They carry such a nice mix of unique specialty items along with everyday groceries, which is something we have always appreciated. That said, prices have become very high compared to nearby options. I recently compared produce prices with Trader Joe's next door, and Trader Joe's was significantly less expensive. More importantly, the last several times I have shopped in Major Market's produce section, I noticed multiple bagged salads, bagged vegetables, and even some refrigerated salad dressings that were well past their expiration dates. We have also purchased their fresh garlic croutons from the front of the store for many, many years. Recently, though, the crouton pieces were cut very long rather than into normal bite-sized pieces. These were not crostinis; they were the actual croutons. The pieces were awkward to eat and, in my opinion, could even be a choking hazard because they are not cut into manageable bite-sized pieces. I'm not sure what is going on, but shoppers should be very careful and check expiration dates closely before purchasing items from the produce/refrigerated section. I also hope the crouton issue is addressed, because Major Market has been a beloved store for our family for many years.

My first review was to simple. Let me clarify my stellar rating for Jimbo's: 5/5 stars for environment. They not only care about the environment, but they have a great environment in the store. As we walked in the front door today (during 100 degree weather), we looked to the left and there were cool, organic watermelon samples to try. Of course the law of reciprocation kicked in and we bought a watermelon... But the point is they make the health food, organic food shopping experience a pleasure from start to finish. 5/5 stars for service. Every single employee here is friendly, happy, helpful, and knowledgable. I always walk away from my interactions with them very happy. 5/5 stars for selection. They have literally everything, from organic fruits and veggies, supplements, cereal, etc... It's all exceptionally healthy and there to choose from. 3/5 stars for price. $$$$ be prepared to take out a second mortgage paying your bill at the register. But that's just the way it is here. If you want high quality, you're paying for it. Overall an excellent experience. You will not be disappointed shopping here. 9/18/2016 - Unfortunately I have to downgrade two stars. They let people bring their non service animals in the store. Dog hair was getting into the self serve food area. Unsanitary. I wish they would put a sign up not allowing this. read more

Just an update on the food poisoning & MSG reaction from the "Natural flavors" that is in the "shortcut" packaged soup base they use in their soups they advertise as "make from scratch". Because I didn't have medical "proof" of food poisoning (or have any of the food left that I ate to test, their insurance company will do nothing for the pain & suffering the food poisoning & reaction I had to the "natural flavors" in the soup. The Liberty insurance company also said Jimbo's has no obligation to let the public know THERE IS "natural flavor" in their food they serve. I had trusted Jimbo's to have only chemical, toxin, gmo free organic food. I wonder what else is lurking in what they serve, they fail to mention? Now I and possibly you, will know better, than to take a chance! read more

I used to frequent this sandwich bar in the deli and it was always my go-to spot for a quick and tasty lunch. However, I recently noticed that they changed ovens and the quality of their sandwiches has taken a turn for the worse. Additionally, the service has become noticeably slower since the oven change. It seems like they're still adjusting to the new equipment and it's affecting their ability to keep up with the demand during peak hours. Overall, I'm disappointed with the changes at this sandwich bar. It used to be a reliable option for a satisfying lunch, but now I'll have to look elsewhere for my sandwich fix. read more

I have visited all of their locations but unfortunately this is the worst one. Most locations are well stocked and associates are willing to help but this particular location never has the "pumpkin pillows" in the bakery and trying to get assistance at the meat department is always a chore. I have spoken to the store manager regarding the pumpkin pillows as it is one of the my favorite desserts containing no added sugar, eggs and dairy and he addressed the situation ONE time telling me it was one of the more simpler items to make yet they still neglect to stock the product on a regular basis. read more

Jimbo's is hands down one of my favorite grocery stores! It truly stands out from others with its exceptional quality and unique offerings. The selection is amazing, and I can always count on finding fresh, high-quality products every time I shop. Their produce is consistently fresh, and the variety they offer is impressive. And when it comes to meats, I won't buy filet mignon anywhere else--Jimbo's is the best for that. Who wants to eat healthy and live longer? Go to this Jimbo's Naturally. This is a fun grocery store to go to. The lady at the register asked how my day is and I said that my day has been pretty good. I like this store even though it is a small store and does not have everything that you want and the food is pricey because everything is organic and natural. But it is a nice, and clean, and people are helpful ,and friendly. I think I like the environment a lot better than other grocery stores. read more

I have always loved Jimbos - this market is no exception. This Escondido location is small but packed with all the same items as other stores. Bakery and deli, salad bar and lunch counter is exceptionally stocked. The pricing is a step down from Whole Foods but a step up from Sprouts so be prepared to spend some cash. read more

I don't go to Jimbo's for everything. Just things like fruit and produce. Give them a try! Eat healthy and live longer. read more

I went in for some grocery and food, of course. The service was really friendly and welcoming. Sebastian was really good with customer service. I keep coming back for the scones and cakes, they got tasty cakes and scones which I like than other pastry places. Lots of goodness in this place, my haven. read more

Jimbo's is going beyond the state guidelines in not letting people enter the store without a mask (no medical exemptions). I will not be shopping there anymore as long as this policy continues. This is a CYA/nanny state policy, not a true, health-based concern. read more
