'RE ORGANIC AND NATURAL!!! incredible staff members, immaculate food and display, and I am highly appreciative of the woman at the healthcare desk or whatever it's called in the middle of the store because she is very knowledgeable and knew exactly what to offer me when I was having some teeth pain and the natural toothpastes/essential oils/root powders/tinctures I purchased from here are the only thing I use now. Fantastic local health food store. Jimbo's is native to the San Diego area and carries a wide variety of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and just generally healthy food. I usually come here for a kombucha and their signature deli sandwiches, which are fantastic. The Lone Star is amazing, and even though I'm not a vegetarian, it makes my mouth water every time I think about it. Their salad bar is small but has excellent and unusual things as well. This is so unfortunate, but must be said: My son went there to have some lunch via a la carte on July 4. He had the vegan vegetables and said it had a sour taste to it, which surprised him for a natural food place. Soon afterwards he realized he had food poisoning ... stomach cramping pains and he hurt so badly that he could not lay or sit down, or stand up! His hands went numb.
