I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. The man and I love this neighborhood restaurant for the Happy Hour! We never had a bad experience with the bar staff. They're always so pleasant and accommodating. We always like a table for four to fit all the appetizers and delish adult beverages. Yes, I've been to places where they don't understand my logic! We found Los Pinos a year ago, and it is absolutely our favorite Mexican food restaurant ever. When we arrived yesterday, we had chips, salsa and refried beans brought to our table (best ever) - so yummy. My husband ordered the chicken picante burrito. So tasty and it has all white meat & great flavors. I had one carnitas street taco and one classic taco and again, super good! Definitely, the icing on this restaurant is Luis! He always welcomes us and greets us like best friends. Additionally, Vanessa is great. She took our order, so knowledgeable of the specials, new items on the menu and checked in on us during our meal. Luis and Vanessa just make us feel that we came to the right place! I meet up with a a big group of about 12 for dinner in Cameron Park. Someone in our group had the forethought to call days in advance to make a reservation. Lucky that was done, since on a Saturday night, this place filled up pretty quickly creating a wait time. Overall, we had a great time. The service was terrific. The food was good, simple classic Mexican food. We were provided complimentary chips n salsa. Refills were plentiful. No complaints. I ordered the Los Pinos Carne Asada plate. It was a grilled ribeye. I ordered it medium rare. It came out perfectly cooked. But the cut was tough and super hard to slice even with the provided steak knife. Other folks in my group ordered crispy asada tacos, chicken fajitas, various burritos, steak ranchero, and taco salad. They all liked their dishes. The chicken fajita serving was large enough for two. I nibbled a bit off their plates. Yum! I just didn't have quite the luck with my dish. It's always good but last night it was the best it ever has been you know. The amount of sauce was perfect the taste on point and the presentation was beautiful. I come from a culinary background. I went to culinary school and I've been working in the kitchen for 15 years. It's usually always underpaid understaffed and unappreciated. The tips usually always go to the servers this needs to change this Chef needs to be tipped and complimented, and given a raise I will definitely be coming back more and more in order the same thing. We have been coming to Los Pinos for the last year on a regular basis and bring family and friends. Food is generally good and staff is nice. Tonight we had order directly from the website and they processed the order. I waited for over an hour for food and received notification that our food was deliver to our house. When checking our front porch there was no food in sight. I called the restaurant and spoke to the hostess and she indicated she was new and did not know that they had a delivery option through the website or that you had a website. I said okay and explained to her that they did, had a laugh and asked if she could track my order down and I would go look on the neighbors porches till she called me back. 15 mins later I hadn't heard from her so i called her back and she explained that her manager was out making delivers and she didn't know where my food was but would give my call to the bartender and she could handle my refund because they had no one to deliver food at this point. The moment she put me on the phone with the female bartender she had attitude and I was bothering her. I explained to her that I had ordered food on their website and the previous girl on the phone told me that the manager was delivering food. She told me that I had to call Door Dash twice and i told her I didn't order through Door Dash I had ordered through their website directly. She proceded to get loud and incredibly rude and tell me its not her problem if the food was not delievered and that they make no money on lost orders so they are not refuding or remaking the food. At this point to get a word in I had to speak loudly because she was completely talking over me with her horrible attitude and customer service. She told me I had to call them because she was not doing it and it was not her problem. I asked for the number of who i am suppose to call since your restaurant is who placed the order with a 3rd party delivery service to which I was told I could look it up on google. I let her know she needed to call them and she told me no. I asked if I could speak to her manager and she told me it goes no higher then her and I needed to call Uber. She gave me a number that goes to the drivers for scheduling and no one picks up. I had to track down a customer service text number through your delivery service to talk to someone. For the sake of your business this woman really needs to learn how to speak to customers on the phone and not be so incredibly rude. If the table were reversed and she just spent $70 on dinner and waited over an hour plus and was met with this...she wouldn't be happy or return to a restaurant that thinks this is acceptable. I am now to wait 5-7 days for a response from the delivery company on the return of our money. Completely unexceptable. Such a shame- your food is good but we wont be returning nor will our local family in the community. read more

We've gotten food to go many times and it's been decent to good, depending on the night. The to go margaritas have been convenient and delicious as well. Until last night. When I got home, I realized our order was wrong and the margaritas were not our favorite prickly pear, but very limey and very, very sugary. They tasted like virgins, and for four of them at $11.50 a piece, that was very disappointing. We are hoping it was an off night, but for $88, it may not be worth it to try again. read more

We used to really like this restaurant. However, there have been changes and not for the better. The carnitas was very dry, and as a result, difficult to eat. They added cilantro rice but forgot to add the flavor. I've never had cilantro rice without lime. The topper was when one of the staff cleaned off the table next to us. It had lots of chips and other bits of food on it. She simply swept them onto the floor, right in the traffic pattern. There it all sat for people to walk on.
