I can't form an opinion on anything other than the Tahoe Burrito. I always order it, though a time or two I've had their signature taco with the parmesan cheese on the shell. It is SUPERB, and a great addition to their tacos. I always order the Tahoe burrito since it has all the rice, beans, cheese, sour cream, and the carnitas are always great. They are huge too, so last me through another lunch the next day! Keep up the GREAT work! read more

Been through the drive-thru a couple of times and each time I was disappointed in the food quality, pricing and customer service. The tacos were soaked in grease and the meat looked like re-heated dried out crumbles of what used to be ground beef. The service person seemed disinterested in me and my order. The price of everything on the menu seems out of touch with the food quality, appearance and the experience. Although I didn't go inside, the run down look of the exterior and the parking lot, are likely good indicators of what to expect. I have been going to Jimboys around the Sacramento region for years, and this store is the worst I have visited. read more

Never again....Jimboys has been a family staple growing up. Mom got us kids tacos and French fries at the 29th and N street location. That location never disappointed us! Moving up to the CP I was thrilled to see a Jimboys. I've been here a handful of times and was BEYOND disappointed. Rice under cooked, tacos soaking with grease and don't dare ask for extra packets of sauce. How are they even still in business?? Don't even waste your time or money coming to this location. Overall, Jimboy's is a solid eating experience. Their food overall is good, but their basic beef tacos are amazing. The tortillas are slightly fried and crispy and dusted with parmesan, making them pretty unique in the taco fast food realm. Other things are just ok. Bean burritos and chicken tacos, just ok. The "homemade" salsa tastes a lot like marinara sauce. The hot sauce in packets is pretty good. When I'm in the area, I'll stick to a large mess of beef tacos. read more

After a long day of work I went through the drive thru at Jimboys Cameron Park. The parking lot and drive thru were empty, I was the only customer. I ordered 6 chicken tacos and drove the 15 minutes home. In the photos, is the nasty garbage I found. Raw tortilla, no Parmesan on the outside of the shell, and literally nothing inside. This is what I was suppose to feed my family. It's not only disgusting, but offensive that they think a paying customer would want to eat this. I phoned Jimboy's twice and each time the phone rang about 20 times with no answer. I threw the 'Tacos' away. I also sent a FB message and email to Jimboy's with no response! I am writing this review because I don't want anyone else to waste their money on food that is not edible. read more

We really like Jimboy's but this location really disappointed us recently. The food is usually good but not this time. My tacos were good but the steak Tahoe burrito my husband had was awful. The meat was mostly gristle & fat. Sadly he didn't tell me until we got home or else I would have asked for a remake. We will take a break from this location so they can get things figured out. NON SMOKING DRIVE THROUGH, CHARGE TO USE YOUR CARD, NO BILLS OVER 20! Tell me you want to be uninviting without telling me you want to be uninviting. I don't smoke but you don't have the right to tell people not to smoke in their own vehicle. And charge for cards? A patron might overlook these ridiculous statements if the service was prompt. I waited for over 15 minutes with only two cars ahead of me tonight. When I got to the drive-thru order point I asked for the taquitos to which they responded they "were out of queso." I said that's fine I'll just buy the taquitos to which he said, "Oh we're also out of taquitos too." Ill try coming back in a few months and see if they got any better and hopefully to amend my review and give them a higher rating. If not I won't return. Jimboy's franchise owner, try and create a more welcoming environment without passive aggressive notes. 3/2/2019: I ordered the Steak Asada dinner platter for $11.95 plus, 87-cents sales tax=$12.82. Upsettingly, the staff shorted my order-they only gave me ONE FLOUR TORTILLA WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO GIVE ME TWO FLOUR TORTILLAS; plus, the food portions were meager-a dollop of refried beans, two meager, minuscule dollops of Steak Asada, LOADED up more with the Spanish Fried Rice, and slopped lettuce on top of everything covering up the heinous crime committed! As a result, egregiously shorting my dinner order, I became highly disappointed, livid, and unhappy eating this SLOP. Worse-I forgot checking my order before leaving the drive-through window . . . What an absent-minded Brain Fart! DOH! Moreover, I discovered the shortage upon arriving home ready to inhale the Steak Asada platter . . . Hey~Where's the other tortilla, ehhh? I rifled through the entire Jimboy's Taco's plastic bag turning the bag inside out: ZILCH, nada, zippo-MIA flour tortilla!!!! Why I oughta return to Cameron Park giving the staff my grievances! This location is broke, the employees and the location look sad, they're out to nickle and dime you for .30 cent here and .90c cents there, check your receipts always. the empty parking lot mid day during peak lunch should've been a sign to steer clear, this is nothing more then a side of the freeway money grab location. read more

This is the worse JimBoy's I have ever been to. I will never come here again. We've had less than stellar service from them before - mostly with our orders being wrong or late. But today was absolutely ridiculous. We placed an order through their app at 5:30p with a pickup time of 6:10. When we pull in, we notice that the dining area is closed with a sign indicating the drive thru was open. We get in line at 6:10. It takes 10min to get to the ordering window. We let them know we have a mobile order and was told that it was scheduled to be picked up at 6:30. We let them know that our receipt shows 6:10 and the cashier rudely responded with "we can show the receipt that says 6:30" - We ask what we're suppose to do because there are cars behind us so we can't back our. She told us to stay in line. 10min later (It's now 6:30) we get to the pickup window where we are told that our order will be another 15min. We show her our receipt and she shows us one with a different time and claims that the online system is glitchy and they tried to call us - they never did. We are told to pull to the front and we wait for about 5min and decide to get back into the drive thru and just ask for a refund. We ask to speak to the manager at the window and it's now 6:45. We explain that we have waited an extremely long time and that we were never notified about the delay. We asked for a refund and was told by the manager that she could not do anything with an online order. We had to go to "online" to get a refund. We called once we got home and tried to get specifics on How to get a refund because there was nothing on the app or online to process refunds. The manager - she told us her name was Maria - told us we had a file a complaint online and someone would get back to us. She refused to give us her boss's name or contact him. We will be contacting the owners. Wish we could give this place 0 stars. We were always waiting longer for our orders and many of our mobile orders were incorrect previous to this. It is clear that management is lacking!! Don't eat here!!! read more

Kind of bummed. I love Jimboy's Tacos but this place today grossed me out. I've been here before and it was clean however tonight, Very dirty. Little Kids (age 2 and 7?) running around the back where food is made. Floor where food is made had all kinds of food debris and paper napkins. The salsa bar needed attention. Messy. Food: #1 plate. Beef taco and cheese enchilada with rice and beans was good as predicted. New Tahoe Burrito : hubby says !! Really good!! Maybe they are having a bad night. Please take better care of your food establishment. Keep it clean and keep the kids out of the kitchen. We want to come back and don't want to drive to the Folsom location. read more

Do not go to this location. Their phone number also doesn't work so you can't complain.. That second piece that was KIND OF together fell apart into mush and I basically threw it away because it was a mess. I waited a long time hoping everything would be nice and fresh and nope, was super disappointed after a long wait. After a big workout I was looking forward to the meal. I've gotten it before at other jimboys and it was great but for some reason today was inedible for any civilized person. My fish taco was frozen inside. The employee replied, "Oh, my bad!" I was disappointed in his lack of concern. The second visit, the guacamole was so spicy that no one could eat it. I really like the menu here. It's pretty good for Mexican style fast food. I especially like the Bean Raco Salad. However, I respectfully recommed they sample their own food from time to time. On more than one occasion my to-go taco salad has had a taco bowl that was obviously cooked in very old, almost rancid oil. Also I would have appreciated a bit more generosity with their salsa and adding pico as an option even if there is a charge for it. read more

My first Jimboy's experience! I enjoyed the classic ground beef tacos. Juicy and flavorful meat topped with crisp lettuce in fried tortillas that split the soft-hard taco divide. Sides in my combo plate were forgettable. I'd stick with just tacos next time. Great service and clean, spacious dining area. read more

It's quick and close by. The reason for my review is it isn't managed well. 1. The tip cup is a half smashed paper cup literally duck taped to the side of the drive up window. This has to make you wonder if this much thought was put into the tip cup what kind of effort goes into cleaning the surfaces where your food is prepared. Head scratcher for sure.... 2. They charge a SUC fee to use a credit card. WTHeck? When I called to find out what the extra SUC fee was, they sat and explained to me that they charged to use credit cards. WOW, like no one knew that. Thanks for explaining that to me. Not like every other business on the planet uses credit cards and simply builds in the fee to their prices. In other words, it's a cheap way to try making your prices look lower than they are, except everyone gets super annoyed when they get their two receipts showing the extra charge. 3. Food tastes fair, but at least the enchilada plate is a full meal. Recommendation: after reading a few other reviews, I fully agree with the person that said the franchisee that owns the Folsom store should have corporate do an eminent domain proceeding for the benefit of the public and improve this store so many others can enjoy it. read more

Jimboy's Tacos is one of my favorite taco place. I use to go to the original JimBoy's next to the Sacramento downtown metro bus station back in the days. This Jimboy's is very friendly and the service is very good. The staff do a great job so give them a tip. Jimboy's taco taste very good but some folks may think they are too greasy. They often pack the taco with a health scoop of beef. Their fresh self service hot taco sauce, onion and jalapeño works for me. I love the extra spice. I'll stop by every chance I get to satisfy my Jimboy's taco craving. I just hope they keep the 6 pack special at $11.99 forever. Worth the price. Taste very good. read more

Told him a saw a different price on line(i was looking at old menu... i was wrong) he came to the window already heated and ranting about if the app has different priceses and nobody lets them know he doesn't have to honir it!!! I told him i wasn't using the app and I googled the menu he grunts and says "i donxt fricken know how old that is... whats on the menu is on the menu!" And litterally walks away and tell the girl to handle it!!! She comes back and apologize profusely says she has no idea what just happened, but she wishes she could help. We generally stop at Jimboys twice s week with the one in Cameron Park being our main one. This time food not as good as over cooked. TWO TACOD TOOK 30 MINUTED Music was staticky. I lived in Sacramento for 20 years and my aunt and uncle lived in Cameron Park and I never tried Jimboys. I finally did because I have a coworker that makes special trips to Sacramento for Jimboys. The taco shell was good. It's fried. Fried taco shells are always tastier. The dusting or Parmesan was completely unnecessary, however, and mainly served to make my fingers dirty. The meat was bland. Like I make better taco meat from scratch. Maybe if you add sauce it's tastier but I wanted to try them as is to determine whether it's someplace I want to try again. Service at this location was pretty bad. The employees spent more time talking to each other than taking the order and payment. I almost left. Let me start by saying that I LOVE Jimboy's Tacos. I even try to replicate their tacos at home, since I live 1+ hour away from the nearest location. I have been a fan since 1996 when I worked in Folsom and they had a location near Greenback/Madison. I work in El Dorado Hills and this location in Cameron Park has been the most convenient for me. I used to like this location because it is easier to drive to vs driving down to Folsom on Bidwell St. I went the other day and was very disappointed with the state of the location. The food was OK. Original ground beef tacos, were decent, no complaints. I usually like having my food here with a beer, and the salsa. The salsa is basic (original and green salsa only in pre-packaged containers, or packets). No other additions that I am accustomed to, such as onions, cilantro, peppers. Also, no beer. They have the taps, but nothing for sale. This location also seems under-staffed. It took about 8 minutes for someone to come to the register because it appeared that they were working the drive-thru and doing other kitchen tasks. I really want this location to be successful. I will probably be back, for the original Tacos. But I might drive to Folsom if they have beer and all the condiments. I really hope that they turn this location around, it used to be great. read more

Jimboys is a local favorite with a cult following and I'm proud to say that I'm a part of it! If I were a millionaire, I'd franchise this place and move them down to SoCal; they're that good. ----The Food---- Beef Taco ($1.75) - This fast food establishment's claim to fame is due to these bad boys. Imagine Jack-in-the-Box tacos, but double the size! Jimboys uses fresh ingredients too, so expect a lot of fresh cut lettuce, cheese, and REAL thick grounded beef--none of that mushy stuff you'd find at Jack-in-the-Box. Furthermore, what makes these tacos dear to my heart is how they fry it AND sprinkle an extensive amount of parmesan cheese on the outside. It enhances the taste two-fold! Simply addicting. Bean & Cheese Burrito ($1.50)- When I'm craving for a bean and cheese burrito, I just go to Taco Bell or Del Taco, but man, Jimboy's makes it so much better. These burritos weigh about a pound, filled with slow cooked beans, fresh cheese and special zesty sauce. They also press their burritos, giving it a crunchy texture on the outside. ----- Verdict: Don't be deceived by their Indiana Jones-Temple-of-Doom type building-- this fast food spot serves some good, fatty Americanized Mexican Food that is definitely worth the calories. They have a terrific salsa bar too. Make sure to come to this place if you're ever on your way to Lake Tahoe. I'll be back to try their other stuff!...looking forward to the burger taco! The first time I saw Jimboys tacos restaurant was when I was in Reno. I had a taco craving at the time and since I was right by it thought "what the hell" I'll give it a try. I'm glad I did! I had an original steak taco. It was sooo good. They fry a corn tortilla then cover it with Parmesan cheese! Fresh chopped steak, shredded lettuce, diced tomato fill the taco shell. Oh so delicious! The tortilla shell really takes it to another level of flavor town! The hot crisp tortilla with semi melted Parmesan cheese coating the outside and fresh grilled steak was heavenly. The shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes gave it a cool refreshing finish to the taco. I washed it down with an ice cold Horchata! It's a chain restaurant, like Taco Bell. Just so much better!
